Chapter 142 - Joining the expedition
"It won't be shortchanged with you; I'm reassured."
Roy waved his hand confidently, showing no concern on his face.
If he couldn't trust her, Roy wouldn't have wasted time on her.
"Sounds nice, but you really don't worry about me taking your valis," Lefiya said, a smile unconsciously curving her lips despite her complaining tone.
"You've been in the dungeon these days? Couldn't find you even if I wanted to."
"I went to the deep floors for a week," Roy nodded.
"Alone? Or teamed with others?" Lefiya asked.
"Alone, of course. Besides you two, I don't know other high-class adventurers in Orario," Roy replied matter-of-factly.
"You're too reckless, going to the deep floors solo," worry and reproach appeared on Lefiya's face.
"With Roy's strength, staying in the deep floors is no issue," Ais interjected.
"I didn't go too deep—just lingered on the 41st floor before returning," Roy smiled at Lefiya.
"Those drop items and magic stones sold for over 130 million valis."
"Since I haven't seen you, they're stored in the guild bank temporarily."
"Come with us to withdraw it."
"No problem," Roy nodded, then asked what interested him.
"Heard your Loki Familia's expediting?"
"Yes!" Lefiya looked proud.
"I'm in the expedition team this time."
"After returning, you should rank up to Level 4, right?" Roy smiled.
"Captain Finn said I'd be a supporter, gaining Excelia for rank-up," Lefiya nodded.
"But unsure if I'll succeed."
"With your talent, rank-up's inevitable. If not this time, soon," Roy praised.
"You understand me well!" Lefiya lifted her head proudly.
"Actually, I ranked up to Level 6 after last dungeon return," Ais said, seeing Roy and Lefiya's lively chat.
"Level 6? Congratulations," Roy glanced at Ais, sensing her stronger aura.
"Mm, without your guidance, I wouldn't have reached Level 6 so fast," Ais said softly.
"When does your expedition start?" Roy asked his key question, planning to join the Loki Familia's.
"Depart morning in three days," Lefiya replied.
"Three days..." Preparations were quick; though Eina said a week.
"This expedition was set over half a month ago, but delayed by a nighttime intruder—to prevent repeats, we postponed to three days," Ais glanced faintly at Roy, explaining.
"Ah..." Roy laughed dryly.
He'd delayed the Loki Familia's progress.
"Seems urgent," Roy said calmly.
"But in three days, I'll go to dungeon—maybe join for a bit."
"Join for a bit? You can't expedition with us," Lefiya complained.
"I've nearly mastered concurrent chanting, but couldn't find you for sword training."
"Otherwise, help improve my close-combat in these three days."
"Deep floors worry me; concurrent chanting alone might not suffice. More strength means more safety. I don't want to drag the team."
"No problem," Roy nodded.
"Roy, want to expedition with us?" Ais pondered, asking hesitantly.
Staying with Roy meant more guidance and... Ais wasn't sure, but suddenly wanted more time together.
"Huh?" Lefiya's eyes widened incredulously.
"Roy's not our Familia; how can he join?"
"Apply for joint expedition," Ais explained. "Roy's Space helps our Loki Familia greatly."
Roy glanced at Ais... she understood him well.
"Captain Finn does struggle with supplies," Lefiya agreed, finding it feasible. "Roy joining does solved that."
Roy's space was adventurer-convenient.
Every Loki expedition limited by low supplies.
"Alright," Roy said bluntly.
"After Level 3, 40th-floor monsters give little Excelia. Joining your expedition means I get to encounter stronger foes."
"You're Level 3?" Lefiya asked surprised.
"You've been an adventurer less than a month?"
Ais trembled slightly.
"Nothing surprising. I was strong."
"Falna unlocked remaining potential, speeding rank-ups," Roy said.
"Is it that easy to rank up?" Lefiya still found it unbelievable.
Ais shook her head.
Some races had pre-Status strength, but their rank-ups were slow—nothing like Roy.
