Aira was mad!
It had been a while since she had felt such intense emotions. It was chaotic simply to feel it as she stared at her mother, who had calmed down but now had a vastly numb look on her face.
Almost like nothing mattered.
Do you… do you care about anyone but yourself? Aira asked, trying to understand that the woman in front of her was not just an empty shell.
Trying to find something to prove that she wasn't as heartless as she looked. That it was what Lord Dangrey did to her that made her appear that way.
But the harder she looked, the less she saw as she stood beside the bed, staring at her mother with blatant anger.
"I cared about Lord Dangrey," Selira, her mother, coldly responded, even as Aira instantly turned around and walked out of the room.
Aware that if she remained there, they would fight, and she wasn't the one that was going to get hurt.
