Chapter 58: A Busy Morning
Since Brionne and the other two had received Rejuvenation, Bai Feng took the opportunity to call in the rest of the Pokémon as well, giving each of them a session.
This time, he again utilized Bai Ye's power, allowing him to perform Rejuvenation on eight Pokémon simultaneously. Everyone quickly felt refreshed.
Purrloin and the three Ghost-type Pokémon were receiving Rejuvenation for the first time. At first, they were completely confused, not understanding why Bai Feng had called them in. But after truly experiencing it, they instantly felt their souls ascend to heaven.
The increase in work efficiency allowed Bai Feng to finish all the work in no time. Bai Ye was the last one, as it had been delayed assisting Bai Feng, so Bai Feng let it enjoy the session a bit longer.
When Purrloin and the three Ghost-type Pokémon left the Room, they were all dizzy. It was their first time receiving Rejuvenation, and the feeling of comfort was so intense that they were still immersed in it, unable to snap out of it.
Purrloin, in particular, was staggering as it walked out, almost bumping into the doorframe.
Before they left, Bai Feng said to them, "As long as you behave well from now on, Rejuvenation will always be available."
Undeniably, this promise gave the four Pokémon a hint of expectation for their future life on Fangxing Mountain. The allure of Rejuvenation was simply too strong. Purrloin even began to suspect if Bai Feng had used some kind of addictive illegal drug on it.
It had stayed with a Drug Trafficking Organization before, so it knew exactly how one reacted after taking illegal drugs.
After everyone left, Bai Feng also walked out of the Room. Just then, Caicaizi came over and told him that Classmate Shen Mu had arrived.
During the days Bai Feng was away, Shenmu would occasionally come over to visit, and would stay for the entire day.
While on vacation at Home, the time he spent with his father increased, and correspondingly, conflicts also grew. So whenever he felt stifled, he would come to Fangcun Mountain to see Machamp, Vaporeon, and the others.
Whenever he saw them working and playing carefree on Fangcun Mountain, Classmate Shen Mu would think of his deceased Grandfather and feel a sense of peace.
Seeing Bai Feng walk out of the house, Classmate Shen Mu said in surprise, "Classmate Bai Feng, you're back!"
Bai Feng hadn't told anyone else about his return except for everyone at the Orphanage, which was why Classmate Shen Mu was so surprised at this moment.
"Yeah, I just got back yesterday." Bai Feng smiled and nodded at him, then invited him into the house.
Classmate Shen Mu had come with his school bag. After chatting with Bai Feng for a while, he simply stayed in the house to read and study.
Bai Feng didn't disturb him. Instead, he went with Bai Ye to Fangcun Mountain to check on the growth of the grafted fruit trees.
The fruit trees were growing very well. Bai Feng tidied up their arbor diagram, then returned to Fangxing Mountain and began contacting the friends he had met at the Berry Exhibition Tournament one by one to discuss matters related to shipping the fruit trees.
Meanwhile, after the Pokémon finished their Rejuvenation sessions, they each returned to their work posts.
The Talonflames went on patrol as usual.
Brionne followed Vaporeon to water the fruit trees. The Diggersby family, along with Machamp, Nidoking, and Nidoqueen, went to the Warehouse down the mountain, waiting for people from Wanhe Breeding House to transport the Berries stored inside.
As for Purrloin, Gastly, Misdreavus, and Litwick, they were taken by Leavanny to tour the Orchard and learn about their future work.
It was currently July, the season when Sitrus Berries ripen. Looking at the trees full of fruit, Purrloin twitched its nose, and a rich fruity aroma instantly wafted over. Its mouth was practically watering.
"So much fruit, how long will it take to eat it all!" Purrloin said with a look of delight.
As a poor little thing that often went without meals before, Purrloin's biggest concern was the issue of food and shelter.
It had heard before that Bai Feng planted many Berries, and Bai Feng himself had told it that it wouldn't have to worry about making a living in the future. However, Purrloin, who never easily trusted others, didn't truly take Bai Feng's words to heart.
"If you want me to believe you, then prove it to me!"
After truly seeing such a large Orchard full of fruit today, Purrloin finally confirmed that it would never have to go hungry again!
Seeing Purrloin's greedy look, Leavanny said with a smile, "These fruits aren't all for eating, you know. Most of them will be sold for money. But you don't have to worry about food. As long as you behave well, the Boss will definitely make sure you're full."
Seeing that Purrloin didn't seem very convinced, Leavanny told it and the three Ghost-type Pokémon about its past with Machamp and the others.
Purrloin and the three Ghost-type Pokémon were very surprised after listening. They had originally thought Leavanny and the others had been with Bai Feng from the start, but they didn't expect that Leavanny and the others were also taken in by Bai Feng.
Leavanny also told Purrloin and the others about the benefits of working here: not only were food and lodging provided, but there was also pocket money, and occasionally a Rejuvenation session. Life was simply like paradise!
Listening to Leavanny recount their wonderful life on Fangxing Mountain bit by bit, Purrloin finally began to slowly let down its guard, and the three Ghost-type Pokémon also finally stopped feeling restless.
Since so many Pokémon could live well here, there was no reason they couldn't.
While everyone else was busy, Helioptile, who had nothing to do, secretly snuck down the mountain with a few Berries.
Bai Feng was busy for most of the day. He finally agreed on the shipping time for the fruit trees with his friends. He also had a video call with the Boss of Changqing Tree Breeding House, discussing future partnership matters in detail.
After finishing all this, it was already noon. Bai Feng kept Classmate Shen Mu at Home for lunch.
However, during lunch, he noticed Helioptile wasn't there, so he asked Brionne in confusion, "Why hasn't Helioptile come back for lunch?"
Brionne replied while stuffing Pokéblocks into its mouth, "How would I know? It's probably not hungry. It'll come back on its own when it gets hungry."
Bai Feng then looked at Bai Ye and Larvitar. Both Pokémon shook their heads simultaneously, indicating they didn't know.
Could it have gone to see its wild Pokémon friend again?
Bai Feng thought about it but didn't dwell on it. It wasn't the first time anyway, and Helioptile would come back on its own when the time came.
Bai Feng knew a little about Helioptile making a wild Pokémon friend down the mountain. He also knew that Helioptile would occasionally take a few fruits or unripe fruits cut from the trees to help out that friend, but he hadn't paid much attention to it.
The afternoon was the time Bai Feng had arranged with Yingzhou and the others to invite them to visit the Orchard. So, he said goodbye to Shenmu and planned to go out to pick them up.
Upon learning that Bai Feng was having friends over, Shenmu immediately wanted to say goodbye and leave, but Bai Feng stopped him.
Bai Feng knew his situation and that he didn't want to stay at his own Home, so he told him to feel free to read and study here. Shenmu thought about it and decided to take his Pokémon to the mountain for special training instead.
Bai Feng himself rode Talonflame Captain to the Pokémon Center in the West District.
