[3rd POV]
As it turns out, he had selected quite the assortment of books. Around 20 of them in total, which was a bit of a surprise considering he wasn't exactly the most wealthy person in the world. Money had always been a problem for him, which is a travesty considering what he did for a living, and how many lives he has saved over the years.
The books he had picked out were wide ranging.
He had selected a handful of martial arts books after her suggestion for improving them, each of them being surprisingly suitable for his powers and the overall style he is going for. Flexible, wild, and next to impossible to really calculate or guess how it was going to go next.
He had also grabbed several science books, these were on advanced engineering that could probably improve his suit dramatically. As well as books on advanced quantum mechanics, and advanced electrical engineering.
All of them would be useful for him and the suits he makes. Which Wanda assumed is what he is going to use it for. To improve his suits and make them stronger than just a spandex, because that is basically what they are at this point.
Not exactly the most durable and defensive suits to wear when fighting against all sorts of villains. Many of which use bombs, blades, and other weapons of similar style.
The total price of all the books added together is a little over two hundred dollars. Not that cheap, but not too expensive.
"Wow, you're right, that is way cheaper than I was expecting" Peter said in surprise, having fully expected for the total to be double that, which would have probably forced him to put some of the books back.
But two hundred dollars? Yeah, he could pay that without too much of a problem.
Placing two one hundred dollar bills onto the counter, Wanda took them with a smile, as she took the last ten dollars owed a moment later. She didn't charge tax or anything, so he didn't have to worry about anything else.
"I'm assuming you're using these to upgrade that suit of yours?" Wanda asked, placing the books into a bag for the man, albeit somewhat slowly. She wanted to talk with him more than that, and didn't want him to run off just yet.
"Huh? Uh yeah! I figured I could use an upgrade, and if these books really have all the information that they are advertising, then I should be able to learn some new methods to improve my web shooters from here"
"And what about the durability of your suit? Are you not going to upgrade that?" Wanda asked, raising an eyebrow as it seemed that the man hadn't even thought of that. Which was...probably like the first thing he should be upgrading realistically.
"Uh...yeah? I totally, definitely, absolutely thought about that!" Peter nodded rapidly, as he tried to fight off the embarrassment as he realized he hadn't even thought about that, and was more focused on upgrading his web shooters.
Something that probably didn't need an upgrade as much as the suit itself did.
"And what about training your spider senses? Have you thought about working on that?" Wanda asked her second question, hoping to get the man to train in his senses. As the spider scenes would be a great boon to him if he just learned how to develop it further.
"Train my spider senses?"
"Mmhmm, if you train your spider senses they'll become stronger. This way you can react to attacks before they are even thrown, like, seconds before they are thrown. And in your line of work, I imagine that sort of boost would be a huge help" Wanda responded.
"How would I train in my senses?" Peter asked, growing very interested in training them now. He had been beaten to hell so many times that he had lost count at this point. And if he could train his senses to a higher level, then he would gladly undergo that training.
Especially if it meant that he would be able to defeat his villains easier than now, which would therefore lower the amount of civilians harmed in the crossfire. And that was all he really cared about.
"Well there are a few ways you can do it. You can get someone to help you, do frequent spars every single day in which they are genuinely trying to hit you. Cutting off your other senses, like your sight, smell, hearing, and taste would also drastically help as you would be solely relying on your Spider senses" Wanda began, before continuing.
"You could also set up a machine that will fire things at you in random areas at random intervals, which would force you to rely on your spider senses to dodge. And again, if you cut off all senses besides spider senses then this training will be far far more efficient" Wanda explained, there were other ways he could do it, but these were the simplest ones.
"So...basically just cut off all senses besides Spider Sense, and then train with others or with machines that will force me to dodge. Seems simple enough" Peter responded with a nod, deciding that he'd need to contact some people for this, as he definitely had to train this way in order to improve his spider senses.
It'd be a waste not to after Wanda had just given him the method.
"It sounds simple, until you are constantly getting hit all over, and are forced to learn how to live without senses" Wanda said with a small smile, already knowing that he would be hurting over the coming days once he started to train this way.
It would be worth it in the end.
"Can't be any worse than what I already deal with. Oh, and can I get a couple blueberry muffins? I'm starving" Peter asked, as Wanda nodded, two blueberry muffins floating over to the counter as the man placed a five dollar bill onto the counter after seeing the price for them.
Taking the muffins, the man smiled.
"Thanks Wanda, have a good rest of your day!" Peter said with a wave, his previous nervousness around Wanda gone after seeing how nice she was. He inwardly decided that he would definitely be returning again in the future, whenever that will be.
Watching him leave, Wanda smiled.
"Seems his life will be getting a lot easier in the coming months" Wanda said, knowing that with these training methods, there was a very good chance that he would be able to grow to the point of easily defeating some of the villains he used to struggle against.
Like the Sinister Six.
Spider Senses were just that incredibly strong.
"How long before he can develop his spider senses to the point that he can sense attacks before they even happen?" Raven asked at her side, biting into a muffin of her own.
"It'll take a while, probably months, maybe even years. But once he reaches that level, the previous villains that nearly drove him to death several times before, would no longer be nearly as much of an issue. It'll be worth it" Wanda responded as the man exited the shop, the door dinging as it closed behind him.
"If another version of you exists in that multiverse, does this mean she will come here in the future?" Ivy asked, as she stepped out from behind them, she had been silently waiting for Peter to leave so she could water the flowers and swap out some of the old ones for newer, more beautiful ones.
"It's pretty likely. Once she finds out about this place, she'll come here" Wanda nodded.
"And are you okay with that?" Ivy asked, raising an eyebrow at Wanda's lack of a reaction to the fact that her counterpart might come around soon.
"Hmm? Of course. I knew when I connected my shop to that place that she would likely come here eventually, it's not a problem. I'm just hoping it is before she makes the greatest mistake of her life" Wanda said, still not sure where in the timeline it was.
At first she thought it was before Secret Wars, but now it was hard to tell. She just hoped that the three words hadn't escaped her counterpart yet, so maybe she could stop her from wiping out so many lives, and decimating an entire species into near extinction.
Ivy and Raven glanced at each other when they saw the expression on Wanda's face, and both just said the same thing in response, and that was...
"...Let's just hope"
