Chapter 130 - Chapter 130

Chapter 130

The first victim was an Elegy-class assault ship—the most common warship in the Necron fleets.

Godzilla had tangled with one before and found its regenerative abilities irritating. But now, brimming with stolen fire from the C'tan shard, he unleashed his full wrath.

A crimson beam erupted from his jaws, cutting diagonally through the ship from below, slicing its massive body like paper. The ray speared upward into the void, a pillar of red light that split the heavens.

Overlord Ralek froze in disbelief.

"Are my optics malfunctioning?"

Even the smallest Elegy-class dwarfed Godzilla in size—yet it had been cored straight through. The ship staggered, energy writhing within its hull, and then detonated from the inside.

The explosion shredded it utterly. Its fragments fell like rain, never to be reassembled. Not even Necron technology could mend such ruin.

"…I wasn't mistaken," Ralek muttered, pressing a hand to his metal forehead. "By the Silent King, how long did I sleep? What has my world become?!"

Of course, he felt no actual headache.

The loss of one assault ship did not trouble him. It was the smallest, after all. His pride was his flagship: a Tomb-class ship, a vessel over fifteen kilometers long, vast enough to make Imperial battleships look modest. Its pyramids were more than ornaments—they were cathedrals of annihilation.

That, surely, was beyond Godzilla's ability to destroy.

Or so Ralek told himself.

Meanwhile, Godzilla's spines glowed, his body steaming with vented heat. The Burning One's firestorm had only charged him further.

'Not bad. These Star God fragments make excellent batteries. I should collect a few as power banks.'

Indeed, many fragments still existed. Even the Emperor himself had sealed one away long ago.

[Forget the big ones. Even the Necrons treat them as treasures. They're dangerous to release, and harder still to capture.]

'Fine. Then at least tell me this—are there female Star Gods?'

[…Why do you ask these things mid-battle? But yes. Some shards manifest female forms. The Deceiver, for instance, once appeared as a human governor—female.]

'I want one.'

[FOCUS! You're about to be targeted by more than a dozen cruisers!]

'Tch. Warhammer 40K runs on chaos. You think they'll get a clean shot at me?'

Sure enough, as Necron ships aligned their weapons, a thunderous WAAAGH! rolled across the skies.

From the horizon came a tide of Orks. Bikes roared across the land, ramshackle planes sputtered through the sky, and towering walkers and zeppelins lumbered toward the Necron fleet.

The greenskins were furious. Their brawl between Godzilla and SpaceGodzilla had been interrupted—and that was intolerable.

"Wot git's messin' wiv our show?!"

"I'll krump 'em into scrap!!"

Even mid-battle, their excitement was undimmed. Some Orks had been gambling on the kaiju fight. Now, cheated of entertainment, they turned their fury on the Necrons.

In true Ork fashion, a mob shoved one of their mates into a missile tube and fired him skyward. The Ork whooped in joy as the rocket carried him screaming toward a Necron ship.

Even Godzilla paused, impressed.

'…I feel ashamed. That's… that's genius.'

High above, an Ork warboss stood on the tallest spire of their city, axe in hand, bellowing into a crude vox system:

"Lads! Chop dem bonemen to bits! And don't worry 'bout yer grub tabs—I'll send the bill to Godzilla! Don't let 'im lose!"

It was as effective as any warcry. The Orks erupted into frenzy, their Waaagh! energy surging. Win or lose, they would fight to the last.

This was the Orks. The only true conscience in the grim darkness of the far future.

Ralek's fleet suddenly found itself mobbed. Orks swarmed even his flagship, though his praetorians swiftly cut them down. Still, the overlord's optics flickered with unease. Perhaps… retreat was wise.

But before he could decide, SpaceGodzilla moved.

He had taken longer to absorb energy than Godzilla, but now he was full—overcharged even. His crystalline spines burned red, blazing like a miniature sun.

He opened his maw and unleashed a storm of red-yellow lightning. The beam lanced directly toward Ralek's flagship, striking the temple at its heart.

Ralek's optics widened.

"…He knows I'm here!?"

Indeed, SpaceGodzilla had sensed the Necron command nexus—and Ralek as its hub.

The Tomb Ship answered instantly, unleashing its full arsenal. Crescent arrays blazed, walls of emerald energy lashing out to counter the kaiju's storm.

For the first time in an age, Ralek felt… fear.

"What are these monsters?"

His ships had no void shields; they relied on their impossible armor. But even that might not hold against such power.

And worse—his C'tan shard was failing.

The Burning One had grown enraged, its flames surging like a miniature sun. Yet even as it gathered strength, SpaceGodzilla swooped toward it.

The shard tried to evade, fire trailing like a comet—but the kaiju pursued relentlessly.

From the ground, Godzilla tilted his head.

'So this is what Groudon sees in those Pokémon battles.'

He didn't interfere. He wanted to know just how far SpaceGodzilla could go.

And then SpaceGodzilla did the unthinkable.

He caught the Burning One—grappled the blazing god-shard—and with a guttural roar, swallowed it whole.
