Chapter 107
'Hey, isn't this Banha? Aren't you supposed to be protecting that angel cub?!'
Kabanha and the Blood Angels were mortal enemies, but at the same time he had that strange obsession— I alone can kill the Angels, no one else!
That's why, despite his hatred, he sometimes acted like he was loyal.
Mostly because he had been beaten half to death by the Blood Angels more times than he could count.
Now, another challenge stood before him—Godzilla.
Nearby Khorne demons gave Kabanha sympathetic looks, as if they had already seen his tragic ending.
But Kabanha didn't care. He just wanted blood.
"Come on, Godzilla! Face me!!!"
With a roar, Kabanha flapped his wings, charging forward with his massive axe.
"When I chop you down, I'll head for Baal next! That winged one is mine too!!!"
That was Khorne to the core!
Kabanha hurled himself at Godzilla, and Godzilla reacted instantly. A red blur rushed at his face—what else could he do?
Of course, slap it.
Godzilla swung a claw, and the charging Kabanha was smacked straight into the ground like a fly. In this region, where the Warp's power was suppressed, how could a Khorne daemon hope to fight Godzilla?
The sheer humiliation of it was beyond belief.
"You're just gonna lie down now?"
"If I go back like this, I'll be laughed to death."
Kabanha growled, struggling to push himself up. But the moment he raised his head, Godzilla's massive foot came stomping down.
"Gan—!"
He cursed, rolling awkwardly to the side. If that foot had landed, his body would've been crushed flat.
But dodging Godzilla didn't save him. A 20-meter-long lizard-beast pounced, clamping its jaws onto his neck and grinding him into the dirt.
The once-fearsome Kabanha was reduced to a pitiful mess.
Even the demons watching felt their morale collapse.
How could they fight this?
"Sure enough, Godzilla's presence completely changes the battlefield."
Trazyn the Infinite looked on, almost laughing. Even as a skeleton, the Necron collector still had the heart of a morbid historian. He had never seen the forces of Chaos so powerless.
They had thrown everything at him—ordinary daemons, greater daemons, even Chaos Titans—and not one could stop Godzilla. Just facing him was enough to break minds.
If not for Cadia's layered void shields, the planet would already have been wiped out by orbital fire. But with Godzilla's arrival, the frontline stood firm.
Yet Godzilla himself looked up at the looming Planet Killer. He wasn't sure Cadia could be saved.
'Cadia's fate isn't my concern. The Blackstone Array doesn't interest me.'
'Not even the Blackstone Fortress. Someday I'll build something bigger, louder, more WAAAGH than that. The Fortress would only limit my inspiration.'
The daemons, seeing no chance, began to retreat. Chaos cultists dropped to their knees in fear.
"Amazing…"
Lord Creed of Cadia watched as Godzilla roared, scattering millions of daemons. He couldn't help but whisper:
"Is this… the god known even to the Emperor? I am faithful to the God-Emperor, but let me pay my respect to this one as well."
He bowed deeply toward Godzilla, giving him the respect owed to a god of war.
Godzilla didn't notice. His eyes had locked on the sky.
The countdown in his vision wasn't finished, but the Planet Killer's energy build-up was halting.
Abaddon was panicking. The Phalanx and the Eldar Ark were both closing in. If he hesitated, the Planet Killer would be destroyed.
So he flipped the table.
"Planet Killer!" Abaddon roared, raising his daemon sword.
"Fire—now!!!"
The super-weapon's charge stopped. The timer in Godzilla's eyes still showed over an hour remaining, but Abaddon had no choice.
'He's desperate. Can't wait any longer.'
Abaddon didn't care about daemons—they'd respawn. He didn't care about cultists or Chaos Space Marines—expendable. Even whole warbands weren't as valuable as his doomsday ship.
"FIRE!!!"
The Planet Killer's main gun roared. Imagine one side of the Phalanx, covered end-to-end with fortress cannons—then amplify it tenfold. Even Godzilla himself, if caught in that barrage, might be annihilated.
And it was aimed at Cadia.
"Chaos will win!!!" Abaddon bellowed as the beam ignited, its power at seventy to eighty percent charge—enough to obliterate the planet.
"Their target is Cadia!"
The Chapter Master of the Imperial Fists reacted instantly. His mind raced ten times faster than a mortal's as he gave the order:
"Phalanx! Full power! Block that shot!!!"
The Phalanx's engines flared, shoving the massive fortress into the beam's path. But they were too slow.
When the Planet Killer fired, the blinding lance split space itself. The Phalanx intercepted a third of it, its void shields trembling, but the rest tore past—straight toward Cadia.
Too fast. Too sudden. Even the Eldar ship couldn't react in time.
If it landed, Cadia would be shattered, its people annihilated.
"It's too late," Trazyn muttered.
Then a voice echoed in Godzilla's mind.
[It's your turn.]
Power surged through him. His obsidian hide flared crimson, glowing with molten heat. The air warped, reality twisting around his form.
He no longer looked like a natural beast, but a living apocalypse.
Isis saw, and immediately dropped to one knee, bowing her head. The lizardmen followed, worshiping without hesitation.
Even the daemons froze.
From the mouth of a Tzeentch scribe came the first whisper:
"Godzilla… he means to challenge the Planet Killer?"
