Shadow's POV
Damn it! My mate can run, but what did I expect from a rogue? Even if she might be an omega. Walking? Jogging? Hiding?
"Why haven't you gotten a sight of our mate?! How slow can you be?!"
"I am not slow! Our mate seems to be pretty stubborn because she's running faster and faster! Like slow down, mate!"
"You have been chasing rogues for almost our whole life. Why can't you capture this one?"
"She's a rogue, Marcus, and if my assumption is right and she's an omega rogue, then we aren't the first alpha wolves she's running away from. She must have her tricks up her sleeve because speed is not the only thing that would make an alpha lose a trail."
"Fuck! You're right! Run faster"
I kept running after her, in the forest, even though I didn't know where we were because I had been on this side of the forest; this is a whole new place, and it will be a struggle to go back. The effort I will have to put in finding my pack's scent back and not focusing on the scent of my mate is gonna be the biggest struggle, but that isn't the problem right now.
I suddenly stopped in the middle of the forest, panting and looking around. I just know I have been here before, and her sweet, addictive smell is all around this place. Anywhere I turn, I can smell her scent. It's all around the forest, or till I can smell for far.
"What happened?! Why did you stop?!"
"Because I can smell her scent all over the forest!"
"What?! That can't be possible."
"It can be if she were running in circles around the forest to make me lose her trail. Told you, our mate definitely has a trick up her sleeve."
I could hear Marcus groaning in frustration in my head, and I am sure if we were in human form, then he would be throwing a fit right now.
