Kai's POV
My heart almost stopped beating when I saw the expression on my sister's face. The pain, the disappointment, confusion, anger, and even sadness were there. It was hard to look at those emotions, I couldn't take my eyes off of her, wishing this was just a bad dream.
"W-What did I hear?" Kei asked, almost a whisper.
My lips parted, unable to answer. I don't know what to say to her, but I know that I must confess everything now.
I took a step back when she entered and shut the door behind her. Her eyes were fixed on mine, like my answer is the most important.
I swallowed hard. "K-Kei…"
"Tell me I h-heard it wrong," her voice cracked as her eyes welled with tears.
My lips trembled as I slowly shook my head. "Kei, let me explain—"
"Explain what?" Her voice rose as she looked at Zane. "What will you explain? It was a misunderstanding, right? My ears were just fooling with me."
