Chapter 107 - Chapter 109: Obito vs Kakashi

Black Zetsu was growing impatient.

He had planned everything. The opportunity was perfect. Obito stood behind Kakashi, poised for a clean strike. The Copy Ninja had no idea he was being watched, distracted as always at the Konoha Memorial Stone, staring at the names of the dead.

But just as Zetsu was about to whisper for Obito to attack—

Kakashi vanished from his original spot.

And reappeared right in front of Obito.

A short sword in hand, Kakashi thrust the blade cleanly through Obito's neck.

"You again…!" Kakashi hissed, his expression sharpening in recognition.

Though he'd fought this masked figure before, he had only sensed hostility a moment earlier. He hadn't expected it to be him again.

Obito's one visible Sharingan narrowed coldly. He reached out and caught Kakashi's sword arm, locking it tight. His voice was low and venomous.

"Kakashi… this eye is wasted on you. You don't deserve it."

Kakashi's heart skipped. So that's what this was about?

He's after my Sharingan…?

But why? Obito already had one! If he needed another, why not seek out a member of the Uchiha Clan?

Unless… Kakashi realized grimly—he was alone. An easy target.

Before Kakashi could react, Obito's eye began to spin, forming a space-time vortex.

The scenery around them blurred. Kakashi's body felt like it was being pulled apart by invisible hands. Obito had activated Kamui—and dragged them both into his own dimension.

Black Zetsu let out a slow breath from the shadows.

"Finally… no more interference from Konoha or Uchiha Andrew…"

He knew Andrew's Mangekyō Sharingan could ignore spatial defense—but even Andrew couldn't reach inside Kamui space if he couldn't see the target. With Kakashi inside, Obito was safe—for now.

---

Inside Kamui Space

The endless void of the Kamui dimension twisted unnaturally. Everything was gray and surreal, like the inside of a dream.

Kakashi stumbled, disoriented from the spatial warp. Without Obito's eye, traveling through Kamui space hit him like a sledgehammer. He dropped to one knee, panting.

"Pathetic," Obito muttered.

He raised a hand, channeling Senjutsu chakra to form a black receiver rod, infused with Yin-Yang energy. He intended to stab Kakashi with it—to control him, maybe even rip the eye from his head.

But Kakashi, though dazed, wasn't finished yet.

With a burst of movement, Kakashi surged forward and parried the rod with his kunai. The two clashed with a resounding spark, and Kakashi was sent skidding backward several steps.

Obito's attacks came fast. Too fast. His strikes were sharp, efficient—killing blows. Yet something was off. He wasn't finishing the fight.

He was holding back.

Kakashi noticed it.

Despite Obito's power—despite having the upper hand—he continued to rely only on basic taijutsu and mid-level ninjutsu. It felt less like an execution, and more like… a spar between two former teammates.

"Fire Style: Great Fireball Technique!" Obito roared.

"Water Style: Water Barrier!" Kakashi countered.

Flames and water collided, creating an explosion of mist that flooded the battlefield. Visibility dropped instantly, and both figures vanished into the haze.

Kakashi smiled to himself. This was his plan.

He was at a disadvantage—the Sharingan taxed him constantly, and without it, he couldn't properly use techniques like Raikiri. Worse, Obito's Sharingan didn't seem to suffer the same limitations.

So Kakashi used the water mist as a smokescreen. To blind the Sharingan. To buy himself time.

And yet... something still bothered him.

There was something familiar about the masked man. Not just in his fighting style—but his movements, his timing, even his chakra signature. It felt like… he had known this person.

"Got you."

A voice whispered behind him.

"Wood Style: Cutting Technique!"

A wooden spike erupted from the mist, spearing through Kakashi's body.

But—boom! It exploded into smoke.

A shadow clone.

Before Obito could react, **a piercing shriek filled the air—**a familiar sound to any shinobi.

Chidori.

A lightning-coated blade pierced through the mist, aimed directly at Obito's head.

"Chidori—Raikiri!"

Kakashi appeared from the side, his left eye glowing—a sign that he'd temporarily unsealed the Sharingan.

Obito's head twitched—but not in panic. In… admiration?

"Thunder God. Not bad."

Kakashi's strike passed through without resistance. Obito had phased again, using Kamui to make himself intangible.

But Kakashi was already moving.

His other hand shot forward—dagger drawn—and slashed at Obito's waist.

This time, the blade hit.

A deep gash opened in Obito's side.

"Got you."

Kakashi confirmed it by feel. The blade had met resistance. The intangibility had a weakness.

Obito's Hollow technique wasn't perfect.

Obito staggered back, gripping his side as blood trickled from the wound. He was stunned.

"You… actually hit me."

Only Namikaze Minato had managed that before—aside from Andrew, whose eye technique could bypass dimensions entirely.

And now Kakashi… a man who had relied on Obito's eye for most of his life… had figured it out.

"Hatake swordsmanship." Obito muttered. "I really underestimated you. But… how long can you keep that up?"

Kakashi didn't answer.

His chest heaved. Sweat rolled down his forehead. Releasing Chidori and reactivating the Sharingan had drained him. And he knew it.

He also knew Obito had Wood Style, and his wound was already beginning to regenerate. Just like the First Hokage… or Madara.

His healing, his stamina, and his techniques far surpassed Kakashi's.

The odds weren't good.

---

Obito stood straight again, the wound nearly closed.

"Let's end this." he said coldly. "I was going to reminisce a little longer, but this is pointless. I don't need you in my world—not anymore."

Kakashi narrowed his eyes.

Was this it?

---

Suddenly—

A tremor ran through the Kamui space.

Both men paused.

Outside, something had changed.

Something—or someone—had disturbed the dimensional barrier.

Obito's eyes narrowed.

"No… he's here."

Kakashi looked confused.

"Who?"

But Obito didn't answer.

---

Elsewhere in Konoha, Uchiha Andrew opened his eyes, standing alone on a cliff overlooking the village.

His Sharingan spun slowly.

"Obito. You really thought I wouldn't notice?"

He stared toward the Memorial Stone in the distance.

"Kamui is clever, but it's not absolute. And if you touch Kakashi again…"

He raised his hand, and the sky itself seemed to ripple.

"I'll reach in and drag you out myself."
