Edward Stephens brought her out of the clothing store, but did not go back.
Instead, he took her to the small supermarket in the town.
He pushed a cart inside, Daisy Ginger followed behind him, watching him pick and choose, buying eggs and pork, and even a bag of flour.
Finally, he bought five kilograms of rice.
The small supermarket didn't have much, not even fresh fish or meat, so Edward Stephens had to settle for a frozen raw chicken, saying he would "make her chicken soup" when they got back.
Daisy Ginger followed behind him, hearing this, she pouted, "Can Irene make chicken soup?"
Edward Stephens pushed the cart to the cashier, and said calmly, "I can."
Daisy Ginger looked at him in surprise, then scorned, "Do you have no shame?"
The man shrugged, "Just you wait."
Because they bought a bunch of stuff, when they got home, Irene saw him carrying bags and seemed a bit startled.
Edward Stephens said to Irene, "Go wash the clothes, Daisy Ginger needs them for tonight."
