As danger crept closer from behind, the trio ahead continued their journey, more relaxed than they should have been.
"Should we stop for breakfast?" Selene asked, glancing at Alex.
Alex considered it for a moment and then nodded. "Let's do a quick one, then we'll move."
They soon found a cluster of smooth stones protruding from the icy ground near a tree, like frozen stools. Brushing the snow off, they sat down.Alex pulled out two carefully wrapped steaks from his spatial ring, handing one to Selene and keeping one for himself.
Just then, Hati padded over, tongue lolling out, eyes wide with hope."Woof," he barked, staring straight at Alex.
Alex raised an eyebrow mid-chew. "Didn't you just eat an entire monster by yourself?"
Hati responded with a toothy grin and another bark.
Alex blinked. "You're still hungry?"
Hati nodded eagerly, his tail wagging like a drumbeat.
With a sigh, Alex pulled out another wrapped steak and tossed it to him. "You're such a glutton."
