The sound of a cell phone ringing echoed through the room.
Lin Mei slowly woke up, her long black hair spread across the pillow. Her grape-like eyes widened in shock when she realized where she was.
A hotel room.
Her heart skipped a beat. When she turned her head to the side, she saw a naked man lying beside her.
Her breath caught.
She looked down at herself and realized she was naked as well.
At that moment, a sharp and unfamiliar pain surged through her body. Her eyes fell on the bloodstain on the bed, and panic exploded inside her.
"Ahhhhh! Help!" she screamed.
Suddenly, a calm and gentle voice interrupted her panic.
"Good morning, wife. It's good to see you awake."
Lin Mei froze.
The memories from last night crashed into her mind.
Yesterday, her now ex-boyfriend, the despicable Feng Zhen, and her shameless sister, Lin Miao, had set her up. She had received an anonymous message—one she believed was sent by Lin Miao—claiming that Feng Zhen was cheating on her.
