Chapter 5 - Hex benefit

As they regained consciousness, the group found themselves in a peaceful and serene environment. Colt, still drowsy, asked, "Did we defeat the beast?" Lord Lugard replied, "Apparently, as funny as it may seem, the beast left us alone. No one was harmed, that's got to be something to be grateful about."

Keshawn's eyes widened in surprise. "Wait, seriously? No way! How's that possible? A magic beast of that caliber that doesn't end the life of its prey? I must say, we are indeed lucky."

The group began to discuss the strange encounter, wondering if the beast was meant to be in the dungeon. Lord Lugard stood up, signaling the group to prepare for the next step. "While you guys were asleep, I scouted the area and stumbled upon the Dungeon boss chamber. It's guarded by a small group of Udons."

Colt groaned, "Haven't we fought these beasts enough today? I mean, aren't you tired of seeing their structure too, Lord Lugard?"

Lord Lugard smiled. "Well, yes... Colt, I understand what you're saying, but we've collected quite a huge number of their fangs for weapon creation and their thick, iron-like fur."

The group planned their strategy, deciding to strike at once after replenishing their mana. Keshawn would conjure a fire storm to eradicate the Udons. With Lord Lugard's guidance, they approached the Dungeon boss chamber.

As they entered the chamber, they were met with a long corridor lit by candles attached to the walls. Distant drum beatings echoed throughout the corridor, growing louder and changing patterns as they walked further. The group felt an eerie gaze following them, as if they were being spied on.

The drum beatings stopped, and a gate appeared, blocking their path. They entered the gate, which vanished behind them. On the other side, they found themselves in a large, dark region with a massive, rectangular ring above 50 meters in the air.

As they entered the ring, the gate closed, and they heard rumblings. The ground they stood on was destroyed, revealing the Dungeon boss: a massive, two-headed wolf with a long, spiky tail and porcupine-like fur.

The boss dashed towards them, pouncing on the ground to disrupt their focus. Colt conjured a fire shield, but one of the wolf's heads froze it. Xavier unleashed swift aerial punches, pushing the boss back. Guwen created lava bindings to restrain the boss, but it broke free and healed its injuries.

The battle raged on, with the group using their unique abilities to attack the boss. However, they soon realized that the boss they were fighting was not the real one. The real boss emerged from the ground, and the group focused their attacks on it.

As the battle reached its climax, Hex appeared, speaking to Ace. "Do you wish to end this little beast's life?" Ace reluctantly granted Hex permission to assist. Time paused, and Hex drained the boss's mana, giving it to Ace. The flow of time resumed, and the boss's water barrier was dispelled.

Guwen seized the opportunity, injuring the boss's legs with his axe. Colt and Guwen unleashed a barrage of attacks, piercing the boss's flesh and pressing its body to the ground. Finally, Guwen chopped off the boss's head, ending the battle.

As they caught their breath, Xavier exclaimed, "To think we survived the horror of this dungeon... I don't even know the rank to classify it." Lord Lugard smiled, "That shouldn't be your problem at all, Xavier. I'll explain the horrors of this dungeon to the Sorcerer Supreme when I go to the Imperial capital."

The dungeon region faded away, replaced by the sounds of birds chirping and the sight of tall trees. The group found themselves back in the grassy plains, with Colt sitting on the grass, smiling at the sky. Keshawn approached the Sorcerer Supreme, bowing his head in respect. Though their voices were inaudible, their actions spoke volumes.
