Chapter 86 - CHAPTER EIGHTY-FIVE

Thalia was shocked when Chesca abruptly rose from the bed and began to walk; they realized she was still asleep.

That's why they quickly got up to follow where it was going. They followed it into the dense forest; it was just standing there as if watching the darkness.

"When did Chesca start sleepwalking?" Ericka whispered to her.

"That's the third time she's done that." Thalia just shook her head then, carefully observing it.

When it regained consciousness, it was shown in her face; she was surprised, standing there confused but searching for something. Chesca was about to dig with her hands when they heard a rustling sound coming from Chesca's direction.

They were in a distant part observing Chesca; if the two of them moved carelessly, they might endanger her. Fortunately, it hid behind a wide tree that Chesca could reach if necessary.

They almost saw it, Isabel and the others, when they noticed it quietly moving in their direction, gauging the movement of its muscles, until it hid again. But she knew Isabel would follow it, because as a woman, her senses were strong, especially her instinct.

At the movement of Chesca, she was already panicking, so before she could be illuminated and caught, she immediately pulled her, and they went to their spot.

They didn't make any noise.

"Let's go, Tricia." Isabel's companion said, "Come on."

Again, before leaving, she looked back in their direction. Darkness had engulfed the entire forest, leaving them with nothing but a deep sigh.

"Sorry," Chesca apologized to them.

She just shook her head.

"Mommy hid a piece of evidence here." Chesca admitted it to them.

Her ears perked up, so she turned to the woman in front of her.

"W --- What proof?" she asked.

"Is this coming from the police, Chesca?" Ericka asked back then.

She nodded at them.

"Come on, it's dangerous if we discuss it here." Thalia immediately urged, "If we stay here any longer, they will find us."

"Thalia, where are we going?" Chesca asked her.

"Just come on, we're safe here."

Her companion exchanged glances with her but just followed her anyway. They arrived at a large space, deserted but with a hut there.

"Thalia, whose hut is this?" Chesca asked her.

"To my brother," she whispered in reply.

"Isn't it too dangerous here? Maybe the enemy already knows every hut that is here." Chesca said.

"No." Thalia answered. Before the paths of the three of them crossed, she had already prepared for the possible twists and turns, thanks to the map given by her cousin back then, as well as William.

They proceeded to the hut. Like the others, it has an underground basement. They reminisce about their time spent in hiding alongside Jasmin.

Thalia looked at the time. She will gauge that Isabel and the others haven't returned yet, and she knows a route that is also close to the hut where the five of them are staying.

They proceeded to the underground.

"My older brother doesn't always use this, and besides, this isn't even his real basement, nor Charles's." She said this while turning on the lights.

"How did you know these things, Thalia?" Ericka asked her in surprise.

She was still holding the map her cousin had given her; she showed it to her companions.

"Don't tell me Vince gave that to you?" Chesca asked, surprised.

She wouldn't be surprised if Chesca knew about this given her current behavior.

"Yes, she gave it to me."

"Let me see it," Ericka said to her.

The surroundings grew gloomy, and the past engulfed them. She turned around when she saw Ericka and Chesca.

"Where are we?" Chesca asked in confusion.

"Don't worry, it's my fault; whenever I touch something, I travel, and you all got involved." Ericka said.

She quietly observed her surroundings, her attention caught by the man sitting down. This is her older brother.

"Is that map done?" was all they heard.

"Good, you're here now, Thalia; sometimes, when I'm the only one traveling, I can't hear and see the past." Ericka said to her.

"Don't rush me, Fernan." Complaint of her brother back then.

That means, before Fernan died, they made that map. Thalia thought to herself.

"The Fuego's property is vast; if we rush the tracing of where we will build our huts, it will surely be pointless. Give me another week to see the warehouse again so I can assess what we can do." That's all they heard.

"You know that the heinous murder of his two children is going to happen, right? I see that this is about to happen. The abduction of the four siblings occurred on a rainy day. If we estimate the time of the abduction, it might have occurred around two weeks apart." Fernan spoke, to which the three listened intently.

Felix stepped outside, sighed, and turned to see his cousin, who was deep in thought.

"That's why you should give me a week, and besides, it would be better if you just helped me, Fernan and Vince." He sighed.

"They created this map based on their premonition of what would happen to you, Chesca. Does that mean, because of this map, you and Mikaela managed to escape?" she asked back then.

Chesca nodded. "He gave us Mikaela's map back then because they knew they couldn't save Ellese and Felisa." She said sadly.

They were sitting together at that time.

"Does this mean that we can use that map when we get into trouble?" Ericka asked, deep in thought.

"Yes, we can use this, because actually," she pointed at each mark of an X and a check to her companions.

"I am aware that there are organizations closely monitoring this area, so we will avoid all those crosses," she said. "We will count the huts marked by that check based on the secret organization formed against the Fuego" Thalia said to her companions.

"But my brother didn't include his hut, nor Fernan's, and other huts that we could go to in case of an emergency."

"Does that mean..." She met Ericka's gaze.

"That map might be fake, right?" she asked.

She nodded in agreement.

"My brother wants our enemies to see this map in my hand." She could only shake her head.

"It is a trap that could either succeed or result in their deaths." Chesca said.

"Where is the original map?" Ericka asked her.

"It's with my sibling." Thalia answered Ericka's question.

Ericka just shook her head.

"Does that imply Mikaela also received it?" Chesca asked her.

"I don't know, but my sister, Jenny, has the real map."

"I can't keep up with your brother's way of thinking, Thalia." Ericka could only shake her head at her.

"You probably think like him; I know you and Isabel are just having fun right now."

"I'm not playing." Thalia even said. "But I also don't want you to get hurt." She said to them.

"We're going back," Thalia said as she prepared to leave.

"When are we going back to that place, Thalia?" Chesca asked her.

"Don't worry, we will go back to that place." She promised Chesca.
