Chapter 111 - Chapter 112 – The False Final Chapter

Can the White Snake Sage defeat the Sage of Six Paths?

No, she can't.

But she doesn't need to defeat him—just hold him off for a little while.

The Sage of Six Paths was still going on, trying to talk her into switching sides. He promised that the Snake would have a place in the future of the ninja world.

But the White Snake Sage didn't buy any of it.

It wasn't that she didn't believe his promise—it was that everything she said earlier, about "saving the snakes of Ryūchi" and all that? All of it was a lie.

Even if every last snake in Ryūchi died, she wouldn't so much as blink.

She just needed an excuse to take the moral high ground.

The real reason she chose the demon's side was simple: he showed her a chance to evolve.

The place may be called Ryūchi—"Dragon Ground Cave"—but it's really just a snake's den. Even so, the name reflected a sliver of her own hope: to transcend her current lifeform and become a true dragon.

(T/N: Ryūchidō, literally meaning: Dragon Ground Cave)

That was her pursuit.

There was a concept of "dragons" in the shinobi world. When Might Guy opened the Eighth Gate to unleash his ultimate move, Night Guy, the red steam took the shape of a dragon. No one knows how or why, but that alone proves the ninja world doesn't see snakes as dragons.

Maybe back in the ancient times—before Princess Kaguya ever arrived—true dragons actually did exist.

The demon didn't really understand the snake clan's obsession with becoming dragons, but he had no problem exploiting it to keep the White Snake Sage in his pocket.

Whether it was draconian lizards or snake-shaped dragons, the demon had all kinds of related artifacts in his collection. He once ran into another snake who was crazed about turning into a dragon. The demon had tricked that snake into handing over its precious "dragon" horn.

Now, the red jewel once embedded in the White Snake Sage's head had been replaced. In its place was a blue, teardrop-shaped crystal, clear as glass, with two golden horns jutting out of it.

The White Snake Sage managed to stall the Sage of Six Paths just long enough—for the ninja world to be completely destroyed.

What followed was the Sage of Six Paths chasing her down in fury.

According to their plan, the demon was supposed to come pick her up right about now.

But there was no sign of him.

She'd been ghosted.

Still, the White Snake Sage wasn't angry. She was a seasoned schemer—she had seen this coming. She'd already gotten her hands on the dragon horn. Even if she didn't get the dragon's scales, blood, or bones, it had been worth it.

She summoned the Three Snake Princesses of Ryūchi to serve as cannon fodder, covering her escape.

But she miscalculated a few things.

The Three Snake Princesses weren't all that loyal. When they saw their opponent was the Sage of Six Paths, they bailed on the spot. The Sage himself held a deep-seated grudge far stronger than she expected—he refused to let her go.

And then...

"Boom!"

The dragon horn exploded.

"AAAHHH!!" the White Snake Sage howled, writhing on the ground in pain.

"You dare set me up?! I'll remember this!!"

The Sage of Six Paths showed no sympathy. If anything, he looked downright satisfied.

Serves you right.

Even though most of humanity in the ninja world had been wiped out, the Sage still held onto hope. Back when he fought against his own mother, many had perished too. But humans were like weeds—so long as a single seed remained, they would grow again. A few decades, a few centuries, and they'd thrive once more.

To the Sage of Six Paths, time meant nothing. He could wait. He could rebuild the ninja world from scratch.

But before that, he had to finish off the White Snake Sage.

She was too dangerous. For the sake of humanity's future, she had to be eliminated.

The Sage fully embraced the age-old principle: kick them while they're down. With his Truth-Seeking Spear in hand, he charged in to strike the White Snake Sage.

Her brain was still ringing from the explosion of the horn. Something in those fragments was stoking her rage, pushing it to its limit.

Rage could fuel strength, but it could also burn away reason. With the Sage closing in, the White Snake Sage snapped and decided to take him down with her.

Mutual destruction wasn't realistic—not for beings like them. They probably had a dozen backup resurrection plans between them.

Unfortunately...

The demon stepped in to finish them both off.

"Oh, how delightful it is to break a promise~"

Like cutting down children with a single swing, the demon effortlessly dispatched both the wounded Sage of Six Paths and the White Snake Sage.

Nagato was dead too.

With his last breath, he used chakra sensing to return—carrying the corpses of Yahiko and Konan—back to the dilapidated house where the original "Frog Squad" once lived under Jiraiya-sensei's care.

It was like time itself had reversed.

The three of them sat together around the table, hand in hand, rotting into ash—facing eternity together...

The ninja world was completely finished.

The entire realm was shattered, on the verge of becoming a lifeless wasteland.

Some of the Sage's ideals were absolutely correct—humans were like weeds. As long as they weren't all wiped out at once, and had enough time to grow, they would flourish again.

So the demon left behind one final contingency:

Ōnoki.

The Land of Earth's core region had been reshaped into a perfect environment for human habitation. There, humans would once again reproduce and thrive—only to be harvested by the demon in batches, sacrificed to the demonic version of the Box of Ultimate Bliss.

Like cutting grass... a slow, steady source of power.

...

Moon.

Uchiha Shiran passed through the teleportation channel from the ninja world and arrived at the massive artificial satellite.

After dealing with both Ōtsutsuki Toneri and the soul of Ōtsutsuki Hamura, Uchiha Shiran's body began to crumble and disintegrate into dust.

From the remains emerged the soul of the demon—Sargatanas.

However, the form he took now wasn't that of his original demonic self, but rather... Ōtsutsuki Isshiki?

Even though he had already claimed victory, Sargatanas still cloaked himself in a disguise. That's how cautious he was.

He closed his eyes.

A strange surge of demonic energy welled up from an unknown place. It slithered and squirmed around him like deep-sea creatures, surrounding his body. At that moment, he stepped out of the physical universe—before him floated a lone oil lamp.

He took the Rinnegan, the Nine Tailed Beasts, the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path, and the massive Tenseigan—all of them—and offered them as sacrifices to ignite the divine lamp.

From the spout of the oil lamp, the Lamp God emerged and asked him what his wish was.

Sargatanas paused, hesitating for a moment.

Something felt off.

When he had first arrived in this world, he'd planned to take out Uzumaki Naruto. In that instant, he had sensed the "gaze" of the Sage of Six Paths—a powerful force indeed.

But afterward, whether it was confronting the Sage again, scheming to kill him, or defeating the soul of Ōtsutsuki Hamura on the moon—the entire process had gone almost too smoothly.

As if fate itself had chosen him.

A faint, inexplicable sense of danger began to surface—so subtle, it was almost nothing. But Sargatanas had learned to never ignore his instincts.

With the ninja world destroyed, there was no way to investigate it anymore.

So, for once, he decided to call in some backup—his external aid: the Wishing Lamp.

The lamp's wick blazed with dazzling light—clearly, this offering had been more than enough. But due to the lamp's notoriously tricky nature, Sargatanas rarely made direct wishes for results. He preferred to ask questions, to seek out the underlying truths.

And what the Lamp God told him next…

Left him utterly speechless.
