The Uchiha clan's compound, once bustling with activity, was now eerily quiet.

Under the dim twilight, only a single light remained lit.

"Sasuke, you're still too young. Don't rush things."

Kakashi Hatake sighed, trying to reason with him. "The Chidori is too advanced for you right now."

"I want to defeat Naruto."

Sasuke Uchiha's voice was cold, his expression unreadable.

Kakashi could only shake his head in resignation.

Honestly, he hadn't expected Naruto Uzumaki to be this much of a prodigy.

For Sasuke—even with his two-tomoe Sharingan—to lose against him was nothing short of unbelievable.

A two-tomoe Sharingan alone should have put Sasuke on par with a chūnin.

Add in Kakashi's personal training, and yet still losing to Naruto?

It defied all logic.

As the two spoke, Sasame, perched atop a nearby telephone pole, made an unexpected discovery.

He spotted Itachi Uchiha and Kisame Hoshigaki.

He had seen Itachi before, but Kisame was new—though his shark-like features made him unmistakable.

Sasame couldn't help but wonder:

Did one of Kisame's parents have shark blood? Or was he just… not human?

After all, in the shinobi world, biological compatibility seemed… flexible.

Cough.

Shaking off the absurd thought, Sasame focused on their presence in Konoha.

Were they here to capture the Nine-Tails?

That seemed too early.

In the original timeline, that wouldn't happen for years.

Then… is it because of Sasuke?

Sasame's interference had prevented Itachi from meeting his brother during the Uchiha massacre—meaning Sasuke had never been subjected to Tsukuyomi.

So… is this a "gift" visit?

His lips curled slightly as another idea struck him.

Mikoto Uchiha.

This was too good to pass up.

With a flicker, Sasame disappeared—reappearing in the Daimyō's palace in the Land of Waves.

He approached Mikoto's room but didn't enter directly. Instead, he peered through the window.

Inside, Mikoto was deep in training—practicing water-style jutsu.

Her face was flushed, sweat glistening as she panted heavily, her hands rapidly forming seals.

Moments later, her efforts bore fruit—a successful water release.

Sasame materialized before her in an instant.

Mikoto startled like a frightened bird, scrambling to cover herself with a nearby sheet.

"It's just me."

Sasame reached out, brushing his fingers along her heated cheek. "No need to be shy."

"I—I—"

Mikoto's face burned with humiliation, but she dared not pull away.

"You've been very obedient. I'm pleased."

Sasame smiled. "Today, I'll take you to see your sons."

"Sons?!"

Mikoto's expression twisted in shock. "What do you mean?!"

"Exactly what you think." Sasame confirmed her fears. "The brothers are about to reunite."

Mikoto shot to her feet, hastily throwing on a robe—too frantic to care about modesty.

Sasame took his time appreciating the view.

"Take me there! Now!"

She grabbed his arm, desperation lacing her voice.

"Is that how you ask for a favor?"

Sasame sighed, feigning disappointment. "Aunt Mikoto, that won't do."

"You—!"

Mikoto gritted her teeth. "What do you want?!"

Her tone was firmer than usual—a rare display of defiance.

"It's not about what I want."

Sasame tilted his head. "It's about what you should do."

He wanted to see how this gentle, kind-hearted woman would react under pressure.

The answer came swiftly.

Mikoto pressed her lips to his in a fleeting kiss—but as she tried to retreat, Sasame caught her, deepening the contact.

She struggled weakly, tears welling in her eyes, but ultimately surrendered.

"Hold on tight, Aunt Mikoto."

Three minutes later, Sasame pulled back—then activated the Flying Thunder God Technique.

They reappeared in the Uchiha compound.

Sasame formed hand signs, entering Sage Mode before casting a concealment barrier.

"Itachi!"

Sasuke, having just bid Kakashi farewell, spotted his brother—the man who haunted his dreams.

Without hesitation, he activated his two-tomoe Sharingan and charged.

"Foolish little brother."

Itachi's eyes swirled into the Mangekyō pattern as he effortlessly caught Sasuke by the throat. "You still don't understand the gap between us."

"Sasuke!"

Mikoto screamed—but the barrier muffled her voice.

Sasame gripped her chin, forcing her to watch. "Interfere, and you'll die too."

As Mikoto thrashed, Sasuke struggled in Itachi's grip, his face turning red.

"Why?!"

"To measure my capacity."

Itachi's voice was ice. "To see how far I can go."

"That's bullshit!"

Tears streamed down Sasuke's face. "My brother would never kill Father! Never slaughter our clan for something so stupid!"

"Naive."

Itachi's eyes pulsed. "See for yourself."

Tsukuyomi.

Sasuke's world twisted—plunging him back into the massacre.

He watched, helpless, as Itachi slaughtered their family again and again.

"NO!"

Sasuke's agonized scream tore through the night.

Itachi showed no mercy, only repeating the nightmare.

"Please! Save him!"

Mikoto sobbed, her own tears falling freely.

Though she didn't understand the genjutsu, she could see Sasuke's torment.

Sasame shook his head.

This was how the Sharingan evolved.

Sasuke's ocular power was surging—fueled by his hatred for Itachi and his bond with Naruto.

Itachi's appearance, cruel as it was, was helping him grow.

"I'll do anything!"

Mikoto's voice cracked. "Just help him! I'll obey you forever!"

Fear had shattered her reason—but for Sasame, it was a perfect deal.

"Stay here. Leave the barrier, and you'll regret it."

Mikoto nodded frantically.

She wouldn't dare risk her son's life.

"Since when do missing-nin stroll through Konoha so brazenly?"

Sasame stepped from the shadows, smirking. "Long time no see, Itachi."

"Sasame."

Itachi's expression didn't flicker. "Congratulations on becoming Hokage Advisor."

"Nothing worth celebrating."

Sasame gestured to Sasuke. "Put him down. He's a Konoha shinobi—you're not."

A flicker of pain crossed Itachi's face.

The barb struck deep.

"Wait, Kisame."

Itachi shook his head. "Don't engage."

"Why?"

Kisame bared his shark-like teeth, hefting Samehada.

"Killing him invites trouble."

Itachi dropped the unconscious Sasuke. "We're leaving."

He paid Sasame no further mind—to him, the boy was no threat.

And Sasame didn't pursue.

Securing Mikoto's loyalty so easily was victory enough.

Part of him did want to reveal the truth to Itachi—just to see his reaction.

Mikoto rushed to Sasuke's side, cradling him.

"He's fine."

Sasame shrugged.

Only he knew the truth—Itachi would never truly harm Sasuke.

Unless, of course, Sasuke betrayed Konoha and went on a killing spree.

Without Kotoamatsukami, Itachi might actually finish him.

"Sasuke…"

Mikoto exhaled in relief but refused to let go.

"He'll wake soon."

Sasame glanced at the boy. "If you care about him, leave now. He can't see you."

Mikoto's face twisted with conflict—but she finally released Sasuke.

"Let's go."

Another flash—and they were back in the Land of Waves.

Seeing Mikoto's tear-streaked face, Sasame softened.

He wiped her cheeks gently. "Don't blame yourself. Rest."

But Mikoto didn't pull away.

Instead, she clung to him—as if a dam had burst.

Years of suppressed grief, rage, and longing erupted at once.

The gentle woman was gone—replaced by something raw, desperate.

After seeing Sasuke, she'd made her choice.

Power.

She would do anything to gain the strength to defeat Itachi.

Sasame found himself on the receiving end of an… enthusiastic massage.

Her technique was clumsy, but the enthusiasm made up for it.

Yet despite her efforts, her Sharingan hadn't evolved.

Hmm.

Sasame pondered. The solution?

Yang Release.

With his Sage Body, he could infuse her with life energy—slowly enhancing her physique.

Only someone with Uzumaki or Senju lineage could pull this off.

Like Karin in the original timeline.

Sasame extended his arm. "Bite me."

Mikoto, lost in her frenzy, didn't hesitate.

Her sharp teeth pierced his skin—blood welling up.

Her tongue darted out, lapping it up hungrily.

The night stretched on.

By the time Sasame finally slept, Mikoto had long since collapsed beside him.

Morning.

Sasame awoke to find Mikoto still unconscious, her face peaceful.

After last night's… exertion, waking up early was impossible.

He rubbed his chin, pondering:

Had she awakened her Sharingan?

Not a third eye—just the standard two.

Dressing quietly, he waited.

It wasn't until afternoon that Mikoto stirred.

Her eyes fluttered open—then widened as memories flooded back.

Shame. Guilt.

And beneath it all—fulfillment.

But one question burned in her mind:

Why hadn't her eyes evolved?

What more did she have to do?

Slumping against the wall, Mikoto Uchiha stared blankly ahead—utterly lost.
