Chapter 370 - SFDI: Chapter 370

When Drake and Stella arrived at the center of Bania Village, where Gilthunder had planted his sword, they didn't find Meliodas.

From the complaints of the surrounding villagers, Drake learned what had happened.

Although the Boar Hat tavern was constantly moving from place to place, it often visited Bania Village, as it was famous for its Bania Ale.

So, the villagers all knew the "little kid boss," and he had arrived in the village just as the unwilling villagers were trying to pull out the sword again.

At that time, the child who had thrown a bug into Gilthunder's cup before had run over again, even claiming to be friends with the wanted criminals, the Seven Deadly Sins.

As a result, the child and Meliodas had been chased away by the villagers.

By the time Drake and Stella arrived, they only saw a silver-haired girl talking to the village chief.

The girl was none other than Elizabeth Liones, the third princess of the Kingdom of Liones, and the reincarnated Goddess.

Stella glanced at Elizabeth, saying, "Is that the female lead of this world that you mentioned, Drake? I don't sense any special power from her. But her taste in clothing is pretty daring!"

Drake chuckled; Elizabeth was indeed a genuine human at the moment. Even he couldn't sense the unawakened magic power of the Goddess Clan.

As for Stella's comment about her taste in clothing, that Boar Hat waitress uniform wasn't something Elizabeth wanted to wear; it was Meliodas' own "interest."

Elizabeth finished speaking with the village chief and left. Stella tugged on Drake's sleeve, saying, "She's leaving; should we follow her?"

Drake nodded, and the two followed Elizabeth from a distance, eventually arriving before that uniquely styled building.

While Stella was examining the Boar Hat's sign, Drake looked at the ground beneath his feet.

Beneath him was the solidified form of the most powerful force in this world, but perhaps because the seal on the Mother of Chaos had been placed by the Demon King and the Supreme Deity together, even though he knew where the power was, Drake couldn't sense its true form.

"Drake, what are you spacing out for!"

Hearing Stella's voice, Drake snapped out of it, responding with a nod before pushing open the door and walking inside.

Having studied magic from so many worlds, Drake had long understood one principle: there was no such thing as a perfect seal. Even gods couldn't achieve it.

That was why so many villains were always able to break free from their seals in the end, only to run into the protagonist and be defeated.

Did the people who initially sealed the villains not want a permanent solution? It was just that there was no such thing as a sealing technique that was completely without flaws.

So, Drake never thought about sealing enemies; destroying them was the best way to seal them.

After studying for a while, Drake would eventually find a way to glimpse the power of Chaos. What was most important right now was to meet the protagonist of this world, Meliodas.

And Drake immediately saw the blonde youth, who looked to be only eleven or twelve years old, sitting at a table.

He first glanced at the strangely shaped "hilt" behind Meliodas, then Drake looked at Meliodas, who was holding a wine glass.

The handle of the wine glass in Meliodas' hand developed fine cracks the moment he saw the two people walk into the tavern.

His excellent intuition had allowed Meliodas to sense danger at the first moment; it wasn't related to malice, but purely because of the other party's strength that he felt this way.

For a moment, he had been unable to control his power, and had cracked the handle of the wine glass.

Meliodas couldn't help but wonder when such strong individuals had appeared in the Kingdom of Liones… no, in Britannia.

That's right; not just that man, but even the girl behind him possessed terrifying power.

However, while pondering these questions, Meliodas' first priority was protecting Elizabeth.

But he really didn't have much confidence; with the power he had left, he might not even be able to escape with Elizabeth.

His brain cells working at full speed, Meliodas said, "Welcome, customers, but our shop isn't open yet; please come back later if you want a drink!"

Although he said that, Meliodas had decided that if these people actually left, he would run away immediately.

Drake smiled, saying, "We're not here to drink; we were wondering if you needed any staff here?"

Meliodas was taken aback, saying, "You're here to apply for a job?"

Drake said, "That's right; you probably need some help at your tavern, right? We're both travelers, and should be able to help out."

Meliodas put down his wine glass, and whether it was his imagination or not, he felt that Drake's words had a hidden meaning.

His intuition told him that the other party wasn't an enemy, and could even help him achieve his thousand-year-old wish.

At this time, Meliodas chose to trust his intuition; most importantly, he hadn't sensed any malice from Drake.

So, he said, "I agree! From now on, you're both employees of the Boar Hat!"

Drake smiled, saying, "Then please take care of us, Captain!"

A pink pig walked over, saying, "I'm also a member of this establishment, the captain of the leftover disposal squad, Hawk."

Drake squatted down, saying, "I'm Drake, and that's Stella over there. Then let's get along well from now on! Hawk-senpai."

The title of "senpai" immediately put Hawk in a good mood, saying, "You're a pretty good guy, wow!"

Stella had already seen talking cats, so she wasn't too surprised to see a talking pig. However, Hawk's cute appearance still made her come over and start petting him.

While Hawk and Stella were greeting each other, Drake looked into Hawk's eyes, his gaze becoming profound.

Meliodas was one of the most important pawns for the Demon King's resurrection, and the Demon King naturally wouldn't let him roam freely in Britannia.

And Hawk himself was a creature from Purgatory, sent to Britannia by the Demon King to monitor Meliodas.

Hawk's eyes were connected to Purgatory, connected to the Demon King, that apex of dark power.

Elizabeth walked over, saying, "Welcome to the team; my name is Elizabeth, and I just joined a few days ago."

Drake averted his gaze, and also greeted Elizabeth.

Just then, a commotion came from outside, and the child named Mead, fearing that something had happened to the village, ran out.

Meliodas and Elizabeth also quickly followed, and even Stella went to join in on the fun.

Drake, however, had no intention of going to take a look, and stayed in the tavern by himself.

It was just two kingdom soldiers looking for trouble; nothing unexpected would happen.

And Drake was drawn to the wanted posters on the wall.

Drake didn't understand what the person who made the wanted posters had been thinking; four out of the seven were completely wrong.

It was understandable that the images of King, the Grizzly's Sin of Sloth, and Gowther, the Goat's Sin of Lust, had problems, since the two had completely disguised their true appearances.

But the images of Meliodas and Escanor were way off.

If they were trying to catch people based on those wanted posters, they wouldn't be able to catch anyone. Of course, even if the images were accurate, no one had the strength to capture the Seven Deadly Sins.

However, the images of the two strongest and most dangerous members were wrong; was the kingdom doing it on purpose?

Looking around, Drake saw a small bookshelf in the corner of the tavern. It had a few books on it, and Drake looked at them, finding that most of them were cookbooks.

What surprised Drake the most was that there was also a Britannia travelogue, which he took down from the shelf and started to read.

Before he had even turned two pages, Meliodas and the others returned. And Stella told Drake what had happened.

Just like in the original story, two soldiers had tried to extort the villagers. Spurred on by Mead's desperate attempt to pull out the sword, the villagers had been awakened by the village chief's scolding, and had finally worked together to face their difficulties.

And Meliodas had also lent a hand, pulling out the sword and restoring the village's water source.

In the evening, the villagers gathered at the Boar Hat, celebrating the restoration of the water source.

Drake finally witnessed Meliodas' magical cooking skills. How did he manage to make food that looked delicious, but was actually terribly unpalatable?

There was no way around it; since he had agreed to be a staff member, Drake couldn't just watch the customers be scared away by the food. So, Drake grabbed a cookbook and went into the kitchen.

Even with his ability to control flames, Drake wasn't good at cooking. The dishes he made were only average, but they were still better than Meliodas' inedible food.

In any case, Drake was only temporary; once the Fox's Sin of Greed, Ban, returned, they would naturally have an excellent chef.

Suddenly, Drake sensed a surge of magic power. Pushing open the door to the kitchen, he saw that only Stella and Hawk were in the main hall.

Stella also had a serious expression on her face, and Drake raised his hand, signaling her not to worry, before asking, "Where did the Captain and Elizabeth go?"

Hearing Drake's question, Hawk said, "Who knows; that Meliodas just left; he must have gone to slack off!"

Drake took off his apron, saying, "I see; I'll go take a look!"

Saying this, Drake stepped outside, seeing the two talking outside.

Drake walked over, saying, "Captain, it's alright for me to handle that, right?"

Meliodas had also sensed something approaching, and had come out to deal with it.

Hearing Drake's words, Meliodas smiled, saying, "Then I'll leave it to you."

Drake waved his hand, indicating that it was a small matter, and then turned to look at the night sky.

Even Elizabeth had seen the blue light streaking across the night sky; it was a spear wrapped in lightning, flying towards them.

Drake stepped forward, and grabbed the spear in his hand. He only took half a step back before regaining his balance. The lightning on the spear wrapped around Drake, constantly crackling.

But in the next second, the lightning dissipated, replaced by surging flames.

"It was flying from that direction, at a distance of about 7.3 miles!"

Drake estimated the spear's trajectory, pinpointed the target, and then threw the spear back.

Gilthunder had gone too far; even if he was pretending to be cold in order to protect the princess, he shouldn't have endangered innocent people.

The power of that spear was enough to flatten half the village; he hadn't considered what would have happened if Meliodas had left early, and no one had caught the spear.

So, Drake wouldn't let him get away with just a little blood. Regardless of the motive, people should always pay the price for their actions.

At the Solgales Fortress, 7.3 miles away from Bania Village, the building that had originally been constructed from solid square stones had been leveled, and soldiers were running around with water, trying to put out the flames on the ruins.

Just now, a spear wrapped in flames had flown from the horizon, directly flattening the originally impregnable fortress.

Amidst the flames, Gilthunder, his armor shattered and blood dripping from his mouth, staggered out.

He certainly recognized that as the spear he had thrown earlier, but he hadn't expected it to be thrown back by someone.

He had received a report from a soldier that a child had pulled out the sword he had planted in Bania Village. He had subconsciously thought of Meliodas.

In order to test whether Meliodas had really appeared, and also to display his "coldness" before the many soldiers, he had thrown that spear.

But the power on the spear that had flown back wasn't Meliodas' power; it was a strange power, and a power that was even stronger than he had imagined.

He had used all his strength, but hadn't been able to catch that spear, and not only was he severely injured, but even the fortress had been leveled by the residual power.

Gilthunder couldn't help but cough, and crimson blood dripped to the ground, causing Gilthunder to reveal a wry smile.

He had done so many things that went against his principles over the years, and this time he had finally tasted the bitter fruit of his actions, in addition to the pangs of conscience.

However, Gilthunder also felt a glimmer of hope; from a distance of 7.3 miles, that spear still had such great power. The appearance of such a strong individual, along with the reappearance of the Seven Deadly Sins, might change the kingdom's perilous situation.
