# Chapter 84: Magikarp Kid, I See You Have a Connection With Me
"Young man, what's your name?"
Mr. Bryan was a very kind old man. He had a gentle smile on his face as he asked Bai Feng for his name.
"My name is Bai Feng, Mr. Bryan."
Mr. Bryan nodded and said, "Hmm~ a good name."
At this moment, Grandpa Fu said, "Alright, do you really want us to stand at the door and talk?"
Mr. Bryan glared at Grandpa Fu, then while fully opening the door, he smiled at Bai Feng and said, "Come in quickly, come in."
Just like that, Bai Feng and Grandpa Fu were led into the Home by Mr. Bryan.
The furnishings in Mr. Bryan's Residence were very simple. Aside from some necessary items, there were almost no special decorations, except for the large and small photos hanging on the wall.
All the photos were of Mr. Bryan and various Water-type Pokémon. It was clear that he really liked Water-type Pokémon.
Suddenly, Bai Feng saw another person in some of the photos, a young boy about the same age as him...
Just then, Grandpa Fu, who had already sat down on the sofa in a relaxed manner, asked, "Where's Siebold? Not Home?"
Mr. Bryan replied, "He went out Fishing. He should be back soon."
Grandpa Fu nodded, then looked at Bai Feng and said, "Siebold is this guy's Grandchild. He's about the same age as you. You two should get along well."
Siebold... this name...
Before Bai Feng could think further, he heard Mr. Bryan say, "Siebold should be back later. I'll introduce him to you."
Bai Feng nodded, just about to speak, when he suddenly heard the sound of the door opening behind him. He couldn't help but turn around to look.
A string of wind chimes hung in front of Mr. Bryan's Home, making a crisp tinkling sound when the door opened. As the chimes rang, a slender young man walked through the door.
The young man was about the same height as Bai Feng, with short, light blond hair. He looked very similar to Mr. Bryan and was the same young man Bai Feng had just seen in the photos.
Needless to say, he should be Mr. Bryan's Grandchild, Siebold.
However, Siebold... this name... it seemed to be the name of one of the Kalos Region's future Elite Four. Bai Feng couldn't tell if they were the same person based on appearance, because this Siebold was still just a young boy at the moment.
But the characteristics matched: his Grandfather was a Water-type Pokémon Trainer, and he had blond hair.
"Grandfather, I'm back!"
The young man said as soon as he entered the door. He then saw Bai Feng standing in the Living Room and paused, stopping. Realizing there were Guests, he politely said to Bai Feng, "Hello."
"Hello," Bai Feng replied.
"Siebold, you're back!" Grandpa Fu said happily.
"Grandpa Fu, you're here!"
It was then that Siebold saw Grandpa Fu sitting on the sofa. His tone was familiar, clearly indicating he was well-acquainted with Grandpa Fu.
Following behind Siebold was a Wartortle. It was carrying a Bucket and followed Siebold very obediently, looking at Bai Feng curiously.
Mr. Bryan looked at the empty Bucket in the Wartortle's hand and asked, "Still no Catch?"
Siebold nodded and said, "No."
Mr. Bryan turned to Bai Feng and explained, "Siebold wants to Catch a Clauncher, but he's been to the Seaside several times in a row and hasn't had any luck catching one."
Bai Feng nodded, then heard Mr. Bryan introduce him to Siebold, saying, "This is Bai Feng. He's Grandpa Fu's junior. Get along well."
Siebold nodded, smiled slightly at Bai Feng, then looked at Grandpa Fu and said, "Since Grandpa Fu is here, why don't you stay for lunch? I'll go prepare it now."
Grandpa Fu clapped his hands and said, "Great, I was just waiting for you to say that."
Mr. Bryan glared at him angrily and said, "Did you deliberately choose this time to come?"
Bai Feng found this strange and didn't quite understand what Mr. Bryan meant, but he completely understood during lunch.
Siebold was about to go into the Kitchen after tidying up. Seeing this, Bai Feng said, "I'll go help too!"
Mr. Bryan quickly waved his hand and said, "I'll go. There's no reason to let Guests help."
Grandpa Fu quickly stopped him and said, "Alright, let Bai Feng go. You come over and chat with me. I have something to tell you."
Hearing this, Mr. Bryan had no choice but to stop preventing it and found an Apron for Bai Feng. Judging by the size, it should have been Siebold's.
The Apron was sky blue, with small white Flowers printed on it. It was quite... cute...
When Bai Feng entered the Kitchen, Siebold was already busy. His movements were skilled and efficient, showing that he often worked in the Kitchen.
What a good kid! Bai Feng exclaimed.
Siebold was also wearing an Apron, seemingly the same style as Bai Feng's, even the small white Flowers printed on it were identical, but his Apron was gray.
"Thank you for your help," Siebold said to Bai Feng.
The two had just met and neither was particularly good at socializing, so it was inevitably a bit awkward interacting. They didn't know what to talk about and just focused on working, barely speaking the entire time.
Bai Feng's cooking skills were average, so he could only assist Siebold, doing things like washing vegetables and getting items.
As time passed, a richer and richer Aroma wafted from the Kitchen. Only then did Bai Feng realize how amazing Siebold's cooking was!
At the same time, he became more certain that this was likely one of the future Elite Four of the Kalos Region.
Because besides being one of the Elite Four, that Siebold was also a very famous chef!
Soon, dish after dish, full of color, Aroma, and flavor, were brought to the table by Siebold and Bai Feng. Seeing this, Grandpa Fu immediately sat down at the table impatiently and started eating, completely not acting like a Guest.
"Siebold's cooking is the best!" Grandpa Fu said with a satisfied look.
Mr. Bryan glared at Grandpa Fu as usual, then greeted Bai Feng, "Sit down, everyone sit down and eat."
Bai Feng nodded obediently and sat down next to Grandpa Fu.
All the dishes on the table were very tempting. For a moment, Bai Feng didn't know where to begin.
Seeing that Bai Feng wasn't moving, Grandpa Fu pushed a plate of Slowpoke Tail Sashimi towards him and said, "Try this. This is Siebold's specialty dish!"
Bai Feng knew that Slowpoke Tails could be eaten. The Slowpoke Tails sold in the Market were specifically raised in a Breeding farm, but he had never eaten them before.
Because there are almost no nerves in a Slowpoke's Tail, they don't feel pain even if it breaks, similar to how Humans feel when getting a haircut. Also, because they are particularly delicious, there are specialized Breeding farms that raise Slowpoke and sell their Tails as ingredients.
However, the qualifications for operating such Breeding farms that raise Pokémon for ingredients are very strictly reviewed. The Pokémon League even has strict regulations on the frequency of cutting Slowpoke Tails, the Slowpoke's living environment, the Slowpoke's psychological state, and so on. It's not something you can do however you want.
Therefore, the number of such Breeding farms is very small, which also leads to the price of Slowpoke Tails being prohibitive.
Not just Slowpoke Tails, but also Petilil's Root stems, Tropius's Bananas, Gloom's Saliva, Bounsweet's Fruit Pulp, and so on. If you want to carry out large-scale Breeding of these Pokémon ingredients, you must undergo strict control by the Pokémon League.
The Slowpoke Tail in front of Bai Feng had been cut into slices of uniform thickness. The meat was transparent and shiny, and looked very delicious.
He gently picked up a piece with a fork and put it in his mouth. An unprecedented burst of freshness exploded in Bai Feng's mouth. It was fragrant, tender, soft, and smooth, without the slightest fishy smell. After swallowing, there was even a special, plant-like Aroma lingering in his mouth.
For a moment, Bai Feng couldn't find the words to praise such delicious food.
At this point, he finally understood why Grandpa Fu had specifically waited until noon to come over. This meal was worth the wait!
Siebold was only this young, yet his cooking skills were already masterful, simply astonishing.
Both Grandpa Fu and Bai Feng ate with exceptional satisfaction.
After finishing lunch, Bai Feng finally remembered the purpose of his visit today, so he quickly looked at Grandpa Fu.
Grandpa Fu was chatting with Mr. Bryan. Noticing Bai Feng's gaze, he simply used his eyes to signal him to be patient.
Seeing this, Bai Feng had no choice but to follow Grandpa Fu's arrangement.
Grandpa Fu looked at Siebold and asked, "Siebold, are you going to try and Catch Clauncher this afternoon?"
Siebold replied, "That's the plan."
Hearing this, Grandpa Fu suggested, "How about Bai Feng goes with you? I need to talk to your Grandfather about something. With the two of you together, maybe you'll have better luck Catching a Clauncher."
Siebold looked at Bai Feng upon hearing this. Seeing Bai Feng nod in agreement, he said, "Okay, then we'll go together."
So Bai Feng and Siebold rested at Home for a while, then each carried a Fishing rod and set off. Since Siebold and his Grandfather often went Fishing at the Seaside, they had many spare Fishing rods at Home.
Siebold was very familiar with the area and quickly led Bai Feng to a suitable spot for Fishing.
The Seaside here was covered in large rocks. According to Siebold, this kind of environment made it easier for Clauncher to hide.
Before casting the Bait, Siebold released Wartortle again.
"When we hook a Pokémon, we can have our Pokémon defeat it, and then Catch it," Siebold explained.
Then he seemed to think of something and said to Bai Feng again, "Are you a Pokémon Trainer? If not, I can lend you one."
Bai Feng waved his hand and said, "No need, I have one." After saying that, he released Brionne.
"Seelai!!!"
Brionne was very happy to see the sea and immediately cried out towards it.
Seeing this, Bai Feng instructed it, "We're going to be Fishing later, so be quiet. Otherwise, you'll scare away the Pokémon in the water, and we won't Catch anything."
Hearing this, Brionne quickly covered its mouth, indicating it would remain quiet.
Seeing Bai Feng's Brionne, Siebold said with a little surprise, "You have a Water-type Pokémon too!"
"Yes, this is Brionne."
Bai Feng nodded in reply, then introduced Siebold and Wartortle to Brionne. The two Water-type Pokémon even waved at each other.
After everything was ready, the two began Fishing.
Time passed minute by minute. Soon, there was a tug on Siebold's hook. Siebold wasn't in a hurry to reel it in, but waited for the Pokémon underwater to struggle for a while before pulling it up.
Soon, the Pokémon underwater revealed itself. It was just an ordinary Remoraid.
Siebold was a little disappointed and didn't even continue his actions, finally letting the Remoraid struggle back into the sea.
Siebold's Fishing technique was impressive. After letting the Remoraid go, he soon hooked various other Pokémon one after another, such as Magikarp, Goldeen, Qwilfish, and Corsola.
In contrast, Bai Feng didn't Catch anything.
It was utterly miserable.
However, all the Pokémon Siebold caught were released. His goal was Clauncher; Catching other Pokémon was useless.
Bai Feng didn't actually want to Catch any Pokémon either. He mainly wanted to help Siebold Catch a Clauncher.
Time passed. Siebold still had catches from time to time. Although they were all released in the end, it could be considered quite fruitful.
Bai Feng, however, only caught some dead branches and rotten leaves, which made him feel a bit awkward.
Siebold had clearly given him Fishing tips, but why weren't any Pokémon biting? "Am I really this bad?" Bai Feng couldn't help but think.
Suddenly, he had an idea.
Bai Feng took out his Space Backpack, then took out some Berries. He then used a Small Knife to chop the Berries into small pieces, throwing the finely chopped Fruit Pulp near his Bait.
Siebold looked at Bai Feng in surprise but didn't say much. He sometimes used this method too, though he used specially prepared Pokémon food that Water-type Pokémon liked, not Berries.
"Do Berries really work?" Siebold was skeptical.
Facts proved that Berries were indeed useful—or more accurately, the Berries Bai Feng brought were useful.
After only a short while, there was a tug on his hook.
Bai Feng was just a Fishing novice. He quickly imitated Siebold's previous actions and soon pulled a Pokémon out of the water.
He saw that the Pokémon was entirely red, with a pair of golden fins and large, round eyes. It was the most common Pokémon in the sea—a Magikarp!
"Goo goo goo~"
Hanging from the other end of the Fishing rod, the Magikarp twisted its body non-stop in the air, leaving Bai Feng stunned.
Flinging the Magikarp back into the sea, Bai Feng continued Fishing. Since the first Pokémon had bitten, there would definitely be a second, a third, and so on, Bai Feng thought to himself.
Indeed, a second Pokémon quickly took the Bait. Bai Feng was very happy, but when he pulled it out of the water, he was dumbfounded.
It was still a Magikarp...
Then the third, fourth, and fifth—all Magikarp.
Bai Feng wondered if the combination of Fruit Pulp he'd randomly thrown in was very popular with Magikarp.
So he switched to a few other Berries, chopped them up again, and threw them into the water.
Facts proved that it wasn't because of the Berries, because after a while, the one that took the Bait again was still a Magikarp!
