An XK-Class End-of-the-World Scenario?
Nobody could have predicted this. Just moments ago, the "gate to another world" appeared to be nothing more than an unusual portal. But now, it was being described as a potential cause of an XK-Class doomsday event—an extinction-level threat.
In the Depths of the Universe—The Observer Dimension
Watcher Uatu stood silently in the vast silence of his cosmic realm, deep in thought. The universe was vast and ancient, and across its stars, humans had occasionally stumbled upon entities they labeled as "gods." Cults formed, rituals were created, and people offered prayers and sacrifices. But the truth remained the same:
Gods don't care.
At least, most of them didn't.
This new gate, however, was different. It carried with it a strange energy… something ancient, powerful, and perhaps even discerning.
"A being that responds only to very specific rituals?" Uatu muttered. "Another force capable of ending everything… How fascinating."
At Kamar-Taj
Panic spread among the magic apprentices. Their faces were pale, and their hands trembled as they whispered among themselves.
"Another Keter-class SCP that could cause an XK-Class scenario?"
"The last time that happened, it was with SCP-239, wasn't it?"
"That was horrifying... and now this?"
Even the Ancient One, usually a pillar of calm and wisdom, seemed shaken. Normally, she would have offered reassurance. She would've smiled and told her students that the world had faced worse before.
But not this time.
Something deep inside her soul trembled as she stared at the SCP document now being broadcast. There was something deeply familiar about it, something that gnawed at the edges of her mind. A terrifying possibility.
Suddenly, a memory flashed before her—a glimpse of an incomprehensible figure, a presence that made her feel like an insect under a cosmic magnifying glass. Her expression turned deathly pale.
"No… it can't be. If it's him… even the Foundation might be powerless."
On the Live Feed: James Opens the File
In the broadcast, James finally clicked open the highly restricted Level 3 file labeled "SCP-2317." A wave of dread swept through the entire Marvel Universe audience.
Previously, some content had been redacted—particularly the final paragraphs of the Special Containment Procedures. But this time, the document updated with a strange blue-highlighted revision:
[The previous paragraph has been revised as follows:]
Each month, one Level 4/2317 clearance team member will be assigned as the "D-Class Personnel" to assist the Chief Master of Ceremonies.
Non-Level 3 personnel will be told that the assistant is a general D-Class volunteer.
All personnel involved in Procedure 220-Kayla Basas must be made aware:
This "assistant" is not a true D-Class. They are Foundation personnel and cannot be executed if they resist orders.
At S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters
"What?! A Level 4 Foundation member being disguised as a D-Class?" Natasha Romanoff exclaimed, eyes wide with disbelief.
"That's insane!" she continued. "Those high-clearance personnel are irreplaceable! Why put them at risk for a ritual?"
Nick Fury narrowed his one eye at the screen, folding his arms thoughtfully. "Maybe… they want to ensure the ritual isn't sabotaged."
Everyone froze at that possibility.
It made twisted sense. D-Class personnel—prisoners and criminals—were unpredictable and often insubordinate. In contrast, Level 4 operatives were loyal, highly trained, and deeply integrated into the Foundation. If the ritual's success was critical to preventing the end of the world…
Then sacrificing even a high-ranking member made sense.
"But… what kind of ritual needs this level of security?"
More Details Appear
Suddenly, a large appendix unfolded onscreen. It revealed the full list of requirements for Procedure 220-Kayla Basas.
Two armed Foundation guards (Level 3 or higher)
One Master of Ceremonies (Level 4 or higher)
One "Assistant" (special D-Class assignment)
One obsidian blade
One silver sprinkler and a bowl containing 500cc of holy water, blessed by Abrahamic clergy
Nick Fury's face darkened. "This really is a ritual to appease some higher being."
The Ritual Process: Seven Steps of Dread
As the broadcast scrolled through the ceremony instructions, silence fell across the entire Marvel Universe. The screen displayed the steps in grim detail:
Step 1:
The Assistant enters SCP-2317 first, followed by the Guards, and finally the Master of Ceremonies. The Assistant is watched closely and may be terminated if they attempt escape.
Step 2:
The celebrant walks around the seven pillars (SCP-2317-A through SCP-2317-G), sprinkling holy water with each step.
Step 3:
After the circumambulation, the celebrant sprinkles holy water on the assistant, while reciting a specific incantation.
Step 4 - Step 7:
[Redacted – but includes the use of the obsidian blade and ritual closure steps.]
The audience was stunned.
"What kind of dark, twisted ritual is this?!"
"Even the Catholic Church would label this heresy!"
"This isn't to please a god… This is to trap a monster."
The Chat Room Explodes
"WTF?! This is sacrilege!"
"This is not how you worship a benevolent god! This is how you keep the Devil in a cage!"
"Don't tell me this is SCP-2317's true form..."
Back at Kamar-Taj
Ancient One clutched her robe tightly. Her heart pounded. This wasn't just dark—it was blasphemous. Evil, even.
And then she whispered the word that had been floating in her mind.
"Elder God..."
Watcher Uatu's Insight
"220-Kayla Basas..." Uatu repeated softly. "If this ritual actually works, then… that entity must exist. And if it exists... what kind of force does it take to imprison it?"
His gaze shifted once again to the light screen. All eyes in the Marvel Universe were now fixed on James.
There was no turning back. The horror of SCP-2317 had become a collective obsession.
They had to know what lay at the heart of it.
James Unlocks Level 4 Security
With no hesitation, James moved to access the Level 4 file.
[You are attempting to access a Top-Secret Clearance File.]
[Incorrect credentials. You have 60 seconds to enter valid permissions.]
He entered his full credentials:
Username: Dr. James
Position: High-Level Researcher
Clearance: SCP-2317 Level 4
[Authorization accepted.]
[RAISA has logged your session.]
The screen loaded for a few seconds that felt like minutes. The air in the live stream grew heavy. Everyone held their breath.
And then—
Beep.
The Final Revelation
The document updated.
James scanned through the updated "Description" section and found it:
SCP-2317-AG extends 200 meters underground to SCP-2317-H.
SCP-2317-H is a spherical chamber 100 kilometers in diameter.
Within SCP-2317-H lies SCP-2317-K – "The Entity."
The audience stared.
"100 kilometers wide? A chamber that size?"
The next line brought silence so complete, it felt like the world itself had stopped.
Seismic analysis indicates SCP-2317-K is a humanoid being over 200 kilometers tall.
It has no jaw, multiple horns, and overlapping scales.
Seven hooks pierce its back, connected to chains that anchor it to the chamber ceiling.
At the time of this writing, six of the seven chains have broken.
Inside SHIELD
All agents sat in stunned silence.
Natasha spoke first, her voice barely a whisper: "Two hundred… kilometers..."
"This isn't a god," someone muttered. "It's a… cosmic prison."
Nick Fury, however, was focused on one detail.
"Six of the seven chains are broken."
His mouth went dry.
"One left... just one chain..."
A cold chill crept through his bones.
At Kamar-Taj
Ancient One's breath caught in her throat. For a moment, she had hoped—desperately—that this wasn't who she feared.
But now?
A 200km tall entity covered in scales… jawless… horned… chained...
She knew exactly who this was.
She clutched her chest as her heartbeat raced.
But then came the final horror.
The revised ritual.
Ancient One's eyes moved to the updated text. And when she read it—truly read it—her heart froze.
Even her soul felt like it had turned to ice.
