Chapter 130 - Chapter 130: I Predict That God King Odin... Will Die Soon!

The facts spoke for themselves—after sitting atop the throne as Lord of the Nine Realms for countless millennia, Odin's arrogance had long since become fused into his very being. It wasn't just a trait anymore; it was a reflex. A posture. A way of life. He looked down on mortals, scoffing at their fragility, dismissing their achievements with the casual disdain of a being who had seen galaxies fall.

But Odin's contempt only extended to mortals.

There were exceptions.

The Sorcerer Supreme—that particular mortal—was not on his list of beings to overlook. Definitely not.

And so, when the name "Joseph Modu" left the lips of the magician in front of him, Odin's mind trembled.

For the briefest moment, he suspected he had misheard.

Had he gone deaf in one ear?

For thousands of years, he had maintained an unspoken agreement with the Sorcerer Supreme of Earth. It was never formalized, never written down—just a deep-rooted understanding between two ancient guardians of their respective realms: a pact of non-interference.

He abided by that pact.

He stayed out of Midgard's affairs.

And he had assumed—wrongly, it now seemed—that the Ancient One would do the same.

Yet now, here stood a magician of Kamar-Taj in the heart of Asgard.

Sent by the Ancient One.

Here.

Now.

In front of him.

Supporting a Mutant magician named Joseph.

Odin clenched his fists beneath his royal cloak. "What does that bald woman intend to do?" he thought, anger flaring behind his eyes. "Surely the Sorcerer Supreme only concerns herself with dimensional threats... beings like Dormammu or Mephisto... not minor political conflicts over mortals..."

So why was her envoy here?

Was this a warning? A demonstration of power? A veiled threat?

His thoughts spiraled in stunned silence. Rage mingled with confusion, both boiling beneath the surface of his otherwise impassive face. All the warriors and attendants surrounding the throne could sense it—even if they didn't hear the war drums in Odin's mind, they felt the sudden gravity in the room.

To them, it made no sense.

Kamar-Taj?

Sorcerer Supreme?

Why had their God King suddenly stiffened?

Why had the tone shifted?

Everyone's eyes turned toward him—waiting for a reaction.

Odin finally broke the silence.

His gaze swept coldly over the group of Earth's envoys. "Asgard respects strength," he declared, his voice like thunder wrapped in velvet. "You people of Earth have demonstrated enough might today. Therefore, you are worthy of speaking to Asgard as equals."

He paused.

"Thor."

"Yes, Father?"

"Prepare guest chambers for our visitors. Make sure they are treated with respect."

Thor blinked, caught off guard. "Yes, Father."

Odin gave one final, unreadable glance at Joseph before turning on his heel and walking away. The warriors of Asgard quickly followed, casting suspicious glances behind them as they went.

Joseph smiled faintly. Checkmate.

Thor remained behind, visibly trying to make sense of what had just happened. "That… went better than I expected."

Loki, off to the side, silently watched Odin's back. His eyes were unreadable.

Meanwhile, Diana, Storm, Phoenix, and Tony Stark were still trying to process what they had just witnessed. Their battle with Odin had left them bruised—physically and mentally. Even now, the echo of his power still rang through their bodies.

The God-King was not to be trifled with.

"What just happened?" Tony said flatly, turning to look at Joseph Modu.

Diana tilted her head, narrowing her eyes. "The Sorcerer Supreme of Kamar-Taj... That's the Ancient One, right?"

Tony nodded. "Yeah. I've heard of her. Taught a class once at Xavier's for the new X-Men."

"And Odin... just backed down? Because of her name?" Storm asked, eyes wide.

Joseph Modu didn't answer. His expression was grim.

Joseph, however, was calm as ever. Wanda stood beside him, giving a brief post-battle analysis of the techniques she'd used. Among all the students nurtured by the Oasis Academy, Wanda was the only one Joseph had chosen to keep near him. She was special—more than just a student.

Soon, Diana, Tony, Storm, and Phoenix all filed into the room.

"You don't rest?" Joseph asked with a light smile. "We just fought an entire contingent of Asgardians."

Tony didn't bother with banter. He walked straight to a chair and sat down, expression sharp. "Joseph, what are you playing at?"

He leaned forward, elbows on knees.

"Odin was furious back there. But don't think we didn't notice—you provoked him on purpose. You knew what would happen."

Diana folded her arms. "He's stronger than Ares," she said softly, eyes distant. "Much stronger. If Superman were here… I'm not sure even he could match that power."

Her words landed like a rock in the center of the room.

Storm and Phoenix exchanged uneasy glances.

Joseph nodded slowly. "You're not wrong. In Asgard, Odin might truly be invincible."

He turned his gaze toward Diana. "Which is exactly why I needed to see that for myself."

"You wanted to fight him?" Phoenix asked.

"No," Joseph replied. "I wanted to provoke him just enough… to see how far he would go. To understand his limits."

He stood up and walked toward a large window, staring out into the strange Asgardian sky.

"If we are to walk among stars," he said, "we must understand the powers that rule them. Odin is not just a god. He is the pinnacle of divine force—one of the pillars upon which the Nine Realms rest."

He paused.

"And I needed to know if my Seventh-Ring magic could hold up… if only for a moment."

Wanda's expression darkened.

"So you risked everything for a test?" Tony said.

Joseph shook his head. "No. I ensured the risk was minimal."

He looked over his shoulder at them. "Joseph Modu's presence guaranteed our safety. The moment he revealed his connection to the Sorcerer Supreme, Odin had to back down. He couldn't risk angering her."

"Still," Storm muttered, "that was reckless."

"Maybe," Joseph admitted. "But we gained something invaluable—confirmation."

"Confirmation of what?" Tony asked.

Joseph smiled again. That calm, knowing smile Tony had learned to dread.

"That Odin… is dying."

The room fell into shocked silence.

Phoenix's breath caught. Diana's eyes widened. Even Tony leaned back, stunned.

"What did you just say?" Diana asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Odin's life force is weakening," Joseph said, walking back toward them. "His aura fluctuates. His posture—though dignified—is guarded. His temper is unstable. He's hiding his fragility beneath fury."

He looked at Wanda and gently placed a hand on her head.

"The God-King… does not have long."
