The last sentence was clearly spoken with a hint of anger.
Daisy Ginger bit her chopsticks, pondering Edward Stephens' words deeply and reflected on them.
"Why didn't you call me when you went to the police station? Aren't we living together?"
Daisy thought about it, indeed, when the police called, she instinctively went out alone, not realizing she could go with Edward.
She really had gotten used to being independent and forgot that there was someone by her side she could rely on.
Perhaps she should try to rely on someone rather than bear all this alone.
Daisy raised her head, looked at the man's face, and her eyes softened.

After lunch, Daisy was coaxed by Edward and carried to the bed to take a nap.
When she woke up, the man was on the sofa next to the bed. Hearing her stir, he turned his head: "Awake?"
For some reason, waking up in such an afternoon to see him made her feel much more at ease.
"Did the police say anything to you?"
