I don't know how much time had passed when the sound of a graceful gait slowly approached. Iris Harris stared at the ground until a pair of noble black leather shoes appeared in front of her. She slowly lifted her head, looking into those dark eyes. The other person's gaze held a casual smile, as if mocking her for how meaningless her persistence had been for so many days.
Henry Ford slowly crouched down and reached out to touch her face. His tone was gentle yet carried a hint of sarcasm, "I am not Brandan, Iris. How could I possibly be merciful to you?"
Iris Harris trembled as she bit her lip, her fine white teeth pressing hard to stifle the fury that was on the verge of spilling out.
She slowly lowered her head, allowing Henry Ford's cool fingers to caress her cheek. "Please... spare Melody. No matter how many mistakes she has made, she shouldn't be punished with prison. Doing so would ruin her life..."
