Chapter 31 - Eternity

Looking at his current state however, the young man just couldn't help but think that he is anything but presentable, the leather tunic that he is wearing stained with blood crust that just refuses to come off, his hair completely roughed up by just how much he fought outside, and his smell that of someone who is drenched in blood of beast.

'Maybe that's also the reason why this apartment's owner just looks at me like that…' despite his love for cleanliness, his love for money shines more hence why he endured being bathed by the oozing blood of that canine monster carrying it all the way to the city instead of just letting it go, but still, feeling quite sticky from all the grime currently covering him, Azrael decided to clean himself up before going outside.

Taking his sweet time removing all the dust and dirt from the hard day of work, the young man still doesn't even take more than a quarter of an hour preparing himself, nodding at the mirror as he looks at his slightly more presentable self now.

"Damn I look good" holding his chin up using one of his hands, Azrael thought to himself proudly as he looks in the mirror, his appearance clearly that of someone who is in his mid to late twenties, and his looks doesn't pale in comparison to those good-looking people who can gather attention on themselves just existing.

Him not being well known though might be the result of the fact that while he always try to keep himself clean and free from any blood that he might often get in the battlefield, he always still, somehow, finds himself in situation that will make others find him unpresentable, especially since getting beaten and ganged up on by monsters is nothing but a mere Tuesday to him.

Now that he wasn't so loaded with fighting against beasts and monsters though, the young man couldn't help but appreciate himself in the mirror, thinking that while it might be a bit too narcissistic for him to do so, he sees no reason not to, after all, he truly thinks that he looks good.

Standing at a fairly tall height of over one hundred and eighty five centimeters already gives him an edge over other men of his age, and his build carved from the sweat of training relentlessly for over a decade just to conquer the hardest part of the Ethereal Tower's first floor elevates this appeal even more, a perfect proportion and a good stature making him appear more like a general in command of a large battlefield rather than a person who can barely fight with the creatures that will allow him to climb greater heights.

Not to mention his physical stature, his face can also make himself quite the money as well, having a more eastern feature, a sharp, carved face on it a slanted eyes with thick, sharp, sword-like eyebrows on top of them, giving him a sharp gaze that appears to pierce through the physical self, a straight tall nose connected to the ends of said eyebrows, giving him the more masculine appeal, leaning more on the proud yet mysterious look rather than anything else.

'Now that I think about it, maybe that's the reason why that Lucius often rants on how jealous he is with my appearance huh… that bastard looks quite lady-like after all…' recalling the proud, borderline arrogant expression often plastered on one of his acquaintance's face, Azrael thought to himself before shoving them on the back of his mind, thinking that there are more important things to do than just reminiscing about the past.

Nodding to himself, he opens the door of his residence, meeting him from the outside is the clamoring of the ascenders roaming the roads and streets at night, the image of a lively city being perfectly portrayed as the number of people outside doesn't pale in comparison to how many people there is outside during the day, these figures going to and from different places, most of them stalls and stores catered mostly to the needs of ascenders like them.

Heading outside, Azrael witnesses a lot of interesting stores that he wants to visit if he finds time and also, money for it, the latter being something that he can never get enough of.

'I have a lot of money to spend on gears and other stuff for the long trip, maybe I should try finding some good stuff to buy for now, I still need to stay here for some few more days to prepare for the long trip after all…' reasoning to himself as he recalls that he still has some over ninety gold coins in him, Azrael thought that he should find himself some interesting things to buy, his list mostly focused on some secondary weapons that he can use should he find himself on what he think is an unlikely situation where he couldn't use his favored Evil Fang Sword.

Keeping this in mind, he starts roaming around the shopping district of the city he is currently in, the lively atmosphere of customers and stall or store owners bantering for their preferred price lighten up the air all around, the other stall owners shouting and advertising their goods as great stuff also adding to the fun, despite most of them appearing to be just scammers trying to deceive some good money out of unsuspecting, rookie customers.

As Azrael's eyes roams around this place though, he takes a mental note of the things he finds interesting in those dubious stalls, taking his time to roam around first as he doesn't want to appear too eager on buying those things, knowing that such behavior will only result in him looking like someone easy to take advantage of in the eyes of those stall owners.

Continuing to roam around this district though, his eyes eventually got pulled in what appears to be quite the reputable store standing right in the very middle of this district, its towering height making it visible on all ends of the shopping district, but only now that he got close to it that Azrael can see the name of this clearly high-end shop.
