Chapter 170 - Chapter 169: Overflowing Motherly Love… Is It Time to Make a Baby Early?

The next morning, Kazuki, Suzie, and Misty were enjoying a hearty breakfast in their Neon Town hotel.

Suzie took a sip of juice, her eyes half-closed in bliss. "Kazuki, Jigglypuff's singing last night was amazing! I haven't slept that well in ages."

Misty stretched lazily and nodded. "Seriously. I feel like I could wrestle a Gyarados right now."

Then she narrowed her eyes. "Wait a second… Kazuki, did you feed Jigglypuff something special again? It's been prancing around all morning showing off that pink ribbon."

Kazuki set down his fork and smiled mysteriously. "That's its reward. The little songstress deserves it. After all, it helped the whole town sleep through the night."

Across the room, Jigglypuff was bragging to Pikachu and Psyduck about the ribbon tied proudly around her neck. Luckily, she couldn't hear Kazuki calling her a song goddess—if she knew her singing had literally knocked everyone out, she'd probably throw a fit.

After breakfast, the three packed their things and left Neon Town, heading south toward Cinnabar Gym.

But they hadn't gone far before spotting a crowd of people running by, all carrying shovels and picks, shouting excitedly.

"Did you hear? They found fossils in Grampa Canyon! Real ancient Pokémon fossils!"

"No way!"

"Come on, we've gotta dig before they're gone!"

"Maybe we'll find a Kabuto fossil or something rare!"

Kazuki's brow lifted. Grampa Canyon?

That was where the Aerodactyl fossils were discovered in the original script.

His mind lit up instantly. Wait a second…

The Legendary Gene Restoration Card!

If he could capture an Aerodactyl and use that card, it could revert to its ancient state—the same as its Mega Evolution form—but permanently!

A prehistoric sky lord with a base stat total of 615. No temporary Mega, no time limit. The real deal.

Kazuki's heart raced. He turned to the girls. "Let's check out Grampa Canyon. Who knows what we'll find."

Misty's eyes sparkled. "You mean we're going fossil hunting?"

Suzie giggled. "Sounds fun. Maybe we'll dig up something legendary."

Misty clasped her hands together eagerly. "What if it's a powerful Water-type fossil Pokémon?!"

Suzie blinked. "Um, aren't fossils… you know… dry?"

"Oh. Right." Misty deflated instantly.

Kazuki laughed. "Don't lose hope. There are Water-type fossils too."

He already knew the truth—besides Aerodactyl, Omanyte also lived in that valley. It was Water and Rock type, perfectly suited for Misty.

Just as the three set off toward Grampa Canyon, a string of familiar chimes echoed in Kazuki's mind.

Ding. Ding. Ding.

Multiple system prompts in a row.

He blinked. What the—did I just hit a perfect trigger chain?

That many missions popping up at once could only mean one thing: serious loot incoming.

He opened the Perfect Script Plunder System panel immediately.

[Ding! Mission Triggered: Capture Aerodactyl!]

[Reward: +1 Pokémon Party Slot]

Kazuki's eyes widened with delight. Yesterday he'd been complaining about having only seven active slots. Now the system had just handed him an eighth.

"Perfect," he muttered, grinning. "Guess that fossil's mine now."

He scrolled down to the next mission.

[Ding! Mission Triggered: Fated Duel — Defeat Aerodactyl using Charizard!]

[Reward: Charizard Level +3]

A "Fated Duel" mission, huh?

He immediately remembered the original story—Charmeleon had fought Aerodactyl and, under pressure, evolved into Charizard mid-battle. It was a defining moment, but also one full of regrets and flaws.

This time, he'd do it right. His Charizard had trained steadily with the Elite Trainer Kit, no forced evolutions.

"Alright," Kazuki murmured, "time to rewrite that ending."

Aerodactyl might've been the original sky tyrant, faster even than Charizard—but Kazuki had one advantage the old Ash didn't.

The Lightning Speed Aura.

Even then, though, he wasn't confident it would be enough. He started scrolling through his System Inventory, checking for items.

And there it was.

The Speed Boost Potion he'd earned from stopping that dam construction near Diglett's fields. He'd never used it before—he'd figured Pidgeot was already fast enough.

But now? This was perfect.

He opened Charizard's status panel.

[Pokémon: Charizard (Elite Trainer State)]

[Level: 40 (Quasi Gym Tier)]

[Potential: Pseudo-Legendary Tier]

[Ability: Solar Power — In sunlight, Special Attack has a chance to crit!]

[Moves: Flamethrower, Fire Fang, Seismic Toss....]

[Held Item: Charcoal]

Kazuki smirked. Charizard had already leveled up again—now sitting solidly at level 40.

"That Elite Trainer Kit really works wonders."

They hadn't had many wild Pokémon to fight on the desert road or around Neon Town, yet Charizard had grown stronger anyway.

"Alright, time to pour some fuel on the fire."

He dragged the Speed Boost Potion over Charizard's slot and confirmed the use.

Then came another alert.

[Ding! Mission Triggered: Bond of Destiny — Help Misty find Togepi's Egg!]

[Reward: Shared Affection System — Togepi's Affection shared between Misty and Host. Both can co-train and command Togepi.]

[Bonus Reward: Aura of Affection — Host may assign one stat or aura buff to two bonded partners. When both are nearby, shared effect increases by 50%.]

Kazuki froze mid-scroll, blinking once.

Togepi… right. Misty's future partner.

He chuckled. "Shared affection, huh? Raising a Pokémon together… that's basically co-parenting."

A slow grin spread across his face. Guess Misty's motherly instincts are about to kick in early.

And maybe… just maybe… other things too.

He quickly scanned the reward description again. The Aura of Affection let him share one enhancement or aura with his girlfriends. When both were close, its effect jumped another fifty percent.

"What to share, though?" he mused aloud. "If it's battle-based, it won't trigger when I'm fighting solo…"

He rubbed his chin thoughtfully, then shrugged. "Eh. I'll figure it out once we're there."

Three missions tied to the same place—capture Aerodactyl, defeat it with Charizard, and help Misty find Togepi.

His pulse quickened. "Grampa Canyon, here we come."

Without another word, Kazuki released Pidgeot, crouched on its back, and motioned for the girls to join him.

"Hold tight," he called, smirking as the great bird spread its wings. "We're going treasure hunting."

With a powerful flap, Pidgeot took off, carrying Kazuki, Misty, and Suzie toward the valley—and straight into the next chapter of their adventure.
