Chapter 31 - Chapter 31: Letter/Tablet

Gazing into the eyes of the three.

Kana sat back in his seat.

Looking at the three before him.

Words that are too extraordinary might become unbelievable instead.

"Can something of that scale really destroy the world?" Alyris was somewhat doubtful.

If something of that scale could destroy the world, then can I destroy the world too? That would make me pretty powerful. Alyris couldn't help but think.

Blake didn't speak, still influenced by the Void in his mind.

Bobo looked completely unconvinced, regarding Kana like a cult fanatic.

Having traveled extensively, she had seen many such cult fanatics.

She just hadn't expected that a prince of a kingdom would believe such things.

"How could you possibly know such important information?"

It wasn't surprising Bobo didn't believe, even though Kana was a prince, his kingdom was too small.

Moreover, it was exceptionally barren, completely out of touch with most countries.

This kingdom could truly be described as a backwater, detached from the world.

Only remote villages or small towns typically were like this, not a kingdom.

Kana didn't expect them to believe right away.

Though there were signs now, they were sparse and weak, and only very few people had any understanding of the Void.

Without surprises, he believed that he was probably the one who understood the Void the most now.

Through this period, he no longer held any false hopes.

Indeed, he had come to this world, replacing the former Kana and becoming a member of it.

Certain matters now had to be addressed.

For instance, the invasion of the Void.

If unresolved, the entire world would perish, including himself, which was surely unacceptable.

Fortunately, at least in the original game's storyline, this issue was eventually resolved through the efforts of countless individuals.

And if he were to do something in the future, he would need to establish some interesting character settings for himself.

Such as being able to foresee omens of the future, being able to see warnings of danger from the future.

This ability wasn't absurd, considering even the most unbelievable Stone of Creation was true.

Being able to see glimpses of the future, what's so incredible about that?

"I can see omens of the future."

"?"

No sooner had he spoken than Bobo and even Alyris couldn't help but come over and touch Kana's forehead.

"Do you need a rest? Maybe you're too tired today, Your Highness." Alyris looked a bit worried.

Kana smiled helplessly: "I know you don't believe, so I didn't intend to make you believe.

You just need to be aware of this matter, and eventually, you'll believe my words."

Kana didn't expect them to believe what he said right away, mainly just patching things up for himself.

When he later knows things he shouldn't know, they would automatically fill in the gaps.

Thus, he wouldn't need to explain much.

"The influence of the Void on the soul is fatal, especially for souls that haven't mastered special powers." Kana shifted the topic, continuing.

After saying this, Kana pointed at Alyris and Bobo.

Looking at Blake, he explained: "Alyris has the power to control blood, what I call Blood Magic.

Bobo is a scholar and a caster, she also has the power to manipulate magic."

Then he pointed at himself: "Though I can't control these powers yet, I know clearly that I too have Blood Magic within me.

Just like the Count, we are both royal members."

"So essentially, our souls can control special powers, these special powers provide some sort of protection for the soul.

Thus, the weak flashes from the Abyss can't affect us, just like hiding under a tree, the sunlight can't touch us."

He then pointed at Blake: "But you're different, you haven't mastered these powers.

You're standing naked under the sunlight, without anything to block the Abyss's flashes, naturally, you're influenced to some extent."

But given your long-term knight training, you have already honed your willpower, so you can break free of the influence with your willpower."

However, remnants of the influence still adhere to the surface of your soul, fortunately, it's just a weak flash from the Abyss and not very impactful, it will naturally dissipate after some time."

Kana's words relieved Blake, at least this issue could recover, just given some time.

At some point, Blake had started to believe Kana's words without doubt.

Especially in areas he didn't understand, Blake was more inclined to trust Kana's knowledge.

Honest truth, though unwilling to admit, a part of him believes Kana's talk of the apocalypse.

Because he had personally experienced the Void's influence, albeit the most ordinary influence.

Bobo listened nearby, unlike Blake and Alyris, she was quite knowledgeable, having traveled many places.

She didn't understand or even know about the Void.

But she was essentially a caster, albeit not a renowned one.

She had also witnessed the Void Flash at the time.

Without the flow of Magic Power, given her understanding of magic, even the simplest trick was unworkable in such an environment.

However, her Spirit strength remained, and she felt the impact of the flash very deeply.

So during Kana's explanations about the Void Flash, she had to admit he was likely correct. At least in her experience, Kana's words were certainly correct.

She couldn't help but wonder if Kana's previous statements were true.

Originally implausible words now had a hint of credibility.

"Alright, that's enough explaining, I need to write a letter to the Count."

With that, Kana rose and returned to his room, taking out pen and paper to write to his uncle.

Leaving the others to digest what he just said, they needed some time.

Inside the room, Kana wrote in the letter:

"Dear Uncle, I wonder how the frontline situation is currently...

I believe you are aware that our resistance against the Blood Race troops is limited. Once they regain control of those cities and regroup their forces, failure is inevitable.

You're surely aware of the Blood Race's transformation of the city's residents.

Before this happens, I think you should have an escape plan. From my surveys these few days, we might be able to escape using water routes.

We just need to build some ships, even rafts. I hope you will approve, and I will organize people from Riverbend Town to build some river vessels, so that we can…"

After sealing the letter and handing it to the soldier outside.

Alyris was guarding in the yard.

Blake had left, and Bobo returned to her room.

He was back in the room.

His mind repeatedly recalled the Ratman influenced by the Abyss.

"Unexpectedly, at this stage, they already have the Void reconnaissance teams?"

In the game's plot, versions have a buildup.

The 4.0 Abyss invasion apocalypse, had early foreshadowing.

Players who dug deep found the earliest hints in version 2.0.

Kana hadn't expected to discover it right in the early stages of version 1.0, even facing it directly.

In retrospect, a reasonable explanation can be made. Like version 1.0, where players mainly operated around the surrounding newbie village, half of Cohen Kingdom and the mountain-bordering half of Safro Kingdom.

One was wilderness scarcely developed, the other a country controlled by the Blood Race, leaving only enemies.

1.0 primarily dealt with problems caused by the blood incident from Safro Kingdom.

Version 2.0 expanded the map to this continent.

Now that traces of Abyss influence are evident on this continent, other continents surely had traces early on too.

Despite being able to prepare early, thinking about these issues now seemed a bit distant.

The main focus now was the small Stone of Creation, and the relic it resided in.

He took out the main loot from this operation—another half of the Relic Disc.

And then the other half obtained from the Merfolk, made them together.

It could be seen that this stone slab was exceptionally solid, the two pieces fit perfectly.

The combined pattern was a strangely shaped tree, growing like a triangle.

The once Ancient Alchemy Empire—Betville.

A nation now ruined, leaving only relics.

Outside, it was already near dusk.

Tomorrow, the two stone slabs could be used to explore the relic.

Thinking of this, Kana unexpectedly felt some excitement.

Simply started training in the yard, his growth in power couldn't stop.
