The next morning, Lin Mo woke up earlier than anyone else. The sky was still dim, and the dawn hadn't yet broken through the gray clouds. Even the old aunt, who was supposed to wake up early in the simulation, was still fast asleep in her room, buried under her covers, blissfully unaware of the world.

After waking up and washing up, Lin Mo casually grabbed some ingredients from the kitchen and cooked a breakfast for two. His expression was serious as he ate.

Although he had planned to rest up, knowing that tonight's mission wouldn't go smoothly, Lin Mo couldn't bring himself to sleep in.

The uncertainty of situations beyond his control really made him anxious, but he still had his Troll Baby Pillow to keep him company, which had a special effect of calming his mind, helping him adopt a childlike innocence. So, even with little sleep, it didn't affect him much—just a matter of getting a little more or less sleep.

After breakfast, seeing that the old aunt was still asleep, Lin Mo didn't just sit there waiting for her to wake up. Instead, he turned and went to the warehouse.

Now, the private warehouse had become his armory. After changing the access code, Lin Mo had placed all his belongings there.

He didn't have much, and even if Xu Wanxue had some doubts and occasionally came to check, she would never find any contraband.

Upon arriving at the warehouse, Lin Mo paused for a moment as he looked at the weapon crates placed in the center. Finally, he quietly opened one of them.

Inside the large box, there were dozens of smaller compartments, each containing a blue rectangular throwing object, with a lightning symbol on its outer casing.

—Electromagnetic Pulse Grenades.

These were military-grade, one-time-use tactical grenades. Their status was almost on par with laser-cut grenades or toxic grenades, offering unique functionality.

In this age of cybernetics, EMP grenades were extremely effective at disabling and paralyzing any electronic devices that weren't equipped with countermeasures. Whether it was a heavily-armored security robot or a mechanical body, they would inevitably be affected.

According to the information Lin Mo had received earlier, the security system of the BioTech building would undergo a complete upgrade tonight, and there would be no living personnel inside.

Thus, the only defensive measure within the building would likely be countless security robots and hidden turrets.

The EMP grenades were the perfect tool to counter these defense systems.

"But that's not enough..." Lin Mo muttered softly.

Lin Mo was certain that, even in the simulation, if he had properly prepared, he wouldn't have forgotten to carry these EMP grenades.

Sadly, tragedy still struck, proving that having just grenades wasn't nearly enough.

"Damn it, if only I had a four-dimensional backpack like in the game..." Lin Mo sighed, feeling regretful as he looked at the grenades.

Even if he stuffed his pockets full, he could only carry about five or six grenades at most.

Unless, like before, he carried a pouch or a travel bag, he could have filled it with grenades and carried a larger number.

But carrying so many things would obviously slow him down.

Lin Mo had never heard of a ninja or assassin carrying a large bag while fighting.

"The SSI security protocol doesn't include clauses to counter the company's security... so I can't count on that. The only other help I have is the trauma team's Platinum Membership and Deraman's 'pursuit of excellence' service," Lin Mo thought to himself.

He had arranged almost everything he could think of from the company's packages, but when it came to the "unexpected," Lin Mo still had no idea what it was.

Despite the "unexpected" happening, he was still alive, meaning it wasn't enough to wipe out all three of them.

"If tonight's mission really becomes impossible, I'll just go to Wakako and commission a job, throw a few million, hire several teams, and blow up BioTech!" Lin Mo thought, a fierce determination rising within him.

"No, no one in Night City, except Rogue, could handle such a job."

In the end, everything still depended on him.

To avoid the tragedy of tonight's mission, he had to prepare thoroughly.

As for the choice of "canceling the mission and running away in cowardice," that thought never crossed Lin Mo's mind.

The simulator had given him the power to foresee the future, the chance to live again—it was not meant for him to run away... it was to reverse the future, to change the tragedy!

He had to overcome this obstacle.

Sitting atop the crates of military equipment, Lin Mo furrowed his brows, deep in thought about tonight's plan.

After a long while, as if he had finally made up his mind, Lin Mo stood up and walked to where the Stone Sword was parked in the warehouse.

The car door slowly opened, and beside the driver's seat lay a sharp blade sheathed, resting at an angle. Its ancient intricate patterns adorned the sheath, while the blade, hidden within, awaited release—this sharp, unyielding sword was still his most reliable companion, accompanying him since his youth.

It seemed as though Lin Mo had finally come to a realization. His eyes glinted with a strange light as he picked up the sword from the seat and said nothing.

He didn't feel the need to overthink things anymore.

Take all the equipment he needed, use all his trump cards, face the enemies with a sword in hand, and if he encountered an opponent too powerful to defeat, he would avoid them and wait for the right moment.

He laid everything on the line because he didn't want the tragedy from the simulation to repeat.

He made all these preparations because he was fearless, unwilling to cowardly survive using the simulator.

"I have fulfilled my will, and if I cannot reach it, I can have no regrets."

...

The next morning, as the dawn barely broke and the grass on the manor's lawn was watered by the automatic sprinklers, Lin Mo was already up. The roar of the engine sounded like a galloping horse, reverberating throughout the entire estate.

Liu Ruoying, waking from her sleep, groggily stumbled to the balcony. She saw a massive steel beast driving out of the garage.

"The Chevrolet Emperor 720? Isn't that kid driving the Stone Sword? Did Xue'er buy him this huge thing?" Liu Ruoying stared in disbelief as the vehicle passed by.

Though the Emperor 720 didn't have the speed of the Stone Sword, its horsepower was unrivaled.

The vehicle, customized by Xu Wanxue, was armored with a high-level alloy, impervious to ordinary bullets, and could only be pierced by advanced electromagnetic technology weapons.

As the car left the manor, Liu Ruoying turned her gaze away, mumbling to herself:

"This kid, he's not going to use this vehicle to bully street thugs, is he?"

But now that Lin Mo had left early, there was no way for her to ask. She slowly walked back to the second floor and saw a breakfast neatly prepared on the table next to the small kitchen.

"Wow, I didn't expect Lin Mo to still think of me!" Liu Ruoying ran over, tearfully looking at the breakfast on the table.
