[3rd POV]
Staring down at the vial of blood in Athena's hands, Wanda breathed in, as a small pleased hum left her. It was primordial blood alright, and quite potent primordial blood at that. It exuded quite a lot of power, and had a sort of signature related to that of the Sea.
Of all the Primordials they could get blood from, the Primordial of the Seas was not the one she had been expecting. She was expecting Ouranos or maybe Gaia.
"Pontus? Can't say I was expecting him to be the one you'd get Primordial blood from" Wanda said with a hum, as Athena looked at her. She didn't even seem surprised that Wanda knew whose blood it was.
Seems she was getting used to the fact that Wanda was well beyond her, and knew a lot of things nobody else could or should.
"Where'd you get it from? And how did you get it?" Wanda asked, looking up into the eyes of Athena who hummed.
"I made a deal with Poseidon for it. He had a drop courtesy of Oceanus. It had been in his possession for thousands of years at this point, so I thought it would be worth it to make a trade" Athena explained, causing Wanda to nod slowly in understanding.
"And what did you trade for it? Nothing bad I hope" Wanda asked, curious.
"I swore on the River Styx that I would no longer harm or curse his children, unless they go out of their way to antagonize me and my own children" Athena responded. Wanda raised an eyebrow at this, as it was a pretty good trade.
Athena had a tendency to curse Poseidon's children, thanks to their rivalry and hatred for one another. It was one of the reasons why Wanda did not particularly care for the woman before her. It was more so neutrality with her than anything.
"It's not a bad trade, especially since all demigods would get protection after this either way, should you use one of your wishes on that protection for demigods idea you had earlier. Which I imagine you will" Wanda responded, nodding slowly as it was a good trade.
It would make it so that Athena basically got the blood from the man for free, and would not have to worry about the children and accidentally doing something stupid. Instead, it would apply to all Gods, making the trade heavily in her favor.
"Although, I imagine Poseidon will be pissed once he realizes that you basically had gotten the blood from him for free" Wanda added, as Athena nodded.
"He will be, until he realizes that this will be better for him in the long run. And you assume correctly, I'll be using one of my wishes on that protection. It'll aid the Demigods greatly, and stop the deaths of many of our children" Athena replied, already deciding that that wish was absolutely worth it.
Not only was it worth it, it was necessary. Without it, hundreds, if not thousands of Demigods would die every decade, and innocent children would continue to get ripped apart by monsters, and cursed by arrogant imbeciles that don't care about the suffering of children.
"Hmmm, and your other two wishes?" Wanda asked, already preparing to grant them.
"I don't suppose I could use a wish to get more wishes, could I?" Athena asked, making Wanda deadpan at her.
"No"
"Thought so" Athena nodded, before contemplating what she could do next. There was a lot of ideas she had on her mind, but she decided to use the next one to be a bit selfish. Or at least, bias towards her children.
"I wish all of my children are granted the absolute peak potential that they can reasonably have. Allowing them to reach the height of Demigod potential, and granting them even greater mental intelligence" Athena wished. Wanda raised an eyebrow at the wish.
"Hmm, it should be easy enough. It'll apply to future children as well. But I do ask that you stop having so many children every year, because otherwise it'll cause some serious issues with balance, and those little Fates you are all so scared of, might make things...less than enjoyable for the children" Wanda said, giving her a look of warning as Athena slowly nodded.
"Alright. I'll limit myself to one per year" Athena agreed, as she used to have many many many children every year. She did this by meshing her mind with talented mortal men, allowing her to have children without going against her oath to chastity.
She was one of the three Goddesses that would never marry, never lay with a man, and forever be single. Alongside Artemis, the Goddess that hated men more than anything, and Hestia, who simply did not want that sort of thing.
Speaking of Hestia, Wanda was really hoping to meet the woman soon. As she was one of her personal favored Gods, and was a truly kind woman. But being the Goddess of the Heart, and therefore family, would naturally do that.
"Good. And what will your last wish be?" Wanda asked, already granting the other two, as the two of them began to sweep into Athena's world, making the reforms. Nobody would even notice the changes until Athena herself explained them.
She doubted Athena would tell anyone about the second wish, but the first one was naturally going to be explained, otherwise those that try to go against it, will have a...not very enjoyable time afterwards.
Athena, hearing the question, went silent. It was a good question, and a very difficult one to answer. There were just so many things that she had wanted, so very many. So many things that could be done with a wish from an entity beyond them all.
But she only had one single wish. And she needed to make her decision. It was a barge decision, but she had to make one. And eventually, Athena stilled and decided on it.
"You spoke of how you cannot grant certain wishes due to their nature of going against fate and the balance of the greater universe, correct?" Athena asked, causing Wanda to raise an eyebrow before nodding.
"Thats correct"
"Then I will use my last wish to ask for a gift. To ask to receive the domain regarding Balance, therefore making me the Goddess of Balance" Athena asked, realizing that if she was the Goddess of Balance, she would be able to easily tell what she needed to do in order to keep the balance, while still helping her people.
On top of that, it would also massively boost her power, making her more akin to her father, Zeus, in terms of pure power. And that sort of boost would make a huge difference.
With that, it would no longer be the Big Three (Zeus, Poseidon, Hades), but "Big four", which would now include her. This would permanently restructure the entirety of Olympus, and would almost certainly strengthen them in the long run.
Wanda, hearing the wish, raised an eyebrow in surprise. That was not a wish she was expecting. And had Athena wished for a domain, Balance was not the one she was expecting at all.
"Hmm, it would seem you are in luck. For Balance falls under myself, considering I have dominion over Order, which is very closely tied to that of Balance. So your wish shall be granted. Once you return to your universe, the domain will be yours, and all of it's duties alongside it" Wanda explained, as the woman gave her a small smile.
"Excellent! Thank you, Lady Maximoff. Here is your vial of blood" Athena said, handing her the vial, before Wanda snapped her finger as all the books in the shop that Athena had not gotten last time, flowed out onto the ground, with only a handful still being locked away from the woman for good reason.
Athena smiled at all the new books she would have to read, as she made a small motion with her hand, all of them beginning to float around her.
With the wishes granted, her books given, and everything else finished, Athena decided it was time to go. As she could tell that Wanda was itching to claim the new power that the blood would no doubt grant her.
So, with that, she began to turn and walked over to the door to leave, but not before looking back to a smiling Wanda.
"Thank you, Lady Maximoff. And I hope next time you have even more incredible books for me to read" Athena said, before walking out of the shop, leaving Wanda alone.
And as Wanda stood there, staring at the vial in her hands, she began to slowly grin, one thought on her mind as she closed the store and made her way upstairs.
'Time to become a Primordial!'
