"Captain America's final fate? Now that is an interesting question."
Scott Lang wore a visibly intrigued expression. "If you ask me, a man like Cap is definitely getting a perfect ending."
But the moment his eyes swept over the options on the big screen, his smile froze.
Most of them were… awful.
Either dying alone, or getting killed in action.
The only option that looked even remotely happy was clearly impossible—because Peggy Carter was already nearly a hundred years old.
Spending a lifetime together? With that Peggy Carter?
Yeah, no.
She might not even live to see the events of Endgame.
"How are all these options this bad?" Scott muttered.
Thor frowned as well. "This isn't right. Rogers deserves something better than this."
"Let's analyze the question calmly," Steve Rogers said, his expression steady as ever. "Since this is about me, I should be the one to break it down."
Tony Stark made a courteous gesture. "By all means, Captain. Floor's yours."
Peter Parker stayed quiet, eyes shining with excitement. He still hadn't fully grasped what was going on, but watching the adults argue was premium entertainment.
Steve didn't waste words.
"Option A: Living out my natural life, dying alone. Hard to say… but it's possible."
"Option B: Dying during a mission while fighting crime. That's also possible. Every mission carries that risk."
"Option C: Spending a lifetime with Peggy Carter—this one can be ruled out immediately."
"Peggy is nearly a hundred years old. She has her own family. How exactly would I 'spend a lifetime' with her?"
Would that mean staying by her side until she passed away?
That wasn't a lifetime together.
They only spent a few years together at most. The rest of his life would still be spent alone.
That didn't count.
And besides—Peggy was married.
Even if her husband had passed away, it still wouldn't be right.
What would Steve be? A third wheel?
Ridiculous.
This option wasn't just unlikely—it was borderline absurd.
"Hold on."
Tony suddenly interrupted, staring at Option C with narrowed eyes.
"Doesn't this option feel… strange?"
Peter finally jumped in. "Peggy Carter? The agent Captain promised to dance with? Yeah, Mr. Stark—you're right. This makes zero sense!"
"Exactly," Tony said seriously. "It's too obviously wrong. And based on experience, the system never gives us throwaway answers."
Everyone present felt the same unease.
An answer this bad shouldn't exist… unless they were missing something.
"So what are you suggesting?" T'Challa asked.
"We may be misunderstanding the option," Tony said decisively.
"Remember that earlier question—'Who defeated Captain America?'—where Captain America himself was one of the answers? It looked absurd, until we realized we'd missed key context."
"This is the same."
"The question never said which Peggy Carter."
Scott blinked. "If not that Peggy Carter, then who? Another woman with the same name?"
"That's one possibility," Tony replied. "But there are others."
"Another Peggy from a different timeline."
"Or another universe."
"Think bigger."
"We already know time travel exists. We know the multiverse exists. We've even seen a Captain Carter appear."
"So nothing is impossible anymore."
Scott and T'Challa froze.
That angle… genuinely changed everything.
"Time travel?" Peter gasped. "Like Back to the Future? So that movie was real?!"
"No," Tony snapped instantly. "Absolutely not. Kid, save your questions for after the quiz."
Thor slapped Steve's shoulder enthusiastically. "Then perhaps you really will meet another Peggy one day!"
"It's plausible," T'Challa agreed. "Interpreting it this way makes Option C far more reasonable."
"But we still can't confirm that," Steve said calmly.
"Correct," Tony replied. "That's why we analyze probabilities. Captain—please continue."
Steve nodded.
"If it's another Peggy, I can't confirm or deny it. So Option C stays undecided."
"Option D: Losing my purpose and freezing myself again."
He shook his head firmly. "That's not who I am."
After reviewing all four choices, only D could be confidently eliminated.
The others remained uncertain.
And that alone spoke volumes.
"This is Captain America," Scott muttered. "Total emotional damage, but zero certainty."
Tony continued.
"This question takes place after Endgame. Thanos is dead."
"But for Steve Rogers, what changes?"
"Nothing."
"Crime doesn't disappear just because one tyrant dies."
"There will always be another Thanos."
"And there will always be a Captain America."
"So I believe Steve keeps fighting."
"Which means Option C becomes less likely."
The group nodded in agreement.
That left A and B.
Thor scratched his chin. "Steve—do you see yourself getting married someday?"
Steve paused… then shook his head.
"I don't know the future. But right now? I'm not ready for a relationship."
"My idea of home… was left seventy years ago."
No one argued.
They all understood.
"Then the answer is A," Scott concluded. "A lifetime of solitude."
Steve's strength made dying in battle unlikely.
But choosing to walk alone?
That sounded exactly like him.
The final answer was decided.
A – Living out his life, alone.
