The sky of Landis that afternoon was copper-colored, swept by thin clouds rolling slowly. In the great hall, a regular meeting between the ministers and the king was being held. Damian sat in the main chair as the new king. His posture was upright while his gaze remained calm during the meeting, even though his shoulders bore the fatigue of hours of debate and reports from his ministers.
"We will end this meeting here."
After summarizing all the reports and offering solutions, Damian finally dismissed the meeting. The ministers rose and saluted him. As usual, the meeting ended well with Damian at their helm.
After being granted permission, the ministers left the room one by one, their footsteps echoing on the floor. Damian chose to leave last. He glanced back at the documents the ministers had brought before handing them over to his royal secretary to sort.
"Place them in my study."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
