Chapter 225 - He finally left
After leaving a threatening sentence, Kuraudo shot a deep look at the two Student Council members who had spoiled his fun and then hurried out of the restaurant with his gang.
Seeing the Sword Eater leave, Utakata Misogi was visibly relieved.
"He finally left."
Even the Student Council Vice President was somewhat wary of Kuraudo. After all, he was a Top 8 finalist in the previous Seven Star Sword Art Festival. In a sense, he was among the top eight student knights in all of Japan.
With that kind of strength, if they had really fought, the two Council members might have been able to suppress him, but it would have caused significant collateral damage.
Kuraudo's wise retreat minimized the impact, which was the outcome Utakata had hoped for.
"You two should be students of Hagun Academy too, right? I'm the Student Council Vice President, Utakata Misogi, and this is the Student Council Accountant, Kanata Toutokubara."
With a gentle smile, the boy introduced himself and the veiled girl beside him.
Because Ayase was wearing the Hagun Academy uniform, Utakata naturally assumed that the boy sitting with her was also a student.
"Hello, I'm Ayase Ayatsuji, a second-year student." Ayase quickly bowed. "Thank you both for just now."
"That's our job," Utakata said with a faint smile. "But you two were really impulsive to start such a commotion in public."
"At least you remained rational in the end and didn't summon your Device," Utakata said, looking pointedly at Roy. "Otherwise, I would have had to arrest you according to school regulations."
"I'm not from your Hagun Academy," Roy said quietly.
The gentle smile on Utakata's face froze. He hadn't expected the stranger to be an outsider.
"It's like this," Ayase hurriedly explained. "Those people were harassing me, and he stepped in to help. That's why he was attacked by Kuraudo."
"What a misunderstanding," Kanata laughed lightly. Her parasol tilted slightly.
"Sorry, I was a little presumptuous just now," Utakata quickly recovered, apologizing to Roy. "Thank you for helping our student."
"In that situation, anyone with the ability would have helped," Roy smiled.
"Not everyone is willing to help others," Utakata countered. "You have to be careful. That guy has his eyes on you now."
Utakata explained gently, "Kuraudo Kurashiki is a battle maniac. He often invades other schools for unsanctioned duels or destroys martial arts dojos around the city. He is a completely immoral and quite cruel man. Besides, as far as I know, once you are targeted by him, he will never give up."
"He will use underhanded means to force you to fight him. Until you agree, he won't stop."
Hearing this, a shadow fell over Ayase's face.
It was clear she was recalling bad memories, likely the cruel history she shared with Kuraudo.
"That kind of guy is not my opponent. If you hadn't appeared, he would be lying on the floor by now," Roy said, shaking his head slightly.
"Aren't you confident?" Kanata fixed her gaze on Roy, her tone mixing interest with dissatisfaction. After all, she and Utakata had stepped in to stop a riot, only to be dismissed as interfering.
"It's not confidence, it's just a fact," Roy said with a smile.
"Heh." Kanata sneered.
Kuraudo was a Top 8 finalist. In terms of strength, he was on her level. Even she dared not say with certainty that she could defeat him easily.
A battle with the Sword Eater would be a bitter, evenly matched struggle. Yet, in Roy's eyes, Kuraudo was merely weak prey.
Did that imply that she and Utakata were nothing special as well?
Utakata laughed dryly. "In short, be careful. Kuraudo is a difficult character."
"Thanks, I'll keep an eye out," Roy nodded.
"Okay, then let's take our leave. Let's go, Kanata."
"Yes, Vice President."
Utakata and Kanata turned and left the restaurant.
After the two left, Ayase stood there restlessly. Her long bangs covered her eyes, and she looked at Roy nervously, hesitating to speak.
"What do you want to say?" Roy gestured for her to sit opposite him.
"Sorry, it's my fault that you got into such trouble," Ayase said apologetically.
"It's not trouble, just a small matter," Roy shook his head. "You must not have finished eating. Do you want to order more?"
"No." Ayase's face was full of worry. "Just now, Vice President Utakata was right. Kuraudo is someone who will do whatever it takes to achieve his goals. To force a fight, he will hurt the people around you without hesitation."
Ayase's expression darkened further, clearly speaking from experience.
"I just arrived in Tokyo alone. I don't have any relatives or friends here," Roy smiled. "If he wants to threaten me that way, I'm afraid he can't."
Ayase blinked. "Oh..." She laughed dryly.
"That is... good, I suppose. At least Kuraudo won't hurt anyone close to you."
"However, being stared at by a rabid dog isn't pleasant," Roy mused. "It seems like a good idea to find an opportunity to solve this trouble permanently."
Ayase tilted her head in confusion.
