Chapter 110: Sneasel Sneak Attack
~Third POV~
[Johto Region, New Bark Town – Eastern Outskirts, Elm's Lab]
*Yoink*
When Professor Elm isn't watching, Silver drops down from the ceiling and snatches a Poké Ball containing a Totodile from the table. As Silver is making his escape, Prof. Elm turned his back and yelled in an alarmed tone, "What?! T-Totodile's Poke Ball… It's gone?! What's going on?! How does a Poke Ball just disappear?!"
*Tp*
Making it up undetected, Silver looked at Totodile's Poke Ball as he smirked, thinking, 'Perfect. Now I just have to slip out the window.'
Meanwhile, outside Elm's Lab, Joey and Gold arrived. Gold asks Joey as he catches his breath, "So this is where Elm does his stuff, huh?"
Just as Joey tries to enter the front, Gold stops him as he climbs through the window on top of the house, as he explains to himself, "The thief must know we're coming. It wouldn't be hard to set up a trap. We're going through the second-floor window."
*Tm*
Climbing up, Joey warns Gold to be careful as he successfully makes it to a balcony. He prepares himself to enter as he speaks to his Aipom, "Ready, Aibo?"
*TOOM*
Sliding over the glass door, Gold and Aibo were prepared to enter. But they stopped seeing Silver and Sneasel come out at that exact moment, momentarily freezing the two trainers in their tracks.
*DOING*
Silver jumps up, hiding as Gold rushes inside. Prof. Elm, seeing these mistakes, gave Gold for the thief as he yelled angrily, "Who…? You stole my Totodile!!"
Gold quickly justifies himself, waving his hand, uttering, "Did not!!"
Prof. Elm prepares to battle with Sentret as he didn't believe Gold's words, responding, "You expect me to believe – "
Gold tried to warn Elm, but it was too late. Silve drops down, ordering, "Sneasel! Icy Wind!"
*Sheeee*
*GONK*
A cold breeze from Senseal claws froze the ground solid in ice. Prof. Elm and Sentret slipped, knocking their heads down on the ground unconscious.
*BAM*
Joey comes in to see what happened. But he also slipped on his head, knocking himself out comically.
Gold cried out, seeing Joey getting hurt, and chased after Silver as he ordered, "Let's get'em!! Aibo! Scratch!!"
*BUP*
As Aibo lunged forward for a Scratch attack, Silver countered, "Protect!"
*BUP*
Landing down, seeing its attack failed to make any damage, Gold recalled Aipom. He used his billiard cue to make a trick shot, announcing, "If we can't take'em from the front – "
*Tak*
*Shhhh*
*BOM*
Gold makes an expert shot with his billiard cue, making Aipom's Poke Ball slide behind Sneasel, opening it up to have Aipom attack with Scratch as he declared, "-come from behind! Give me back my backpack!!"
Silver paused, looking from above the stairs as he asked confused, "What backpack?"
Gold's eyes narrowed as he said bluntly, not believing Silver's words, "Don't play games with me! I'm taking it back!!"
The two were in a standoff for a moment as Gold thought, feeling nervous, battling against Silver in a cautious tone, 'Big words… but there's something scary about this guy… and I'll probably never get away with another surprise attack… so what do I huh?!'
Gold notices on the table that one of the three Poké Balls is missing, turning his head to Silver, yelling bluntly, "So you don't just snatch backpacks. You're a kidnapper too, eh?"
*Takataka*
*Kataka*
Gold sees that the Cyndaquil inside one of the other Poké Balls is upset that Totodile is missing. As his backpack full of Poké Balls was stolen earlier, Gold is sympathetic to having a Pokémon friend taken away, as he said confidently, "I know what it's like to have one of your friends taken. Looks like we both want something… that this creep stole. What do you say to combining forces?"
Gold offers to fight together with Cyndaquil. The fire type nodded, agreeing.
*Pop*
He releases it from the Poké Ball, and, not knowing its name, asks curiously, "But I don't even know what kind of Pokémon you are… what am I supposed to call you?!"
*POOM*
Cyndaquil's back exploded in fire as it was surprised by Gold. Noticing this, he thought of a nickname as he said, "Your backside's as explosive as my hair… how about if I call you… Exbo? Yeah? Okay… Let's do this Exbo!!"
Silver prepares himself for battle, grabbing another Poke Ball. His eyes narrowed as he had to deal with Gold…

[Johto Region, New Bark Town – Northern Outskirts]
Meanwhile, the Team Rocket Elite Trio, Ken, Al, and Harry, are gloating about having stolen Joey's backpack. Holding the Backpack, Al gloated happily, "Hee-Hee-Hee! All the precious research that Oak and Elm wanted to keep to themselves, and now it belongs to… Team Rocket!"
Ken nodded his head, having Ekans nearby as he said excitedly, "And who'd have thought all we had to do for it was…"
Then Harry added on finishing Ken's words as he zipped open the bag excitedly says, "… Grab a backpack off the ground! Now open it, and let's…"
*Zzzip*
When they opened the bag to their dismay, they discovered it was Gold's, which did not contain Professor Oak's important documents. They began to argue amongst each other for having failed their mission.
"These aren't the Pokémon they said we'd find!!"
"It can't be the wrong bag!!"
"But it is! We messed up!!"
"We've gotta to find that kid again!!"
"Hey! What about this bag?"
"Just throw it away!!"
Frustrated, one of the members tosses the bag aside, and the Poké Ball containing Polibo the Poliwag rolls away into a river. He could only look on in worry that Gold would be missing it dearly…

[Johto Region, New Bark Town – Eastern Outskirts, Elm's Lab]
Returning to Gold gave chase to Silver as he yelled, "Give me my backpack!"
Silver escapes from Professor Elm's lab, with Gold chasing closely behind. However, seeing Silver's parkour skills, he looked at Expo as he muttered, "Expo, I don't know what kind of attacks you can do, but that flame on your back, a weapon, right? Well, if there's a time to use it… Use it… NOW!"
*Ssszzzz*
*ZOOOSH*
Gold uses Exbo's firepower to grab Silver unguarded. He was forced to drop down, seeing his glove being burnt ablaze as he flinched, "Nh!! That hurts… hff… hff… Senseal, you've got to…"
*THP*
However, Gold with his Billiard cue over Silver's throat stopped him in his tracks as he demanded, "Too late. I got tired of chasing you around, so I decided to contain you within a ring of fire."
*HOOOSSH*
Being contained within a ring of fire, Silver was momentarily trapped. Gold demanded from Silver in a serious tone, "Just gimme my backpack… and give Totodile back to Exbo! Right now – "
*ZAP*
Just as Gold demanded that Silver return his backpack and Totodile to Professor Elm. Before Silver could respond, however, Gold was attacked by a Thunder Punch from Ken's Elekid, knocking both him and Expo unconscious.
*WMMM*
Ken interrupts, revealing that it was he who took Gold's bag, expecting it to be Joey's, which had Professor Oak's important documents inside. However, Silver reveals he contained Totodile in a determined tone, "Tough luck. I've already got Totodile and Cyndaquil… is the one you just took down."
Ken challenges Silver to a battle to steal Professor Elm's Totodile and Cyndaquil from them in a determined tone, "W… What?!! Then we're going to have to take you down too – "
*RMBL*
Before any of them could act, a sudden rumble was heard. From that rumbling came a command as Azure said, "Larvitar! Earth Power!"
*BOOOM*
The cracks formed underneath Elekid when it was attacked from the ground below, tossing it into a nearby tree. The attack made it faint from a single attack.
Team Rocket Elite Trio's eyes darted towards Azure's figure, casually coming too. Silver sees him as he uses the Pokedex he stole, checking his Pokémon levels as he paled reading the info, 'Larvitar Lv.20, Misdreavus Lv.20, Wooper Lv.12… Eevee Lv.68?! Pikachu Lv.75?!! Who the heck is this guy!'
Casually strolling, Azure had Wooper in his arms. Pikachu's cheeks are sparking with electricity at the ready.
Eevee is walking beside Azure side glaring at Team Rocket. Larvitar is in the front, looking smug. And Misdreavus floated nearby, gazing at the grunts mischievously.
*Shiver*
Ken, Al, and Harry felt a cold shiver run down their spine meeting Azure. Silver noticed this as he thought confused, 'Wait… they seem afraid of him? How would Team Rocket members like them be afraid of him?'
As Silver considered his options, Azure calmly gazed at him as he bluntly said, "Soul Silver, right? You're Green's little brother?"
Silver froze on the spot. Worry and concern began to fill him as he thought, gazing at Azure with a frightened expression, 'Sister Green! Did he do something to her?'
Azure noticed the Team Rocket Elite Trio, Al, Harry, and Ken, tried to hightail it, running away from him. But froze, turning to see Misdreavus used Mean Look, preventing them from fleeing.
Azure smiled innocently that sending chills down the Team Rocket Elite Trio as he stated bluntly, "Drop your belongings. Poke Dollars, TMs, and Held Items. And you will leave this unscathed. This is a shakedown."
*Thud*
They dropped everything as Azure kept his word. The Pokémon within saw disappointed looks from their trainers as they ran away with Azure's eyes narrowed, ordered, "Pikachu. Thunderbolt."
*BOOOOM*
Launching a powerful Thunderbolt, the Team Rocket Elite Trio ran away in fear. Purposely avoiding the attack, Pikachu landed on his shoulder, muttering, "Pi… Pika! (Yeah! You better run!!)"
Azure sighed helplessly, shaking his head as he began looting their items and loot. Silver was about to move to get away, but noticed he couldn't as his eyes darted towards Misdreavus as he thought bitterly assuming the worse, 'Damn it… Mean Look. Is he with the Masked Army…'
Silver shook as he felt a chill run down his spine. Azure reached a hand for him, and in that split second, Silver thought he was about to be knocked out, dragged back to the Masked Army, and 'judged' as a traitor.
However, unexpectedly, he pulled out his Arc Phone. He turned it on, finding the right number and the person as the screen lit up, as a video call connected.
The person at the other end made Silver's heart sink into despair as he yelled, "Sister Green… you got captured too?!"
*Beep*
On the screen, Green saw Silver's sudden accusation left her utterly confused as she yelled, "What do you mean I got captured?!"
Silver froze, confused about what was going on. Azure's voice broke through his thoughts as he said clearly, "Sigh… I figured as much. Both stealing Pokémon from Professors and Pokedexes… but first, we should probably leave."
Silver, noticing the scene, reluctantly nodded, agreeing. Both began to walk away, leaving everything as it was for now.

[Johto Region, Later, Route 29]
Sometime later, a policeman confronts Gold about the charred lawn, which was damaged by Exbo's fire attacks. Joey explains to Gold that Professor Elm's hip was injured during the altercation with Silver and that he had to go to the hospital.
The policeman says that the thief who stole Totodile attacked from behind and that Professor Elm, his assistant, and Joey didn't see the perpetrator. Gold is taken to the police station to compose a composite image from his memory of Silver.
Meanwhile, with Silver and Azure, they made it to Route 29 away from the police or anyone to interfere. His been briefed on who Azure was as he frowned.
He didn't trust Azure, but if his sister was already his friend, having her phone number… he didn't trust him in the slightest.
*Beep*
Hanging up the call with Green Silver looked at Azure with a neutral expression as he said stoically, "And what are you going to do to me…"
Silver was nervous, as he had learned that Azure was the Ninth Pokémon League Champion. The same guy who defeated Lance, his current mentor, his learning from a year ago's cornering him…
He couldn't escape from him even if he wanted to. And to make matters worse, his training a new team while in Johto, and he couldn't even defend against them, much less his aces sitting on his shoulder and head.
Azure gazed at Silver as he shrugged, much to his shock, as he said calmly, "Nothing. You and Green have something going on. And besides that, I have my own thing going on here in Johto. But if you need any help, don't hesitate to ask."
Grinning, he turned to leave, leaving Silver baffled, and meeting Azure. He was letting him go as he carried on his business he sighing a breath of relief, saying, "Sigh… Sister Green has some powerful and weird friends. But for now, the Masked Army."
Narrowly having escaped from his predicament and revelations, he wasn't the only one startled by his appearance. Green has learned news that the Silver and Rainbow Feathers were missing, as she heard from Yellow losing them as she lost her feather.
