Chapter 36 - Chapter 36: Situation in Sabaody

I kept thinking about the situation with Mercedes, the fact that I would kill a Tenryuubi, since that's what it means to have all the components she asks for, being at odds with the Navy and the World Government, and the only way I can do that is this way. Not to defend them, but I've seen how things are there, and sadly, some aren't born monsters; they become monsters. There are some exceptions, like Doflamingo or even my own brother, Ramses. I know that most of his mentality is Ares's fault, but I also know that it's not all of it.

That's why the situation stuck in my head: these people who were raised this way, who were raised as gods, didn't have the opportunity to choose; they were born in that place and influenced in that way to be that way. Incidentally, I think about my own situation: what would have happened if I weren't a reincarnated person? Maybe I'd be just like them, or even worse. Honestly, I'll never know.

Just like the people who are corrupted there, there are also people who remain good people. An example is the rest of Doflamingo's family, not counting him. From what I feel, they don't deserve a massacre or anything like that, at least not all of them; those in power and all that, I think they do deserve to have their heads cut off. But you can never put everything in one bag. Everywhere, there will be someone good and someone bad.

Putting all that out of my head, I gave the fruit to Hun; now we can communicate with words, not gestures or assumptions.

Dante: "Well?"

Hun: "Croak croak [I'm hungry]," I heard the words in my mind. In the outside world, they still sound like a crow, but in my mind, it was different.

Dante: "I'm going to give you a big surprise in the form of food if you answer my questions." I need to understand Hun's speech limitations so I can gradually teach him what he's missing.

Hun: "Croak [Yes]"

Dante: "What's my name?"

Hun: "Croak [Dante]."

Dante: "And am I to you?"

Hun: "Croak [Master]."

Dante: "Who are the others in the group?"

Hun: "Croak Croak Croak Croak [Trinity, Arthur, Sullivan, Isis]," hmm, that's a missing link there.

Dante: "What's 9 + 7?"

Hun: "Croak [16]," okay, last question.

Dante: "What's the secret password?"

Hun: "Croak Croak Croak Croak Croak [The G5 never broke the internet]," totally accurate, not a lie.

(Note: Sorry if any One Piece fans are offended by this, but it's on IG and I stumbled across it while writing and couldn't help myself; also, what Hun said isn't a lie.)

Everything was fine; he just needs a little language practice, but he'll get better with time. Now Hun's job, for the time we're here, is to get money illegally. I may be a hero, but I don't get paid for it.

Eventually, night fell, and the rest of the company arrived. Isis and Arthur were at the amusement park the entire time. Trini was looking at the clothing stores and various bakeries. And Sulli was looking around and wandering around the less dangerous areas.

Everyone was surprised when they realized Hun could now speak; it was like the revelation of the year. Now the help he'll provide us will be more useful and more precise, so no one complained about me getting this Devil Fruit and giving it to Hun. With the two purchases, I have a total of 241,000,000 PL left.

One thing I'd like to remember is about using the system. More specifically, about using Devil Fruits. So far, I've purchased three fruits from the system store, all of which have already been consumed, so, in theory, I don't have them, but that's not entirely true.

What the system does is generate a code when you buy a fruit, like buying codes in video games, and this code can only be used once per world. In other words, I'll always have the fruits, but to get them again, I need to go to another world.

That raises another point to discuss; the best way to explain it is with an example. The Buddha Fruit has already been consumed, this being by Sengoku, and I go to another world and in that world consume the Buddha Fruit, and by chance I return to this world, then I'll no longer have the Buddha Fruit, since there's a user who already had it before; it'll be as if I never got it. This is something the system controls to avoid glitches and errors in the worlds. Devil Fruits are unique; two can't exist at the same time. An example of this is Vegapunk's cloned fruit; he tried to clone one, but couldn't completely.

This also applies to any item I acquire. If I go to another world and have an item from that world, I automatically lose it. I only regain possession of it when I leave that world, as I'll lose the item, but never the code that generates it.

Finally, I can't possess two unique items within the system; only one can be generated once within the system. Basically, I can't have two identical Devil Fruits in a single world, even if it's not One Piece; this is to avoid further breaking the world I'm in. And there's the special case of Sword Buster: the system has the code, but since it's not obtained through the system, I can't save it, so while I'm in the world of One Piece, I can't do it. The system rewrote the world so that the sword would naturally become part of the world. It's as if it were built in this world, not by the system.

Now, leaving aside the useless systems that won't let me hack to infinity and beyond, tomorrow we'll dedicate ourselves to exploring the place and keeping an eye out for potential prey. At least that's what they're going to do; I'm going to look at the auction here; I have to find out what days they hold them. I'm not sure if the Doflamingo family is already in charge of that, but if they are, then I'm going to have even more fun ruining their illicit businesses. I may not be able to save the slaves who have already been bought by the celestial dragons, but I can still save them before they're sold.

The rest of the night we spent the night looking through the newspaper and looking at various pirate bounties; we were analyzing whether they were still here in the archipelago, or if they were still coming here, or if they had already left.

*The next day*

The weather in Sabaody was quite pleasant; The way the world is made means that the weather in certain places almost never changes, especially in Paradise and the New World, with their respective exceptions.

In the end, I decided not to wake up too early. Right now, I was alone; the others were already doing their part. The only ones doing something different were Hun and me. Hun with his search for gemstones, and I with the auction; while I was at it, I would also exchange the ones I already had for bellies.

(Note: I decided to call them bellies from now on instead of berries or beri.)

After a while, and the sun hitting my face, I decided to get up. Once I had done everything important around the house, I went straight to the auction.

Along the way, there were a few people who recognized me and asked for photos and to say hello; it felt so good to be recognized.

Once I arrived at the auction, I saw some people standing guard.

Guard: "There's no auction today," he said flatly.

Dante: "And when is the auction?" The guards looked at each other.

Guards: "It should be in three days."

Dante: "Okay, thanks." I went straight to what I wanted.

Instead of turning around, I went another way, which led to the back of the auction. Once I was a good distance away, I stood still and focused.

I sensed the different presences inside the auction, but what caught my attention most was one specific spot. There was a cluster of people, or, in other words, slaves. They were tightly packed in a secluded room, not moving much. I'm not very good with my perception, but I think they're behind bars and in chains. It still feels a bit blurry in my mind, but I think that's how it is.

The auction was going to be in three days, and there were already slaves ready for sale. Therefore, I'll attack the auction in two days. Before leaving, I looked at a symbol on one of the guards. It was a Jolly Roger, specifically Doflamingo's.

I don't think he has that much influence in organized crime and all that yet, but from what I see, he does have some people working for him.

If he were the owner of the auction, the Jolly Roger would be stuck to the auction, not his guards. He's still young, and his influence shouldn't be as pronounced yet as it will be in the future.

Also, the Shichibukai system hasn't been implemented yet, but that should still be under discussion, now that the yonkuos are emerging, but only Whitebeard and Bigmon are there. Kaido has heard of some exploits around, but nothing with Shanks.

In the end, I went to exchange the jewelry I had for money and returned to the place where we were staying. Once we arrived, I started looking at our itinerary for the day.

Today was Tuesday. Tomorrow we were going to hunt pirates. On Thursday we were going to attack the auction. On Friday and Saturday we were going to remain anonymous, and the rest of the days we were going to continue hunting pirates. My plan is to stay here for 10 days. To get to the New World, the idea is to practice and train during the days we're going to be hunting pirates.

My plan is to ask the navy, with the number of pirates we've captured, to take us from here to the New World.

For the rest of the day, I didn't do anything; I just waited for the others to arrive. Hun arrived first, with a good haul. Then the others arrived; based on the information they found, there are three supernovas and one pirate with a larger bounty. One with 130,000,000 Belly, another with 156,600,000 Belly, and the other Supernova with 234,000,000 Belly. The pirate, aside from being a veteran since he comes from the New World, has 379,000,000 Belly.

Honestly, any of them will do, but I think we'll go from the one with the lowest reward to the highest. Because if we go for the one with the highest, the others might get scared and run away, and I wouldn't tolerate that loss of money.

I also have to think about Isis, who has a very op fruit, but she's inexperienced. The good thing is that Supernovas don't have Haki, so she's invincible against them.

For the rest of the day, we went shopping for food and played cards. We played poker all night. In the end, I won. I took all the chips, so I have the right to eat all the pizzas that were meant for the winner. Everyone looked at me with envy in their eyes. Maybe I'll sleep on the floor today, but I'll sleep with a full belly and like a king.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The chapter was a bit short, so I added the explanation of the system to lengthen it, since I had to do it at some point, and I decided it was good to do it now.

Besides, I'm here to complain about joining the board of representatives for my degree, and I kind of regret it now, since if I felt I didn't have much time, now I have even less. All I can do is cry.

Finally, I'd like to add that I don't sympathize with the Celestial Dragons, but I have to think logically and critically. While I don't like them, there are some exceptions, such as some members of the Doflamingo family, so they can't all be 100% evil. Bad people, yes, but perhaps not evil.
