Chapter 30 - Last Stand

The moment the fight began, it was chaos.

No warning.

Bones burst from the ground. Blasters roared from above.

Frisk barely managed to leap to the side — only for a wave of white-hot beams to slice through the air.

A hit.

His SOUL cracked, shattering like glass.

Death #1.

A blink.

Reset.

Frisk was standing in front of Sans again. Same hollow stare. Same tired words.

"welp. let's get this over with."

Bones. Beams. Gravity fields.

Frisk dodged better this time — a leap, a roll, a slide under the beam — but Sans caught him in a cage of spinning bones. The pressure crushed inwards.

A flash of white.

Death #2.

Reset.

Again.

This time the attacks came faster.

Sans wasn't holding back. No pauses, no jokes. His eyes flared blue and orange, slamming Frisk back and forth between waves of bone spears and scorching beams.

Blood spattered the floor.

Frisk hit the ground. Couldn't move fast enough.

Death #3.

Reset.

Each death blurred into the next.

Death #4. Crushed by gravity, bones shattering his SOUL mid-dodge.

Death #5. Caught in a spinning barrage, pinned against the wall.

Death #6. Stumbled into a cluster of blasters, his body dissolving in light.

Death #7. Chained by blue magic, a final bone spike through his chest.

Every time — a reset.

Every time — Chara's voice.

"Again. Stay determined."

Her voice wasn't sad anymore.

It was hungry.

By the tenth death, Frisk's movements were mechanical. His face blank. His body felt heavier. The hall seemed smaller, suffocating, like the world itself was collapsing.

Sans gritted his teeth.

"why won't you just stay dead…?"

His hands trembled.

The endless fight was breaking him too.

But still — he attacked.

Gravity wells. Crossfire blasters. Bone storm walls.

Frisk died again. And again.

And again.

Death #15.

Death #19.

Death #23.

Each reset chipped away at something. Frisk no longer felt the pain. No longer saw the light. Only the rhythm.

Attack. Die. Reset.

Above Mt. Ebott, the girl's face was pale, her knuckles white around the soaked book. The rain poured down, mixing with the tears she didn't realize were falling.

Her hands lifted — a frantic gesture. A plea.

The man's face was grave.

"He's lost now. This isn't mercy. This is madness."

Back in the Judgment Hall, Sans was staggering.

His voice rasped.

"alright… you know what?"

He raised a trembling hand.

"if we're doing this forever…"

His eye blazed.

"…then i'm taking you with me."

The screen went dark.

Frisk's SOUL hung suspended, trapped. The edges of the world glitched. The hall was gone — only a void remained.

Sans smiled, tired and broken.

"gotcha."

But Chara's voice slithered through the dark.

"Stay determined."

A pulse.

A crack in the void.

Reset.

Frisk opened his eyes in front of Sans once more.

No words this time.

No hesitation.

Blade raised.
