Chapter 101 - Chapter 101:

Chapter 101

The armies of the Four Chaos Gods were rarely beaten so badly.

Even if this many daemons attacked the Grey Knights, the Chapter would be forced to grit their teeth and pray.

But Godzilla had inflicted staggering losses.

Neither the endless plague-hordes of Nurgle nor the swift, graceful hosts of Slaanesh could withstand Godzilla and his lizardmen.

"The power of my god is beyond your imagination, you wretched spawn of the Warp!"

Isis raised her voice in praise of Godzilla's might.

Godzilla exhaled another searing breath, watching as swathes of the daemon host were torn apart by his radioactive rays, scattered into fragments. Only then did the pressure on him ease slightly.

'Now this… this really feels like Warhammer 40K.'

[Hold yourself steady. Without your strength—and that other Godzilla from the abyss—the Four would have already dragged you into daemonhood.]

All fear comes from insufficient firepower.

Godzilla pressed forward. His presence was so overwhelming that even Greater Daemons drew back from him.

To Godzilla, there was no difference between a Bloodthirster and a lesser daemon. The way he saw it, the difference was just size—like comparing a marble doll to a small figurine.

'Next time, I'll go straight into the Warp to play.'

What terrifies everyone else—the Immaterium itself—only made Godzilla restless. He wanted to charge into it head-on.

[Not yet. First you must deal with the Blackstone Fortress. To give you some perspective, I'll provide a countdown.]

Strange numbers appeared before Godzilla.

What's this supposed to be?

[Planet Killer charging sequence.]

Ah, right… Abaddon's superweapon. But the Despoiler can repair his void shield engines, can't he?

[Not this time.]

"…"

Godzilla fell silent, then resumed his march forward.

'Then there's no time to waste.'

If the Planet Killer fired, Godzilla might survive, but Isis and his lizardmen would be annihilated. The size of the daemon horde here was second only to the Warp Gates around Terra itself—enough to wipe out any army.

Godzilla turned toward the fortress core. He needed Katata, his other priest, to alter the Blackstone Fortress' systems and use it against the Planet Killer.

Eldar technology, corrupted by the Warp, beyond human comprehension?

Godzilla didn't care. Thinking too hard about the Warp only led nowhere.

Katata had just finished her own battle.

Three Warlord-class Titans lay in ruin, their wrecks slumped like mountains across a jungle floor. Mechagodzilla was damaged, but only in mechanical systems—its biological core was intact.

Sensing her master's call, Katata moved.

"My god requires me. Isis, open a new gate to the Webway."

"Almost done," Isis replied, adjusting the Webway's coordinates to connect with Godzilla's current battlefield.

When Mechagodzilla emerged from the portal, the Chaos forces faltered.

"There's another one?!"

Even the Bloodthirster gripping its axe trembled. Its weapon could cleave through anything, even forcefields—but against this machine, its fighting spirit faltered at a glance.

"Go on then. Cut it down!"

"Yes! Strike it down!!"

A winged Khorne daemon roared and dove at Mechagodzilla.

Katata pulled a lever. Mechagodzilla spun and lashed its massive tail, swatting the daemon from the sky and sending it tumbling ten kilometers away.

"…"

The charging Bloodletters froze. Even creatures born only to kill felt their instincts screaming. Seeing another Godzilla-like giant broke them.

They weren't mindless. They knew what "unbeatable" looked like.

One daemon snarled, trying to save face: "We're in the Warp itself! What's there to fear?!"

But the truth was clear—outside the Eye of Terror, their strength waned. Here, three colossal beasts tore across the Blackstone Fortress, and Abaddon's composure finally cracked.

"How are we supposed to fight this?"

Pinned between the Phalanx and Godzilla, the Warmaster felt the weight of the galaxy pressing down on him.

"Warmaster, I have a plan!"

His adjutant stepped forward. This one was no ordinary lackey.

"Speak." Abaddon's glare was venomous.

"Cadia's void shields are down, but the Blackstone array is still functional. Planet Killer needs time to recharge, and both the Phalanx and Godzilla are disrupting us. I recommend we abandon the fortress, turn it into a battering ram against the Phalanx, and then advance on Cadia. That will break the stalemate."

Even Tzeentch seemed pleased with the cunning suggestion.

Abaddon considered it. The fortress itself was expendable. Cadia was not. The world was a tumor choking the throat of the Dark Gods. Until Cadia was destroyed, the Four would never be free of it. Even if thousands of daemons were lost, the destruction of Cadia would be worth the price.

"Do it," Abaddon ordered.

The fortress began to move.

On the other side, fury burned among the sons of Dorn.

"They dare to bring a corrupted fortress against the Phalanx?!"

Imperial Fists in their yellow armor gritted their teeth.

"They dare to mock the Emperor's shield!"

"Chapter Master, give the word! Let us engage them!"

The warriors were eager. To them, nothing was holier than defending the Phalanx.

The Chapter Master himself raised his power hammer and storm shield. His voice was iron:

"Do they think we are weak? We are the Imperial Fists—the wall of Terra, the shield of the Imperium. Let them test our defenses and see how far they get."

The command rang out:

"Bring the Phalanx forward! If they want a collision, we'll show them what happens when heretics strike the Emperor's wall!"

The Fists roared in unison, burning for battle.

Meanwhile, the Cursed Founding Legion remained still, statues with weapons in hand, as if they already knew what would come next.

Before Godzilla reached the fortress core, he noticed the colossal structure shifting.

'Damn it… Abaddon's really going to ram the Phalanx into Cadia.'

[Correct. He plans to crash both together.]

'Hmph. Too bad for him—Blackstone isn't strong enough to bring down the Phalanx.'
