Chapter 27 - Last Room!

To continue going further inside the tomb, Su Mo and Yang Qingxi already knew the way. They didn't need to search for clues like Ye Chen did in the original story.

"Is this the end? Or is there a hidden passage somewhere?" Zhang Xulin asked, pondering, while curiosity sparkled in her eyes.

"We need to climb this tower?"

Su Mo answered, pointing his thumb towards the dozen-meter-long tower.

"Huh? This tower?" Zhang Xulin raised her head to look towards the top of the tower. Other than the enclosed rocky ceiling, she found nothing. So, she asked in a doubtful tone. "Are you sure, Su Mo? There doesn't seem to be a way out."

"Just trust me," Su Mo assured with a confident smile. Even if he didn't know about it through the novel, with his spiritual sense, he could've still found the way without trouble.

At first, Su Mo wanted to suggest floating up there on his sword. However, Yang Qingxi had already started climbing up.

Her expression was serious, most probably thinking of her upcoming fight. However, with Su Mo's presence, they wouldn't get hurt. She still wanted to complete the next fight without asking for his help. Which was a necessary part of their growth.

It didn't take long for the three of them to climb to the top of the tower, regardless of Su Mo, who had come a long way in cultivation. Yang Qingxi was at the peak body refining stage, making her physique five times stronger than that of an ordinary person. As for Zhang Xulin, she was only a little away from the peak.

So, climbing this tower wasn't a trouble for them at all.

*Boom*

As the ceiling almost touched the top of his head, Su Mo punched upwards, making a gaping hole, and a lot of rubble fell to the ground, scattering.

Although there was indeed a hidden hole to pass through behind the brick. Su Mo didn't want to make himself uncomfortable passing through such a narrow space.

Not to mention, his boss, his goddess of wealth, Miss Yang, was accompanying him.

Zhang Xulin: …?

---

After entering the secret passage, he helped them both up. Then they continued walking in the long, dark corridor after turning on their flashlights.

A minute or so walk, Su Mo sensed a large amount of yin energy gathered ahead.

[I guessed right, the source of the yin energy of the entire stone spring mountains was here.]

[The Ghost Apple Twig should be able to grow in full bloom after absorbing so much yin energy.]

Yang Qingxi heard his inner voice. Her eyes narrowed as she looked at the sight in front of them.

---

A vast hall, dimly lit by the luminous moss, stretches into shadow. Cold stone underfoot. The air is damp, still, and smells faintly of old blood.

Lining the walls, terracotta warriors stand in rigid rows. Each one unique—eyes carved with unsettling precision, lips parted slightly, hands frozen in mid-grip. They seem to watch, though none move.

At the far end, a massive ox skull is mounted on the wall. Its hollow mouth gapes open, and in front of it is a stagnant pond of dark, thick blood. The surface is motionless.

In the centre of the hall rests a sarcophagus. Black stone. No markings. Heavy chains wrap around it, bolted tightly to the floor. As if sealing something inside.

All along the walls, corpses and skeletal remains hang from rusted hooks. They wear the tattered, faded clothing of villagers—simple linen, patched wool, frayed shawls. Some heads hang low, others tilt as if straining to look.

A faint drip echoes through the hall. There is no wind. Only the sound of Zhang Xulin's cold sweat dripping on the stone underfoot.

"This is horrible! What kind of evil person was this tomb owner?!"

"We will get the answers later. You two get ready to fight. I am going to do my personal thing." Su Mo said as he walked towards the blood pond, passing by the chained sarcophagus in the middle.

"Hey, Su Mo. At least, make it clear what you mean. Will we fight? Who are our opponents?" Zhang Xulin asked with a helpless expression.

"Okay, Sister Zhang, take out your weapon. They have started moving." Yang Qingxi said as she took out two strange daggers and took a stance.

"Movements..?" Zhang Xulin raised her eyebrows in confusion, and she immediately noticed the difference. The Terracotta warriors all had their heads turned in their direction.

"C-can these statues move?" Zhang Xulin murmured with a gulp and took out her sword.

Yang Qingxi explained the information she knew. "They are corpses that were made into puppets. Now they just follow the only command of killing all intruders."

"Understood, Miss." Zhang Xulin nodded, and her fear of the unknown vanished.

Hmph! Just a puppet? I thought it was awesome!

Yang Qingxi looked at her fast, face-changing speed and was dumbfounded. What happened? Wasn't she scared just now? Why is she looking at the puppets with a disdainful scorn on her face? Dual personality?

She didn't have the time to think for long, as the terracotta warriors had already started their attacks.

"Sister Zhang! You deal with the left! I'll go right!" Yang Qingxi shouted while blocking their attacks.

"Okay! Miss!" Zhang Xulin agreed. Although she knew her Miss was stronger than her. She lacked combat experience. Which made her a little worried.

'Fortunately, Su Mo is here. Otherwise, I wouldn't dare think of letting Miss take such a risk.'

She blocked the incoming slash with her sword, feeling numb.

'Their fighting skills are so good. As if they have gone through countless battles.'

Yang Qingxi, on the right side, was moving around with two daggers, doing kite attacks on the terracotta warriors.

It was indeed as she thought. Fighting with them is very useful for their combat skills.

Su Mo took out a small pot filled with mud. Planted the Ghost Apple Twig in it and directly dipped the entered pot into the blood pool.

'Now I just have to wait a few hours.'

He felt a little bored, so he sat on the ground, took out his smartphone and started playing shooting games. At the same time, he watched over the girls.
