Nolan Davis looked at the small figure under the blanket, his lips curved into a gentle smile.
He quietly exited the room, closing the door behind him.
He walked to the sofa in the living room, took out his phone, and dialed Sophie Smith.
"Not asleep yet?" He glanced at the time on the wall; it was indeed quite late.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Davis, I've troubled you so much today…" Sophie spoke with guilt, "I had an event tonight, so…"
"It's alright." Nolan interrupted her; he didn't want to hear her polite words.
"Alexander said he wants to stay here tomorrow. Do you have time? If you do, come over for dinner. You've started to get busy with work; it's a rare weekend, you should spend it with Alexander, otherwise,…" Nolan paused for a moment, but then continued, "otherwise Alexander might think he doesn't have a father, and that his mother doesn't love him anymore."
Sophie froze; would Alexander really think that way? Her heart felt heavy.
"Okay, I'll come over tomorrow."
