Chapter 11 - Rules & Consequences

A few hours after the race, Cobra Petrol was placed in custody. Kerosene held on to Nobel's arm tightly as reporters and journalists crowded him. He answered their questions calmly before Kubota escorted him back to their pit. "You okay, boss?" Kubota asked after the garage door shut. Nobel nodded slowly, his hands were shaky, but... Nobel looked over Kerosene. The auburn-haired twink hadn't let go of his arm. "I want you and the other Breachers to beef up our security. In fact, hire all of Stingray's firefighters fulltime, full benefits. While I trust myself to be vigilant, wouldn't hurt to have extra security."

Kerosene looked up hearing this to see Nobel smiling weakly down at him. Kerosene sighed a breath of relief as Nobel kissed his forehead. "I made you a promise, my little firework. And I intend to keep it." Nobel's words relaxed Kerosene, at least enough for everyone to take a deep breath. As such, the team loaded up the '69 Daytona Charger onto its trailer, then headed back to Fusion Dynamic. As Kerosene and Nobel rode in Fusion Dynamic's nuclear-modified '86 Cadillac Brougham business-limo, they chatted. "I saw a couple people with you the other day. Who were they?" Asked Nobel, his lightning white eyes looking more exhausted than usual. "Well, the first is the son of the CEO of Solar Brew INC., named is Eos the second. He is twenty-one years old, and his father, Eos the First, is rather successful in the corporate world.

Nobel nodded, then gestured for Kerosene to continue. "The next is the son of the CEO of Allison-International INC., named is Perkin Stuart. He is twenty years old, and his father, Clessie Stuart, has maintained a successful business in an ever-turbulant region." Nobel looked over the two files he'd been handed. He nodded while rubbing the back of his neck, then motioned for Kerosene to continue. "Lastly, is the owner of Transcontiental INC., named Palmer Vanderbuilt. Palmer is twenty-one years old, and has had unmatched run in the railroading industry." Nobel looked over the contents of Vanderbuilt's manila file and nodded. As the '86 Cadillac Brougham rolled into the Fusion Dynamics complex, Nobel and Kerosene went straight into the CEO Office, then instructed Stingray's son, Sawyer, usher in the trio. As they entered, Nobel and Kerosene greeted them, had everyone take a seat, then Nobel addressed them.

"I appreciate your patience, everyone. While I do apologize for keeping you waiting, I did have to settle a corporate dispute. Now, I have looked over your files and the various notes you wanted Kerosene to inform me of, but is there anything you three would like to add?" The three were silent before Eos spoke up. "We do all appreciate your time, and understand that the dispute was a necessary situation to handle. Don't worry, I'm certain our fathers and in the case of Mr. Vanderbuilt, himself, understand the nature of these disputes." Palmer Vanderbuilt nodded before speaking. "Yes, as the CEO of Transcontinental INC., these disputes have been all too common for myself. However, I am certain that the discussions we'll have with the other two CEOs will bear far more fruit for you. That is, if you are ready to depart for Detroit Springs."

Nobel nodded and with that, the trio arose, heading down to main level. There, vehicles picked up everyone, and began the journey to Detroit Springs. However, Nobel and Kerosene were unaware of what the CEOs had planned for their future when all the paperwork settled...
