Synopsis:

The patrol group returned to camp just before dawn, the shaken knights carried or supported by their comrades. Division 7 and 10 formed a protective perimeter, tense and silent.


Around a fire, Captain Elara, Captain Alistair, Ursa, Jack, Synoh, Lux, Dred, and others gathered to hear the testimony.


The knight who had screamed earlier now sat wrapped in a thick blanket, hands still trembling. Meth brought him water, and Aloy stood guard beside him.


Captain Elara: "Speak. Tell us everything you saw."


> "We followed the path… toward the cave near the mountain's edge. Fog surrounded us. We didn't see it coming. Then—"


"A shape. Tall… too tall to be human. Pale… thin like smoke but with glowing red eyes."


"It raised its hand—no weapon—and the wind exploded, throwing us back."


> "And then… it spoke. A voice… echoed in our heads:


'Leave. Do not return. Or pay the price.'"


Some knights shivered. Others looked skeptical—but none laughed.


Dred (gritting his teeth): "So it wasn't a ghost… just a monster, right?"


> "No. I could see through it. It wasn't physical… it was something else. Something old."


As the group slowly dispersed to rest or prepare, Synoh stood quietly at the edge of the camp.


> Fel: "So it speaks… That's no monster."


"I've felt that presence before. It's a ghost, Synoh. A powerful one."


> Synoh: "…So we're really dealing with a ghost."


> Fel: "Or worse. If it's a wraith… or a soul of a fallen warrior… we may need more than just magic."


Inside the command tent, Captain Elara and Captain Alistair reviewed reports and the map of the mountain region.


Captain Alistair (arms crossed): "If we let fear stop us, we'll lose more people. But sending everyone is too dangerous."


Captain Elara (calm but firm): "Then we go small. Precise. I'll lead a scouting unit myself."


> "This thing wants us afraid. I want to look it in the eye."


Captain Alistair will stay behind in the village with Lux, Jack, Dred, and the rest of the members.


Before they left, Lux pulled Synoh aside.


Lux: "If something happens… don't be a hero."


Synoh smirked. "Don't worry. I plan to come back… with answers."


As dawn lit the sky, the scouting team stood at the mountain path's edge, the cave entrance barely visible through the thick mist.


> "Eyes sharp. Weapons ready. We face the unknown."
