Sometimes, nearly ten thousand soldiers are stationed in the city for defense, only to sleep through the night without firing a shot. At dawn, the officer orders them to open the gates to welcome friendly forces, only for the soldiers to realize that the troops entering the city are the enemy. Their officer had surrendered last week, and they unwittingly switched allegiances as well.
Even more absurd, some get lost in the mountains and are mistaken for enemies by friendly forces, beaten up, or even accidentally collide with their own general's units during a retreat.
