It took him a while but he was eventually able to move around until he was in a sitting position. He had been sitting in a lotus position for over a week now.
The pressure was draining his stamina like a pump but it seems the leg had high energy in it, it must've been from a much stronger beast than he was.
However even though he was in that situation he had to acknowledge the improvement he had. His breathing was stabilised, the air nolonger felt as heavy in his lungs.
It was still heavy but manageable. He could also move his mana now albeit slowly. Casting high mana cost techniques like healing and barrier magic was still impossible.
He could however convert his mana into elementary mana, although he cannot use magic due to his class limiter he could make simple things like fire or create water.
Using that he was able to create a bowls worth of water on the floor over a period of three days but the pressure pressed the water firmly on the ground making it incredibly hard for him to drink.
He was still confused on how the gravity here affected the mana. Mana was an intangible form of energy unless the wielder wills it otherwise or is converted into elemental or techniques but it natural form had not mass.
A few more days passed, he could feel his body slowly adjusting to the gravity. Slowly he tried to stand up, he failed and fell back down.
He tried again and again and again until on the 3rd day he was able to finally stand. His breathing was heavy, his legs were shaking, he felt like he just ran at full speed for hours in a steep mountain with rocks.
He tried to lift his leg but it refused so he dragged it forward, little by little he dragged his feet forward. It took him hours just to move 30 metres which was half the diameter of the cave he was in.
He leaned on the cold hard wall of the cave, blue moss and mushrooms glowed softly next to him lighting up his fatigue filled face. His stomach grumbled, he reached for the mushroom withing his reach.
He bit the glowing mushroom, it was hard and crunchy, he felt like he was chewing rock but it also a bit sweet. Energy flooded his stomach like a storm.
In a few seconds his muscles relaxed, his stamina had regenerated and he was nolonger out of breath. He sighed with relief, just as he was about to eat another pain overcame him.
His stomach rumbled, he fell to his knees screaming in pain, this was worst than his rank upgrade. He felt like lava was bubbling inside him while tiny needless poked his soul.
The pain lasted for hours, just as he was about to faint a system notification brought him back.
(Notice, poison resistance(earth grade) E rank created. Host mana density increased).
He felt relief, the pain was gone, infact his body felt amazing. That was intense, he thought. He stood and walked towards the wall.
Three steps in he realised what he had just done. He raised his foot, it was still hard and felt heavy but he could raise it. He took a step forward then another.
A small smile appeared on his lips, is this because of the mushroom? Must be, there's no other explanation for this. He walked around the cave for a few minutes, it was slow and felt like he was dragging a mountain behind him but he could walk.
I missed walking, he said. He continued to test the limit of what he can do now. Just as he was doing pushups his body was suddenly pressed to the ground with a bang.
Ouch, he was confused about what just happened, did the gravity increase? He concentrated to feel it and the gravity was still the same however he did notice the mushroom energy was depleted.
So that how it is, it was a temporary boost. He looked at the wall with mushrooms, it looked to be so far away. He sighed and pushed his body up.
He noticed that although moving was harder than when he had the mushroom energy it was much easier than before that. He was able to drag his body to the wall.
After consuming a single mushroom he felt energised and strong but he knew this was a temporary boost. He decided to train instead of wasting the energy and time.
He doesn't know if that would help but if he was able to improve by that much in nearly month without this type of energy, he believed the results would be better with it.
He was right, he did push-up and his hand to hand combat stances in the short period where the energy flooded his veins. The improvement to his strength was not as drastic as he would want but it was much higher than before.
He gained way more stats in a few minutes than he did in the entire month he was here and unlike before where the increase was only in his strength and endurance, the stat gain was across the board this time with the exception of intelligence and charm.
He sighed with relief, if he could keep up this pace he would be out of here before long, he wondered what the world outside of this cave was like.
Another month passed, he had been here for two months, he could move normally now and can even run or jump up by an entire metre however he noticed his improvement has dropped.
He was gaining less and less stats and energy from the mushroom but he should've expected that, everything in the world had a limit and it appears the mushroom was no exception.
Other than energy and stats he noticed he was getting less and less fulfilled by eating the mushrooms, infact he was hungry right now even though he had eaten over 10 mushrooms.
He had to find another food source or he will starve to death. As an F rank awakened he could go for months without food or water but he still needs them.
Speaking of water, he felt parched, he moved his mana through his mana veins. It felt thicker and denser, much harder to control but the benefits outweigh all of that.
He needed far less mana to achieve better results than before. If he could use magic this would've been even better. He turned his mana to a water attributed mana.
A stream of water fell from his hand, he raised it above his head and cool sweet water went down his throat, he groaned with pleasure. Time to get out of this place, he said to himself.
