Shisui's first-stage skeletal form lacked weapons but boasted formidable defense. Against most attacks, it was impenetrable.
But Orochimaru's Eight Branches Technique had eight independent heads. Controlling even one would require Kotoamatsukami—and Shisui's eyes couldn't sustain eight consecutive casts without permanent blindness.
As the serpent's tails coiled around Susanoo, Shisui gritted his teeth. A green chakra blade materialized in its grip—

Meanwhile - Danzo vs. Itachi
The ROOT leader had expected an easy capture. Instead, he faced a precocious nightmare.
(No spare Sharingan to waste on a child, Danzo relied on Wood Release—until eight ROOT operatives finished sealing the battlefield.)
Jiraiya's Intervention
Perched atop a distant tree, the toad sage gaped.
Mangekyō. Wood Style. Eight Branches. Today's revelations could topple Konoha's power balance.
Summoning Fukasaku and Shima, he entered Sage Mode—
"CEASE THIS MADNESS!"
His bellow froze Danzo and Itachi mid-clash. Orochimaru ignored him.
(Shisui, however, hesitated. Jiraiya's reputation as Hiruzen's heir made him the least untrustworthy option.)
Enter: The Masked Man
A figure materialized behind Shisui—tiger-striped mask gleaming—and drove a kunai into his skull.
THUD.
The Uchiha prodigy collapsed, Susanoo dissipating.
(Sasame had weighed identities—mystery leader? Obito impersonator? The latter offered chaotic dividends:)
Frame Obito, sowing future discord.
Alter Itachi's allegiance (no more clan massacre collusion).
Derail Orochimaru's Akatsuki recruitment.
"Release Shisui!" Itachi's scream was raw.
Danzo moved—Wind-Enhanced Kunai plunging into the mask-man's back—
—only for the body to sprout wooden tendrils, ensnaring him.
"Wood Style?!"
Danzo's shock turned to agony as his grafted arm—studded with stolen Sharingan—flew free, scooped up by the attacker.
(Two Izanagi charges—gone.)
"OROCHIMARU!" Danzo howled, whirling—
—but the Sannin had vanished.
Sasame's Counterattack
[Temporary Sage Body - Active]
A single hand-seal triggered Mokuton: Jukai Kōtan (Wood Style: Birth of Dense Woodland).
The earth ruptured. Ancient trees speared through the battlefield, immobilizing:
Orochimaru's eight-headed form.
All eight ROOT operatives.
Danzo.
Itachi.
Only Jiraiya escaped—just in time to see Hiruzen's reinforcements arrive.
(Including a very pale Tsunade.)
"Mokuton...?" The Sandaime's voice cracked. "First Hokage-sama...?"
Short-Term Forest - Hidden Clearing
Sasame dumped Shisui's unconscious form.
(*Plan: Have Kabuto extract the Mangekyō, then implant suspected Kagami Uchiha's 3-tomoe eyes.*)
(Ninja eye-swaps were laughably simple—but safeguards were necessary. Kabuto would modify Shisui's loyalty.)
[Fate Changes Detected!]
Shisui Uchiha: +99 FP
Danzo: +99 FP
Hiruzen: +28 FP
Orochimaru: +37 FP
Obito Uchiha: +27 FP
Itachi Uchiha: +16 FP
(Net gain: 276 FP after deducting the 30 FP Sage Body cost.)
But Sasame wouldn't keep the eyes.
(Normal bodies couldn't handle Mangekyō—see: Kakashi's chakra drain.)
Instead, the Fate Ring would transfer Kotoamatsukami directly to his own eyes—no rejection, no downtime.
