Sasame arrived at the Hokage's office and, after confirming no outsiders were present, pushed the door open and entered.
"Big sis, I missed you so much."
In a flash, he darted behind her, wrapping his arms around her and burying his face in her golden hair, taking in her scent.
She smelled nice.
Like shampoo.
"We just saw each other this morning."
Tsunade paused what she was doing and shot him a sidelong glance. "What's there to miss?"
"I miss you every second we're apart."
Sasame chuckled and circled around to her front, squeezing himself into the Hokage's plush chair alongside her.
"Focus on business first."
Tsunade caught his wandering hands and shoved a document into them.
On the cover were four bold characters: Uzumaki Naruto.
Feeling the warmth of her body against his, Sasame flipped open the file.
The first section detailed Naruto's parents—Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Kushina.
He froze for a moment, already guessing what Tsunade intended to do.
The second section covered Naruto's own life, from birth to the present.
But there wasn't much to it—just two pages.
Finally, the last part listed Minato and Kushina's inheritance.
Especially the former—as Hokage, he had completed countless missions, amassing considerable wealth.
In the original story, it had clearly been managed by Konoha on Naruto's behalf.
"Big sis, you want to reveal Naruto's identity as the Fourth's son?" Sasame set the documents down and asked.
He didn't mention the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki part—that was still too dangerous.
Naruto wasn't strong enough yet.
But simply revealing him as Minato and Kushina's son would be enough to change his circumstances drastically.
"You always understand me best."
Tsunade reached out and pinched his cheek. "What do you think?"
Earlier, when Koharu Utatane and Homura Mitokado were present, she had brought this up—only to be met with fierce opposition.
Even Hiruzen Sarutobi had disagreed.
In their eyes, it was far too conspicuous.
When Tsunade countered by asking why they had spread the "demon fox" rumors in the first place, they had shifted the blame to Danzō Shimura.
Now, with only Sasame left, there was no resistance.
She couldn't help but feel that reestablishing the Konoha Military Police Force had been a masterstroke—without it, she wouldn't have been able to topple those three old relics.
"Of course I support you, big sis!"
Sasame didn't hesitate. "Konoha has wronged Naruto."
"Mhm."
Tsunade pushed the documents back into his hands. "I'll leave this matter to you."
Sasame blinked in surprise.
He immediately understood her intention.
It was well-known that Minato had become Hokage largely thanks to Kushina.
In other words, forming a good relationship with the Nine-Tails Jinchūriki would bring him closer to the Hokage's seat.
Tsunade was paving the way for him.
Danzō Shimura would be furious.
Why hadn't he ever had a Hokage like this?
"Alright."
Sasame nodded without refusing.
Becoming Hokage would earn him some Fate Points too.
If he became the Sixth Hokage, Kakashi Hatake likely wouldn't take the position as he had in the original story.
"Go on."
Tsunade leaned down and kissed his forehead.
But before she could pull away, Sasame swiftly captured her lips.
"So sweet."
He licked his lips with a satisfied grin—before Tsunade kicked him out of the room.
"Sasame-sama, are you okay?"
Ino Yamanaka hurried over to help him up.
"I'm fine, just tripped."
Sasame released her arm. "Are you heading home?"
"No, I'm going back to the Academy."
Ino explained, "I asked Iruka-sensei for a week off last time, and it's up today, so I need to request another leave."
"Oh, wait for me. We'll go together."
Sasame turned and entered the Hokage's secretary's office.
Ino stood frozen for a moment, not quite processing what had just happened.
When she finally snapped out of it, she clenched her fists, her face breaking into an excited grin.
Ino's victory!
Hmph, Sakura, you've already lost!
Though the two of them were no longer competing over Sasuke, they had found a new rivalry to uphold their friendship.
Namely—who would win over their crush first?
"Hiashi-san, could you spread this announcement throughout the village?"
Sasame naturally wouldn't handle this tedious task himself.
"Of course."
Hizashi Hyūga agreed before even reading it.
Not out of blind trust in Sasame, but because, as the Hokage's secretary, this was his job.
Only after opening it did his expression shift in surprise.
He had always known Naruto's true identity—he just hadn't expected Tsunade to make it public.
Compared to Hiruzen, this new Hokage clearly had far more courage.
For a moment, countless thoughts raced through his mind.
If the Hokage intervened in the Hyūga branch family's affairs… would it work?
"Sorry for the wait."
Sasame didn't linger with Hizashi. After delegating the task, he quickly returned to the girl waiting outside.
"Not at all."
Ino shook her head, falling into step beside him.
But as they walked, she kept sneaking glances at him.
So handsome it's criminal.
"Is something wrong?"
Sasame noticed her gaze and asked.
"N-no!"
Ino's face flushed red, and she quickly averted her eyes.
"Has Sasuke been discharged?"
Sasame changed the subject.
After being knocked out by Itachi, Sasuke had been taken to Konoha's hospital.
"Sakura said he's already home."
Ino clenched her fists indignantly. "How awful! Who would do such a thing?!"
"You care a lot about Sasuke, huh?"
Sasame remarked casually.
"No!"
Ino hurriedly corrected herself. "I'm just concerned as a classmate! It's not like I like him or anything!"
The moment the words left her mouth, she realized her mistake.
I want to flee Konoha right now.
Her blush spread all the way to her ears.
"I-I didn't mean anything by that," she stammered.
"Mean what?"
Sasame feigned ignorance.
"..."
Ino wanted to die. How did this happen?!
"We're here."
Sasame decided to stop teasing her. "I'm going to find Naruto. What about you?"
"I'm going to request leave!"
Ino took two steps forward, then sped up, clearly eager to escape.
Sasame watched her go before turning toward Class 3-A.
After a short wait, school let out.
Naruto suddenly snapped out of his daze.
These days, he only did two things in class: slack off.
The Academy teachers couldn't compare to Minato and Kushina.
Rather than listening to lectures, he preferred training in the seal space.
"Sasame-nii!"
Naruto immediately spotted the familiar figure at the door and rushed over.
"Let's talk somewhere else."
Noticing the strange looks from others, Sasame led him to the training grounds.
"This is… a bankbook?"
Naruto took the small booklet and flipped it open, eyes widening. "S-so many zeros!"
He had never seen so much money in his life.
"It's what your parents left you."
Sasame patted his shoulder. "Take good care of it. Don't let some shady sage swindle you out of it."
He was referring to Jiraiya.
In the original story, Naruto had been quite frugal—until all his savings were blown by Jiraiya on his "research trips."
But now, with Kushina around, there was no way she'd let Naruto learn from him.
No sane woman would trust a lecherous old man like that.
"Mom and Dad?"
Naruto hadn't expected this to come from Minato and Kushina.
But since they were right there in the seal space, verifying the truth was easy.
"I don't remember how many missions I did," Minato scratched his head. "But I guess it makes sense."
Kushina, however, reacted differently. She clenched her fists, furious. "That third Hokage! He stole our inheritance?!"
Hearing this, Naruto's expression darkened.
He had genuinely believed Hiruzen was a good person—only to realize he was a wolf in sheep's clothing.
No matter how optimistic he was, with his parents' influence and all this evidence, his opinion of the old man had hit rock bottom.
"There's one more thing."
Sasame looked at him. "Starting today, you're no longer the 'demon fox'—you're the Fourth Hokage's son."
Naruto's head snapped up in shock.
From Kushina and Minato, he already knew what being a Jinchūriki meant—so he understood the implications of this announcement.
Instantly, his respect for Tsunade—whom he barely knew—soared.
This was what a real Hokage should be like.
She was now his role model.
"Tsunade-sama is truly amazing!"
Kushina grinned in satisfaction.
Though she and Tsunade had always been close, she was deeply moved by this gesture.
Especially compared to Hiruzen's actions, the difference was night and day.
Minato also smiled.
If he had entrusted Naruto to Tsunade instead of Hiruzen after the Nine-Tails' attack, perhaps none of this would have happened.
Konoha wouldn't be in this state.
But at least it wasn't too late.
The next day.
News of Naruto's true identity spread throughout Konoha.
Villagers and shinobi who had once ostracized or hurt him were struggling to accept it.
People find it hard to admit their mistakes.
Some apologized when they saw Naruto again.
But most chose the ostrich approach—avoiding him entirely.
[Due to your actions, Uzumaki Naruto's fate has changed. You have earned 49 Fate Points.]
This was Sasame's greatest gain.
With this money, Naruto could live much better.
And as the protagonist, he had contributed a generous amount of Fate Points.
Sarutobi Clan Compound.
Hiruzen Sarutobi was fishing.
"Old man, you're pretty relaxed."
Asuma Sarutobi plopped down beside him.
"Just taking a page from Suna's two advisors."
Hiruzen tapped his pipe. "What brings you here?"
Suna's two elders, Chiyo and Ebizō, had willingly given up power and retired.
Unlike Konoha's elders, who clung to authority despite their age.
"Lady Tsunade has revealed Naruto as the Fourth's son."
Asuma stared at the pond. "She's starting to remind me of you in your prime."
"Tsunade has changed quite a bit since becoming Hokage."
Hiruzen instinctively felt something was off, but he could no longer intervene. In the end, he simply said, "She's doing well."
September.
The temperature in the Land of Fire had dropped.
But in the Land of Waves, summer's heat lingered.
Sasame sat in the Akatsuki meeting room, waiting for Shisui Uchiha and Izumi Uchiha.
"Make sure to clean thoroughly."
Mikoto Uchiha knelt on the floor, head bowed as she scrubbed.
When Sasame spoke, she didn't respond—too focused on her task.
Before long, Shisui entered.
He didn't notice Mikoto under the table.
Normally, he would have.
But Sasame had spent a few Fate Points to conceal her presence temporarily.
She didn't know that.
The moment Shisui arrived, her entire body trembled—even her teeth chattered.
Sasame stretched, feeling refreshed. "Shisui, where's Izumi?"
"She's training by the coast, so she'll be late."
Shisui sat across from him.
"So diligent."
Sasame sighed.
Ever since the Uchiha massacre, Izumi had done nothing but train—eating and sleeping only when necessary.
Her dedication was terrifying.
But lately, Mikoto wasn't far behind.
Her intensity made it hard to believe she had once been a dignified matriarch.
As if this frenzy could bury her shame.
A knock sounded.
Izumi stepped inside and bowed. "Sorry I'm late."
"No problem."
Sasame exhaled. "Shisui, brief us."
"We've located the man posing as a doctor—Shinnō."
Shisui reported. "As you instructed, we staged an assassination attempt, leaving deliberate clues. He's already returned to the ruins of the Sky Village."
"Good."
Sasame had gone to such lengths to confirm whether the flying fortress was complete—and how powerful it was.
Since this was years ahead of the original timeline, he needed to be sure.
After all, who wouldn't want a flying fortress?
"Prepare to depart tomorrow."
Sasame waved them off.
The meeting ended.
Though the two had just arrived only to leave again, they had no complaints.
Strength commanded respect.
Besides, Sasame had saved their lives.
Loyalty was only natural.
After they left, Mikoto stood and wiped her damp hands.
Sasame glanced at the floor—spotless.
"Good job."
"Thank you."
Mikoto swallowed nervously. "I'll work even harder."
Sasame patted her head. "Go wash up."
Once she left, he returned to Konoha.
The next day.
Sasame arrived back in the Land of Waves.
Shisui had already gathered their team—aside from him and Izumi, there were nine shinobi.
Their skills were average—two jonin and seven chunin.
But it was enough.
Sasame didn't need them to fight—just to operate the flying fortress.
Notably, one of the jonin was Mikoto.
She had volunteered, wanting combat experience.
Otherwise, even with the Mangekyō, she'd be no match for Itachi.
Sasame didn't use the Flying Thunder God—the journey wasn't far, just half a day.
He took the chance to enjoy the scenery.
Along the way, he witnessed Izumi's relentless training once more.
I wonder when she'll awaken her Mangekyō.
Talent-wise, she far surpassed Mikoto.
She didn't need his guidance.
She'd awaken it when the time was right.
All she needed was the right trigger.
"Sasame, it's here."
Shisui stopped. "Deep in this rainforest, there's a small village. Shinnō usually stays there."
Sasame recalled the plot.
This was the source of the Zero-Tails' power—the so-called "dark chakra."
Energy born from the darkness in people's hearts.
Essentially, a form of Yin Release.
"Let's go."
Sasame formed hand seals, summoning several giant trees.
Shisui unsheathed his sword and carved them into boats.
The group boarded and ventured deeper into the rainforest.
Izumi stood at the bow.
Dangerous beasts lurked in the jungle—all dealt with by her.
Suddenly, she looked up. "There's someone in the sky."
Sasame had already sensed it.
A Sky shinobi.
Gliding on a device resembling a hang glider, patrolling from above.
At this height, few attacks could reach them.
Flight was nearly nonexistent in the shinobi world.
But that didn't make the Sky ninja invincible.
Otherwise, their village wouldn't have fallen.
"I'll handle it."
Shisui unsealed a scroll, launching several giant Fūma shuriken.
In an instant, he flashed upward, stepping on them to ascend.
The Sky ninja barely registered the shuriken before meeting crimson eyes—and then, nothing.
Shisui landed back on the boat, dropping the unconscious shinobi.
"Where is Shinnō?"
The youth, now under the Mangekyō's control, answered immediately. "At Amaru's house."
"Have him lead the way."
Sasame raised an eyebrow.
Amaru was Shinnō's disciple—the female lead of this movie.
A girl with red hair and reddish skin.
The Naruto movies each had a heroine.
The most famous was probably Princess Fuun (from Snow Princess).
Probably because she was beautiful.
Amaru wasn't as notable.
But as a named side character, she could still contribute Fate Points.
Interestingly, Naruto was quite the ladies' man in the movies—
Constantly getting confessed to and kissed.
Amaru was one of them.
With their guide's help, Sasame's group reached the village deep in the rainforest.
"Shinnō-sama."
The young man knocked. "I've brought guests."
"What—?"
Shinnō opened the door, his gaze sharpening as he sensed trouble.
Sasame's group hadn't bothered hiding their identities—clearly, they were shinobi.
He stared at the youth in confusion. What kind of guests did you bring?!
No—wait.
This was genjutsu.
Shinnō maintained his composure. "What brings you here?"
"To collect a debt."
Sasame said casually. "Three days ago, you injured one of my men. Time to pay up."
Shinnō's face darkened.
The assassination attempt three days ago had alerted him—someone was after the Zero-Tails.
He had rushed back immediately.
But he hadn't expected them to follow so soon.
