"Irene, I usually think you're quite smart. So why do you play dumb as soon as I mention something important?" Enzo Land was sure that Irene Morton understood what he meant, but she was just pretending to be clueless.
"I really don't know." She wasn't familiar with Enzo Land, so she wouldn't reveal her thoughts to him.
"Alright, since you really don't know, I'll be frank with you. What your father and I mean is..." Enzo Land paused, leaned close to Irene's ear, and whispered a few words.
Irene listened and her lips parted slightly in obvious surprise.
"Is my dad really going to do this?"

Even though she really wanted Sophie Smith and her son to disappear from this world, when it came to actually taking action, her heart was filled more with fear.
