After draining one of the strange bottles, Logan felt a cool and refreshing feeling run through his body. With dinner finished, he decided to squeeze in some physical training before bed.
Walking through his training room, Logan glanced at the stacked weapon rack in the corner.
He approached the racks, looking through them carefully.
''What weapon do I want?'' he asked himself, brushing his fingers against the blades. ''Do I even want to use a weapon?''
Logan picked up a spear, gave it a few test swings, then set it back down.
''It feels good, but it doesn't feel perfect,'' he muttered, walking down the rack of weapons.
He tried a sword next, but put it back just as fast after a few awkward swings.
''That doesn't feel good at all,'' he said.
Looking at all the weapons, Logan didn't even recognize half of them.
''It might be better to let Silas help me choose one based on my body,'' Logan said, walking away from the weapons.
Logan moved over to the training machines. Planning to work on his stamina, he hopped on one of the treadmills.
''Training level 1, please,'' Logan said, activating a screen on the treadmill.
The screen flashed a blue light as a massive hologram came to live, fully surrounding Logan.
Logan's surroundings changed to a massive tunnel. Rocky spikes hung everywhere, with the only light source being the mana crystals on the ceiling.
Switched to a standard terrain setting, Logan's surroundings rapidly changed. Now, he was standing on a concrete road with two large wheat fields on both sides.
Starting his run, Logan enjoyed looking at the peaceful fields around him.
'I really should use these kinds of machines more,' he thought, smiling.
Beneath his feet, the treadmill adjusted to mimic the structure of real pavement.
'This is amazing,' Logan thought, smiling.
Unlike cheap treadmills, the one Logan was on allowed movement in all directions which was needed to avoid cars and other obstacles during the run.
Running at an average pace of 12 miles per hour, Logan managed to run one and a half hours before he couldn't go on any longer.
Sitting down on the ground beside the machine, Logan panted while drinking one of the hydration liquids.
'Before my breakthrough, I could barely go on for 40 minutes,' he thought, taking a sip. 'The breakthrough really strengthened my body greatly.'
As he headed to the shower, Logan suddenly stopped in his tracks.
''That's right,'' he muttered, remembering his body temperature. ''I wonder how those are now. I'll need to heat the water to the same temperature as my skin.''
At the same time, he also realized something else.
''I technically don't need to take any showers anymore,'' he said. ''My body will get rid of any filth within seconds.''
''Just like my sweat must've also evaporated,'' Logan continued, nodding. ''That certainly is nice.''
Despite his body being clean, Logan still wanted to take a short shower.
He set the water to match his body temperature and stepped under the stream.
The water falling on his naked body hissed, slowly evaporating as it slid down his body.
'I guess that was to be expected,' Logan thought, glad he at least managed to wash his hair.
After the shower, Logan quickly went to bed, excited for the next day.
'I can't wait to see what I get from the system this time,' he thought, looking at the cooldown floating beside him.
Falling asleep quietly, Logan dreamed about the breakthrough he'd made.
The next day, Logan woke up at 7 AM.
He ate his breakfast while scrolling through reports, before a message popped up, showing him someone stood in front of his door.
Finishing his last bite, Logan confirmed it was Silas before opening the door and letting him in.
''So, how does it feel?'' Silas asked, grinning.
''How does what feel?'' Logan asked, looking strangely at Silas.
''The results from your breakthrough,'' Silas said, throwing himself on a couch.
''Ah,'' Logan said, nodding. ''It feels amazing. I've never felt this strong before.''
''Alright, good.'' Silas smiled. ''Remember that feeling.''
''Why? What's going on?'' Logan asked, not understanding.
''That's how you'll feel waking up after training every single time,'' Silas continued, no longer smiling. ''And sometimes, something as simple as that can be incredibly motivating to push through the worst training.''
Logan sat in silence, not expecting something like that at all.
''Shall we begin now?'' Silas asked, standing up with a large smile again.
The next three hours were pure hell, Silas didn't give him any breaks and pushed him through his limits many times. Most of it was inside a gravity room he hadn't even known existed, performing simple strength exercises until the muscles in his body were pushed to their limits.
''Alright, time to get you something to eat,'' Silas said, looking at Logan before walking away.
Logan lay flat on the ground, breathing heavily while his entire body ached from the exercises.
A few minutes later, Silas walked in with a plate of food and some of the hydration drinks.
''So, did you enjoy that?'' Silas asked, sitting down beside Logan.
Still gasping, Logan managed to squeeze out a few words. ''Yes... it was... great.''
''Good motivation,'' Silas praised him, while handing him a bottle of hydration water.
Drinking the entire bottle in one go, Logan's breathing slowed down.
Silas handed Logan a plate filled with cooked meat from an unknown creature.
Logan immediately dug in, his body screaming at him in hunger.
''Have you thought about using a weapon yet?'' Silas asked, watching Logan eat.
''I've thought about it,'' Logan responded, his mouth filled to the brim with meat.
''And? You found one you like?'' Silas asked, showing a simple smile.
Watching Logan eat like that made him remember the two spoiled brats that used to be the heirs to the family.
'Those brats would never eat like this,' he thought, saddened at the thought. 'They would even throw away good food because they didn't like the way it was made.'
''Yes and no,'' Logan responded after swallowing. ''But I figured I would wait on you or Edric to help me since I have no idea what suits my body.''
''Smart,'' Silas nodded. ''Let's see what suits you the best now.''
Using his wind affinity, Silas pulled all the training weapons off their stands and let them fly over to Logan.
