Chapter 106
Abaddon froze when he saw the Eldar Craftworld ship.
He didn't remember there being an Eldar Craftworld anywhere near Cadia!
These ships are massive—each one is practically the size of a continent, not much smaller than the Blackstone Fortress or even the Phalanx. The entire Eldar race might only have a dozen left.
They are the last refuges of the Eldar, and each Craftworld is always escorted by a full fleet.
"Damn it! Why are the Eldar here?!"
For the first time, Abaddon felt a flicker of panic.
One Phalanx was already enough to push the Chaos fleet to its limits. But now an entire Craftworld and its fleet? Against that, he had no chance of splitting his strength.
"Notify Lucius!"
He immediately gave the order.
"Let the sons of Slaanesh deal with those pointy-eared bastards. I don't have the strength to deal with another Eldar fleet!"
Abaddon still had resources left. He could call back the scattered Chaos fleets from nearby systems. That would at least buy time against both the Phalanx and the Eldar Craftworld.
But his thoughts soon turned to Godzilla, and fury twisted his face.
"Godzilla! If it weren't for him, my Blackstone Fortress wouldn't have been paralyzed! That damned beast!"
He almost choked on his own rage. He wanted nothing more than to tear Godzilla apart with his teeth.
Yet even the daemon bound to his sword seemed to shiver at the monster's name.
This daemon was no ordinary one. It was Drach'nyen, the first daemon born from the psychic echo of the first murder in human history. A primordial horror with the power to wound even the Emperor himself. During the War in the Webway, it had pierced the armor of the Golden Throne's master.
But now, even Drach'nyen trembled at the thought of Godzilla.
'Show your power! Kill him!' Abaddon roared in his mind.
If Drach'nyen could answer, it would've cursed him.
Kill Godzilla? Are you insane?
Drach'nyen knew the truth. He had survived since ancient Terra, and he remembered the old whispers of "nature's retribution upon mankind."
He had been born from mankind's first murder. Godzilla was its end.
In other words—Godzilla was his natural predator.
The irony was unbearable.
"Warmaster, Lucius' Slaanesh fleet is arriving."
"Good! Just a little longer—hold on!" Abaddon barked. He only needed time for the Planet Killer to finish recharging. With Lucius and the others, he could still turn this around.
Soon, fleets of Slaanesh, Nurgle, and Tzeentch burst from the warp. Emperor's Children, Death Guard, Thousand Sons—the great Chaos Legions themselves appeared to reinforce Abaddon.
For a while, even the mighty Phalanx was pushed back.
The entire star system filled with ships, countless battleships blotting out the void.
'…Shit, that many?!'
Godzilla blinked at the sight. Even the cruisers alone numbered in the hundreds. His head throbbed just looking at them.
'Even if I smash them one by one, it'll take me a year!'
[Be confident. In a year, you won't even be halfway done.]
Godzilla turned his eyes to the Craftworld ship in the distance. Its turrets alone dwarfed him.
'Wait… this one looks familiar.'
[It's the one you saved before.]
'I knew it!'
Godzilla grinned. He had spared this Craftworld once. It was only fair to get something in return this time.
'I want a girl.'
[Are you insane? What girl?]
'It's all part of the plan!'
Mad as it sounded, Godzilla was serious. If he had saved them once, he deserved some reward.
Isis sensed his thoughts. She didn't doubt him. Instead, she smiled faintly.
"They're here—the pointy-ears."
Her own Eldar were nearly all gone. It was time to replace them. But this time she would not force submission. The Eldar would have to choose to follow Godzilla themselves, or it would be meaningless.
Above, the battle in space raged on. The Blackstone Fortress was crippled, falling back. With warships of that size clashing, Godzilla chose not to intervene. Instead, he shifted the fight back down to Cadia's surface—his home ground.
At the same time, Mechagodzilla descended. The appearance of the two titans caused both Imperial and Chaos forces to halt for a moment.
From across the battlefield, Living Saint Celestine turned her eyes to him after cutting down a daemonic vampire. The Emperor's light blazed from her, dazzling—but even so, she flinched under Godzilla's gaze.
Their eyes met.
'Isn't that the Emperor's saint?'
Celestine felt crushing pressure just from his stare. It was so heavy that even the Emperor on Holy Terra felt the echo through her.
'By the Throne… Diablo Godzilla?'
The Emperor recognized him. Ordinary Godzillas simply regenerated quickly. Diablo Godzilla's regeneration was nearly immortal. Damage that would cripple another would vanish in moments.
Celestine trembled, lowering her head, suppressing the fear.
'Not bad. But the Emperor really is an old pervert.'
Whether the Emperor was or not, Godzilla certainly was.
He scanned the battlefield. Demons scattered before him. Even the fearless berserkers of Khorne retreated at the sight.
"Don't fight Godzilla!"
"Circle around him!"
He stood like a rock against the tide, untouchable.
But one demon still stepped forward.
"Move aside!"
A massive Khorne daemon emerged, towering above his kin. Axe in one hand, whip in the other—his presence was terrifying. Unlike the others, this one had a name.
Ka'Bandha.
Veterans of the tabletop might laugh at hearing it. Curve Loyalty himself.
His most famous deed had been during the Tyranid assault on Baal, when he intervened—oddly—to keep the Blood Angels alive, if only to spite them later.
But no one could deny his strength. He was far stronger than the average Bloodthirster.
"Godzilla! I, Ka'Bandha, Terminator of Angels, challenge you!"
He raised his axe and pointed it at the monster.
Godzilla gave him a long look.
'Wait… isn't this the same Ka'Bandha who got his ass handed to him by the Blood Angels?'
