Chapter 42 - CHAPTER 42:

Keveelsky's home was transformed overnight; the floor was laid with soft carpet, the bedroom shifted to the ground floor, and all furniture was remodeled to have round edges. Havila didn't know her home anymore, and she could only say, "What the hell happened here?" The climbing staircase could be cumbersome, especially now that you are not alone, and the edges are round to prevent minor injuries.

She could only nod and go to her new bedroom. Everything else was the same as her previous room; if she wasn't on the ground floor, she wouldn't have seen the changes. Keveelsky lulled her to sleep and went to be with the others. "How is she?" " What do you mean, how is she? She is obviously fine; she didn't even know she was pregnant for the last three months."

His mother corrected, "What we mean is, how did she take the pregnancy?" He contemplated for a few seconds and said, "Normal, I guess; it's as if she expected it to happen." Then they heard a loud voice, "My beautiful maiden, where are you? Starting today, I'm staying here with you." They turned and saw Polycarp[Kev's younger brother] pulling a large suitcase, and everybody's jaws dropped.

He ignored them and left the suitcase for the maid to take to his room and ran upstairs, calling 'beautiful maiden.' Everyone turned to look at Keveelsky, who did not say anything and sat at the dining table. He knew their thoughts and was glad that he was the handsome stranger, or else his brother would usurp him. Thinking again, their relationship was that of brother and sister, and he heaved a faint sigh of relief.

His brother came back downstairs with a face full of grievances and shouted, "Where is my beautiful maiden? Her room is empty." Before anyone could answer, he already overthought and overreacted, "Don't tell me you guys had a fight and she took everything and left. Wait, did you cheat on her? Oh my God, I wouldn't' t forgive anyone who makes her cry, even if that person is my dearest brother." He then plopped on the chair with visible grief on his face.

He is an actor, so everyone thought he was acting except Keveelsky, who knew his brother too well; he was not joking. He talked to himself. " Did she elope? I know she only loves that handsome stranger, but how could you let her go? I hat.. I'm calling her and will go live with her." He remembered something before he uttered profanities and called Havillah's private number. He jumped in shock as the phone rang right behind him.

He smiled foolishly and hugged her in relief and revealed one secret again, "Baby, you have the same ringtone as my brother. Is that the song you sang to your handsome stranger? You still haven't forgotten him? Why did you agree to marry my brother then?" He looked as if his sister had been forced into marriage by his brother. He said, "Tomorrow, we will go and ask the police again about that incident. I love my brother, but your happiness matters the most."

Havillah was happy that she was shedding tears; she asked, "What about the children then?" He readily answered, "I can be their godfather, and I'm sure your handsome stranger won't reject them either." Listening to his answers, Havillah pulled him by the ears and made him kneel in front of Keveelsk. "Look at him; is he dead to you? How can you discuss another man in front of him?"

She pinched further, earning a scream from Polycarp,p and said, "He is that handsome stranger, okay, so stop these nonsensical talks." Polycarp's ears were hot, tears brimmed in his eyes, and he begged dramatically, Please, beautiful maiden, forgive this little brother of yours; I didn't know he was that pitiful back then that you had to carry him." His acts were so real that they garnered everyone's pity.

Only Keveelsky knew he was acting because he was near and could see that Havillah was merely folding his ear and not pinching it. He roared, "ENOUGH." He startled Polycarp, who was scared for real this time; he sprang to his feet and hugged Havillah tightly, saying, "Beautiful maiden, save me." Everyone burst out laughing, realizing he was only pretending at first.

Havilah patted his head and said, "Enough acting, I'm hungry." Then she took the seat next to Keveelsky. Polycarp also became serious and took the seat on her right. Lorenti, who was silent all this time, asked, " How many years have you two known each other?" "Since middle school." he smiled at their chemistry. He was envious because he didn't meet his sister when they were younger.

Anybody could have guessed Polycarp was their younger real brother. Havilla, being a psychologist, noticed Lorenti's feelings; she served green peas and gave them to him, who was shocked that she knew his favorite food. "What about me?" asked Polycarp. She wanted to serve him too, but Keveelsky took it from her and said, "Find a wife to serve you." Polycarp kept quiet and ate silently as he sulked.

Everybody who watched the four burst into laughter again. Grandpa Delus thanked the Lord silently for bringing Havillah into their family. He could now die in peace knowing that someone who cared for and loved family just like him was a part of his family too. He asked God for a few years to watch the triplets grow, and he would die in peace. After meals, ls they went to play games in the living room.

Grandpa called his grandchildren to his study. The moment they entered, Polycarp started complaining, "Grandpa, I haven't been home for long, as I wanted to have more time with my sister.r" He ignored him and stated his point, "What are you planning for the future now that your sister is expecting? She won't be able to help your brother for long, and she will also need someone in the later days of her pregnancy. Are you willing to take fewer jobs in your company and help your brother manage our company?"

"I can help the family, but I'm already doing so." "How so?" "The company I'm signed with is sister Havi's, and I'm currently the vice president; not many know about it. I have to ask Beauty... oh, Sister Havi first because if I break the contract, I'll have to pay with half of my life savings." The two men were shocked. They wondered how much money she had and why she wasn't in Forbes. They were afraid her wealth alone could feed the whole country for 10 consecutive years.
