Chapter 131
Godzilla can't fly. If he could, he'd already be up there grabbing the Star God fragments.
'Makes me think of Quetzalcoatl in FGO. I'd love to grab a Star God fragment and stick it on top of my temple as a sun.'
[Then you should catch it.]
'Haha, I would if I could—but you're not exactly letting me.'
Obviously, Godzilla can't fly. Since the dark history of the second-generation Godzilla, that possibility was strangled to death.
He cannot fly in this life. If he ever did, he'd lose all his strength and leave behind an eternal black mark on his history. Unless he killed every being in the universe to erase the witnesses, flying was absolutely forbidden.
Space Godzilla, however, is a different story. He isn't really "Godzilla," but something else—an imitation and a mutation. Right now, he was feeling smug.
The traits of a cosmic creature shone through him. He swallowed the Star God fragment in one gulp, ignoring the violent surge of energy inside his body. The fragment raged, burned, and tried to escape, but Space Godzilla clamped down tight, forcing it into his core.
There aren't many beings alive who can eat a Star God.
The Burner howled inside him, but instead of bursting free, its essence turned into raw power, filling the crystal spines jutting from his back. Space Godzilla's strength leapt to another tier.
'Exciting.'
Godzilla wasn't afraid. To be honest, Space Godzilla wasn't that strong before, but now he'd reached parity.
'Come then. Show me what you've got.'
Godzilla dug his feet in, waiting.
Space Godzilla's body throbbed with excess power—he needed a release. But he couldn't open his mouth, or the Burner would escape. That didn't stop him.
The crystal spines on his back flared. Light gathered, condensed, and then more than a dozen beams of energy ripped outward, slamming into Godzilla and the surrounding Necron fleet.
A frigate was torn apart instantly, no chance of repair. Several of the beams struck Godzilla too.
'Damn it, I don't have this move! Why does he?'
[It only looks like the real Godzilla's back ray. It's not the same ability.]
Godzilla's energy shield absorbed the brunt of it. His asymmetric stance diverted most of the impact away from his body. Even so, the explosions ravaged the ground, leaving fiery craters that lit up the sky.
'Huh?'
Godzilla noticed his shield trembling. Space Godzilla's beams had actually shaken it.
'Not bad. So the Star God fragments really are that powerful.'
[It's normal to be stronger when you're full.]
Instead of fear, Godzilla's eyes burned brighter.
'Yes… stronger! That's what I like.'
The stronger the enemy, the more alive he felt.
But Overlord Larek wasn't nearly as thrilled.
"This beast swallowed the Star God fragment? Even the fragments we dare not unleash without a super-dimensional maze—and he eats it raw?"
Priests and guards whispered uneasily.
"What irony. The predator becomes the prey. The devourer devoured."
Larek's green eyes flickered with a sour mood. In minutes, he'd already lost several warships. His heart ached.
"Have those damn orks been cleared out?"
"The greenskins that boarded have been eliminated."
"Good. Prepare the Black Hole Cannon."
The tech-priests manning the consoles froze.
"Ah?!"
But one look at Larek's expression silenced them. They obeyed.
The Necrons' arsenal brimmed with forbidden weapons. Among them, the Black Hole Cannon—a device that created a controllable singularity, swallowing anything in its path. Few things could withstand it.
Meanwhile, Space Godzilla kept hammering at his rival, ignoring the Necron ship nearby.
Godzilla retaliated. His radioactive breath roared upward, lancing into the sky like an anti-aircraft barrage. Explosions and gunfire framed their duel like a symphony of destruction.
Space Godzilla's shield held, but damage from earlier weakened it. Cracks spread. Ten seconds later, the shield collapsed.
Godzilla's ray tore into him, blasting his chest and hurling him to the ground with a thunderous crash.
Dust and fire surged skyward.
Space Godzilla staggered back to his feet, energy still swirling in his core—but flight was out of the question.
'On the ground? That's my home turf.'
Godzilla surged forward, eager for close combat. The air around the two titans burned at a lethal temperature. Anything smaller that approached would be reduced to ash.
In melee, Space Godzilla had no advantage. Godzilla pummeled him mercilessly. The Star God fragment's gift was wasted.
"Even relying on outside power, you can't defeat my god."
'Who the hell do you think I am?!'
Each blow drove Space Godzilla back. Though only 80 meters tall, Godzilla unleashed the momentum of a hundred-meter titan.
'I'm a stunt double. I've mastered every kind of kaiju wrestling move. You think you can beat me? Keep dreaming!'
He spun, tail lashing. The serrated fin at its tip sliced forward.
The strike nearly cut Space Godzilla in half. He barely dodged, taking the blow across his chest instead. A wound split open so deep that his crystalline skeleton gleamed through the gore.
He endured it, his cells fighting to regenerate, but the pain was real. And unless something changed, defeat was certain.
And then it did.
Larek's flagship descended, lowering its hull. One of the ports twisted open, a void-dark glow inside. Larek raised his hand.
"Black Hole Cannon—fire!!!"
A sphere of collapsing darkness launched, reality bending around it. It tore through space toward the dueling monsters.
Both titans noticed. But noticing didn't mean avoiding.
The singularity swallowed them whole.
