That evening, Liu Ruoying happily took out some alcohol from the wine cabinet, intending to drink with Lin Mo.

After all, it wasn't her personal alcohol, so drinking it casually wouldn't be a big deal. Moreover, if a little inappropriate drama could unfold after drinking, that would be even better.

Thankfully, the old lady hadn't implanted any alcohol tolerance cybernetics. After a few bottles of alcohol, she embarrassingly got drunk, and soon started getting a little more restless.

Lin Mo had no choice but to activate his Sandevistan system, placing both hands on her shoulders and forcefully shaking her head, spinning it twelve times per second, quickly making the tipsy Liu Ruoying fall asleep before she could pass out.

After much effort, Lin Mo finally managed to move the sleeping old lady to a guest room, giving her a better sleep environment so that she wouldn't end up on the floor like last time. Once everything was settled, Lin Mo breathed a sigh of relief.

As for setting an alarm for her to wake up and go to work, Lin Mo didn't bother. He trusted that once the time came, this woman would definitely wake up earlier than he did.

Even as the chief cybernetics expert at Qianqi Corp, Liu Ruoying probably didn't have too much autonomy.

Every employee at the company, upon joining, was assigned a special backdoor software implanted in their processor. This software would display tasks and file information on their cybernetic eyes or retinal data panels. It could even wake them up if they were asleep, ensuring they were always on call.

Back in his room, Lin Mo took out the simulator and started the simulation for the night.

[Simulation Start]

[Since you asked your sister to help you take a day off, you don't need to wake up early. You finally get to enjoy a good sleep and prepare for tonight's mission.]

[It's still dark, and you wake up to see a steaming breakfast spread on the table.]

[However, after a closer look, you realize that these seemingly delicious breakfasts are just reheated fast food, barely better than the charred meals your sister cooks.]

[By noon, you've prepared all the equipment, gadgets, and medicines you might need for the mission. Just as you're debating what to have for lunch, Mann calls.]

[He tells you to head to the Afterlife Bar in Chinatown to discuss the details of tonight's operation.]

[He also advises you to be careful with your identity and to wear your mask, entering as Mr. Mo, as it would benefit everyone.]

[After the call, you feel a sense of relief. You realize that your plan was correct. In just two weeks, you have earned the privilege of entering the Afterlife Bar.]

[After getting ready, you grab your backpack and drive the Stone Sword to the bar, which has birthed so many legendary figures and is also the city's most famous information hub.]

[Upon arrival, the bouncer looks at your mask, says nothing, and steps aside to let you in.]

[Inside the bar, there's a loud buzz of conversation and energetic music. The edge-dwellers inside glance at you as you enter, eyeing you like wolves sizing up an outsider.]

[You hoped to find Rogue, a legendary figure from the game's storyline, to see what she looked like in real life. Unfortunately, the old woman seems to be too busy. You don't see her.]

[You feel like Liu Laolao entering the Grand View Garden—every corner of the bar catches your interest. Seeing the game come to life is truly a bittersweet feeling.]

[Mann calls you over to the booth. After some casual conversation, you both sit down.]

[You see the guy in the red suit with glasses, then Sasha, along with his followers.]

[The man in the red suit seems busy. He glances at you but doesn't ask much. He simply explains the operation's details, hands over the biotechnological security clearance and jammer, and quickly leaves with his followers.]

[With some time before the operation, you take the opportunity to enjoy the unique atmosphere of the bar.]

[During this time, Mann gathers the rest of the team for a meetup, but only a few are available.]

[You all drink happily, but for the sake of the operation's safety, you didn't drink alcohol, instead opting for carbonated drinks.]

[Good times are always short-lived. After drinking a belly full of soda and fast food, you feel overly full and head to the bathroom.]

[When you return, you find that Sasha has already set off.]

[You wonder why Sasha went alone, but Mann says it's not a problem. There's enough time to gather intel tonight, and since Sasha is walking, you two will catch up by car.]

[A while later, Mann finally takes you to the BioTech Tower at the company plaza.]

[Although you want to go help Sasha, Mann says you don't need to. Just stay outside and set up the jammer. The potential risks outside aren't lower than inside.]

[At first, everything goes smoothly. You and Mann think the mission is secure.]

[Then the unexpected happens. You give everything you've got, but it's too late to change the outcome.]

[In the end, it proves that accidents always happen when you least expect them. Fate might have already arranged everything. A stage play always ends in tragedy.]

[Today is a day for mourning. The white rose falls from the sky, a torrential rain pours, and the angel's wings break. You must understand, not everyone has a guardian angel.]

[This should never have happened. You're still alive, but someone has died.]

[Simulation Evaluation: The sky leaves no trace of the bird, but I have flown through it.]

[Simulation Rewards: Anti-gravity Thrusters (40s version), 2 Attribute Points, 1 Skill Point.]

...

Staring at the text in the simulator, Lin Mo remained silent for a long time.

This was the first time he had seen a simulation end in tragedy. The information on the screen seemed to be a warning from the simulator— tomorrow's mission wouldn't be as easy as he imagined.

Even the rewards given were substantial: 2 Attribute Points and 1 Skill Point.

It was the first time he'd ever received 2 Attribute Points as a reward from a simulation.

Looking back at past simulations, any combat-related missions that had "small trouble" mentioned usually involved some small-time gang members trying to beat him up. He'd deal with them easily, and the entire event felt like child's play, not even a scratch on his body.

Even the "cleansing" operation, which was more dangerous, went smoothly in the end. Despite a few light injuries, with nano-robots and top-tier medicine, he was back to full health in under an hour.

But now… "accidents" appeared in the simulation for the first time.

"That damn simulator... always acting like a riddle master when serious business comes up, only giving me vague descriptions," Lin Mo grumbled, deeply conflicted.

For major events like this, the simulator didn't want him to know too much. It often gave him vague, ambiguous texts and let him figure things out on his own.

Of course, there was another possibility: maybe the simulator couldn't give a detailed description of such events.

After all, now that he knew there would be major trouble tomorrow, the trajectory of fate had already shifted as soon as he saw it.

He would not let this tragedy unfold before him!
