At Stan's mansion, Clarinda was nestled under Georgia's arm after an intense battle; they could each hear each other's heartbeat. Clarinda, with her ever-sweet voice, asked, "Babe, when should we announce our relationship to the public?" With a husky voice, Georgia answered, "No hurry, judging by Havila's character, she won't bother with us anymore. We are as good as dead to her now, that is why I don't want to rush it as if I am hiding something. I want everyone to accept our relationship, then I will skip the engagement part and marry you directly into my family."
Her first disappointment, when he praised Havila, dissipated when she heard the second part of the statement. She could finally have a title that has always been hers. She agreed with him and gave him a deep kiss. Mrs Stans, who was spying on them, also nodded her head with satisfaction. She came descended the stairs gracefully and pretended to have just noticed them. She teased them, " Get a room, you two." Then she passed by them and went directly into the kitchen.
She had planned to warm a cup of milk and please her husband, who had been gloomy since Havila left home. How she wished her daughter were pregnant at the moment so that they could get married quickly. She worried that after pretending to be in a relationship for several years, Georgia might have already cultivated feelings for Havila. Havila's case was different because she never knew everything was fake. She was already in love. Her daughter's pregnancy would have helped hasten their marriage. Too bad good things come slowly.
As a mother, she could always see the pain in her daughter's eyes when Georgia refused to do any of her requests due to Havila. She doubted whether Georgia loved Clarinda. The feelings were attachment, but not love, as they had been friends since childhood. Georgia also had not realized that he valued Havila more, which is why they had to hasten everything before he realizes.
Lency, who is Havila's best friend, came back from overseas, and coincidentally, they were on the same flight as Georgina. They alighted and were waiting for their luggage, then they both followed the private exit. There, Havila was waiting for both of them as they had notified her. It was funny that the two friends did not notify each other, but Havila did. She was there in her new Rolls-Royce waiting for both of them. When they noticed each other, they all ran towards Havila and vice versa.
They had a group hug, cried, laughed, and cried again. They missed each other, for it had been over five years since they last saw each other. Everyone had been busy with their education and work, so they never had time to visit. Georgina kept calling her sister in law, and for the umpteenth time, Havila pulled out from the hug and told them the truth. She caressed Georgina's cheeks and said, " Sweet babe, I am not your sister in law anymore, your brother and I broke up, and now he is my brother-in-law, I am already married."
She also could not believe that she was married just like that, without even a proposal, let alone the two girls. They were stunned by the news, but seeing her happy face, they felt happy for her. For a minute there, they thought she had found a random man to marry just for revenge, but seeing her bright eyes, they knew that was not the case. She was not one to hide her feelings from the people she loved. They hugged her again, and Havila said, " Come, let me treat you two to lunch."
They then went to their favorite hotel from five years ago and ordered their favorite meal. Lency then asked, "Come on, beautiful maiden, now tell us all that happened in our absence. Who is your husband? Be careful with your answer, because you might get a divorce if I am not convinced. Before you answer that, start with the bad news first. What happened between you and Georgia, because as long as I can remember, you were a lovely couple. That's why I don't believe in love, and once again, how come you are glowing? Is it not a fact that whoever is dumped should be haggard?"
Lency is always a parrot among the three of them, so the two girls allowed her to ask away all her worries. Georgina was also concerned for her sister in law, so she asked carefully because Lency had asked everything on her mind. " Yes, Havi, what happened?" Havila took a big gulp of her lemon juice and narrated, " It was on my twenty-first birthday,... and the rest is history." Georgina was hurt for her friend and also furious; she cursed, "That son of s bitch! I will kill him. How can he play with your feelings like that? I always thought he was a man of honor."
It was the first time for both girls to hear Georgina curse and talk too much. They were touched, as she took her friend's side instead of her brother's without a doubt. She continued, " I am disappointed in him big time. I now don't have my best friend as my sister in law anymore." She then broke down and cried as if she were the victim. Lency was furious as well, but she still joked while hugging Georgina, "Come on, babe, you still have a sister in law who is as beautiful, meek, and polite, you will learn to like her, so don't cry or I'll think you were the one heartbroken."
Lency cursed once more because of Georgina's words, " like your ass!" Then they all laughed, wiped their tears, and calmed down. Havila then said, "Positive energy only, babes, come on, I haven't seen you in five years, how are your love lives?" Lency answered first while blushing, " My dad still wants me to get married to that playboy prince, as it will boost his business. Business is more important to him, so that's why I escaped and came home immediately."
Havila noticed that Lency was blushing when she mentioned the prince and knew that she liked the prince, but she was insecure. She kept quiet, though, as she will tell them when she is ready. Georgina also said, " I am engaged as well, but as you both know, my parents still regard me as their little princess, so I am still hiding it from them. I am afraid hell will break loose if I tell them now."
