Chapter 143 - Chapter 143: 4 Days Later

[3rd POV]

Returning back to the Bookstore, Wanda had gotten back to her normal routine the next day. Well, mostly. She now had a clone looking through the book bag that had literal billions of books inside. And she had already found dozens of books that she had put out into the shop, as well as a dozen more that she had added to her "TBR" aka her "To Be Read" list.

She found that her "To Be Read" list was getting bigger and bigger with every world she was traveling to, and with every new customer that came into her shop with new books for her to buy off of them.

But she didn't really mind that much. As she found that most of the books on her "To Be Read" list were genuinely interesting, and most of them weren't insanely long.

Her clone was actively going through the book bag, and had gotten through around a million of them. Using a good bit of good old fashion time warping, as well as the immense speeds that she had. She estimated that it should be done and over with by the time the next month started.

So a little over 20 days, give or take a few days.

Most of the books that she had found in the book bag were martial arts. A LOT of martial arts, like way more than she had been expecting. Nearly forty percent of the total amount of books that she had gotten from the wish were martial arts, or related to martial arts in some form.

But the more she thought about this, the more it made sense. As it was a world that was entirely centered around martial arts, afterall.

Another huge bulk of the books inside were actually books on ki and/or magic. This was a good thing for her, as it would mean that she could learn some new ki techniques for fun, and Raven could find some new magic to learn as she had been meaning to learn more magics.

While the kids could use the ki books and the magic books, as there were already a few books that she had found that they would likely be able to gain something from. Especially the books on some beginner techniques that she had not taught them yet.

Hell, there were even books in the book bag that even she could gain some genuine use from. Like the books that talked about the creation of dragon balls, and how they worked in the first place.

She thought the idea of making her own set of dragon balls could be fun. Maybe make it so that a customer could come in and buy the right to use them once for a wish within reason. Or maybe they get a free wish after spending a certain amount of money at her shop, or by trading in a certain amount of books within her shop.

She imagined it would get a ton of attention from those with the money, and with those that actually would need the wish in the first place. The chief amongst the ones that could gain something out of it would likely end up being the villains that are members of the "Light".

Speaking of the Light, she had been keeping an eye on them the past few days, and found out that they were doing something a little stupid, but also kind of amusing.

They were trying to direct Joker in the direction of her shop. Because from what she could tell, they wanted her to get rid of the man permanently. Because not only was he a monster that even they didn't like, he was also impossible to work with, and even harder to understand or predict.

This made him a liability for any plans that they might have in Gotham, or literally any plans that might involve him in any form. Including those that worked with him, like Harley Quinn.

Although from what Wanda had seen, Ivy had recently managed to drag the manipulated and corrupted woman away from the man, and was actively trying to help her friend get over the Joker.

She could already see those two getting together soon. And she had even made a bet with Raven about how long it would take before Ivy would bring Harley to the shop for a potential job.

If Harley was to come to the shop for a job, Wanda would find one for her. She imagined a job revolving around stocking books could be easy, or maybe a babysitter job for the kids could be fun.

She'd be a chaotic influence on them, but she doubted it'd be much different than how they already were. But it would make it easier for them to go out and have fun as kids deserve to.

Although Wanda was a little put off with the fact that the Light thought they had the right to direct the Joker towards her shop, she eventually decided not to get too angry with it. As she actually wanted the man dead, and was planning on getting rid of him either way, so this was just an excuse to finally do it.

But she would be giving them a warning about this next time one of them came around to the shop, so as to make sure that they never tried something like this ever again, lest she give them a punishment similar to that of Captain Atoms.

Captain Atom was still struggling to find anyone to go on a date with, and had taken to drinking and whining in bars to get over his heartbreak at the fact that he was without love in his life. And none of the League members could even help him, because none of them wanted to risk the wrath of Wanda.

All of this stuff with Joker eventually came to a head, two days after she had returned from their little trip into the world of Dragon Ball.

[Short Flashback]

It had been two days since Wanda had returned, and not a lot had happened during this time. She had gotten a visit from Luthor again, who had wanted to check out her new books, as well as a visit from the Doctor and Rose who had bought some of her new romance books, and in the case of the Doctor, some of the science books she had gotten from Dragon Ball.

At the moment she was sitting behind her counter, a bored yawn echoing from her as she read a book on advanced ki techniques from some ancient species that had died out eons ago. The species itself was one of the greatest ki masters in that universe's history.

So it made it a very worthwhile read.

As she read the book, she heard the door ding as it opened, causing her to look up with a smile, only to stop when she saw who was standing there.

The Joker.

"Hah! They weren't kidding, this place really is-" "Yeah, no" Wanda cut him off with a cold gleam in her eyes, not even giving the madman another moment, making a swiping motion with her hands as the mans eyes widened.

He died a moment later, a smile on his face as he was atomized down to the last atom, his soul being obliterated and wiped from the universe with a casual motion from Wanda.

Looking at the place that the Joker had just died in, Wanda shrugged and looked back down at her book.

She really didn't like him.

[Flashback End]

Yeah...she had killed him casually. She didn't make a fuss about killing him, didn't hesitate like others, just wiped him out. She wasn't even going to bother laughing or being happy, and wasn't going to waste her emotions on the man.

He was dead and gone, and that was it.

She imagined that Batman would come around in the future once he realized that his archenemy wasn't doing anything and had seemingly disappeared. But she really didn't give a damn, the man couldn't touch her after all.

Currently Wanda was sat behind her counter, two days after the death of the Joker. She had only recently connected her shop to a new random universe, and was just waiting for someone to enter. She hoped it would be someplace interesting, as it had been a while since she had a new guest.

And thankfully, she didn't need to wait any longer, as she blinked and heard the door ding, causing her to look up. Only for her eyebrow to shoot up as she saw who stood there, her face warping into a grin as she met a man she has been wanting to meet for a long time.

One of her favorite anime characters of all time.

A man who was looking around with a tilt of his head, an emotionless look in his eyes, and his bald head shining underneath the light of the bulb above them.

The one and only...

Saitama

That's the end of the chapter!

So originally I was going to have the store connect to either: Bleach, Fairy Tail, Danmachi, or Black Clover, before realizing the sheer amount of shenanigans that Saitama could bring to the table.

So yeah, Saitama is going to be a regular at her shop, that will cause a lot of trouble, amusing trouble, but trouble.

Anyways, have a good day!
